Reserve Bank of India has launched a digital currency (Central Bank Digital Currency) which is commonly called a digital rupee or e-rupee. This digital rupee has been launched as a pilot project as of now. Most people are confused about the difference between the digital rupee and UPI in India. This video explains the concept of digital currency and the difference between the digital rupee and UPI. Some people say that this is a cryptocurrency established by the government of India. But there are many differences between a crypto currency and the digital rupee by RBI. The differences between cryptocurrency and digital currency in India are explained in this video. Along with that, the positives and negatives of the digital rupee are also discussed in this video.

One of the major benefits not mentioned in the above video, I believe , is the transaction doesn't need any internet to validate. The application itself will validate as the transaction is between the two persons only. Once the internet is back online , the ledger will synchronized with the intermediary organization ( RBI approved ).
A basic phone with no internet or a person with little knowledge of technology could transfer money (SMS based, Currently UPI also provides this).
Currently upi transaction also provide what...😇

Few banks have already started digital money application. Please include that in your next presentation. Going forward each bank under RBI will introduce their digital money application . So that the customers can transfer their accounted money to the digital money wallet very conveniently.
