I'm a Malaysian married to a Tajik woman from Tajikistan. We speak in English but our kids can speak Tajiki off and on. My eldest daughter born in Tajikistan speak well in Tajik but the siblings pick up Tajik when they go to Tajikistan but when they come back they forget Tajik bcos the mother speaks with them in English. Now they remember a few phrases. My youngest kid was able to pick up Tajik when he was there n the mother speaks with him in Tajik. When they return to Malaysia, my wife starts switching to English n the boy forgot it. Now they went back to Tajikistan n he has picked up Tajiki again n speaks fluent Tajiki but when he speaks to me in video call he speaks English. What is important is the heritage of language. If one person speaks English the other person should speak Tajiki. If both speaks in English then Tajik language will be gone. I told my wife many times to speak Tajiki to the kids but she never listens but blames me for not learning Tajiki. That's why I'm now serious about learning Tajiki. Is there any books with Tajiki-English translation on words n phrases for daily use ? I'm willing to buy the book.
@@ЮлияС-к9т Yes, I live in Afghanistan. The Dari dialect is the same as Tajik, but the way of speaking is different. Tajik is similar to Russian and has Russian words in it
@@ivvrr1 oh yes, Tajik really has many russian words. I'm russian speaker... I like Dari language speaking and writing, in my opinion it more beautiful then Iranian speaking. P. S. sorry for my English 🤭
I'm Iranian and in pur language it's quiet the same. Shesh (like leg) in formal speaking and shish (like feel) in informal. It's just a persian thing that A LOT of words are pronounced differently when speaking informally and that's the most challenging thing about learning Persian.
@@ivvrr1 no Farsi is a dialect of Persian. The official dialects of Persian in Afghanistan and Tajikistan are Dari and Tajiki respectively, but they're still all part of the Persian language.
As an Iranian I'm here to see how Tajikistani looks compared to Iranian persian. It's like your native mother tongue is Russian and you're trying to speak Persian as a second language 😁🤣 A LOT of similarities I see. Love from Iran 🇹🇯❤️🇮🇷

As A Tajik I don’t like referring to the language Tajiki, lets keep it Farsi.
Farsi is specifically the dialect used in Iran though. Better to call it Persian.
