Bro, You did a great blog about my first home. Better than anybody. You were so impartial and open minded. I personally appreciate it. I used to live there for 22 years. I got married and then moved to Russia barely speaking russian. Now I live in Montreal speaking 5 languages on daily basis and honestly don't miss Tadjikistan. But my mother still lives there and what I try to explain to my kids " There is another world outside Canada and other 7 billions of people live in poverty like I did. You were right while explaining political situation. Some places are not built for democracy and religious liberty causes immediate war like in Afghanistan. With all pros and cons I like our president because Tadjikistan is at least an open country and tourists like you can go and visit and show this different world. When people ask me where I'm from, nobody knows about Tadjikistan except Iranians. Hope one day I go back home to show my kids this strange but beautiful land. For sure tajiks are the most kind people in the world. I remember how we survived during a civil war when I was a kid. I hope you liked this trip and it made you a little bit happier with all we have in western world. Best regards.
Thanks for watching and commenting! My experience of Tajiks was very positive. I found them the most open and friendly of the people in Central Asia. I'm glad the video could be of use to you and it's really cool to hear about your experience emigrating to Canada
In the 90s, they killed all Russian men in Dushanbe, raped and brutally killed all Russian women and girls, shot a bus with children of border guards from a grenade launcher. Russian citizens have long been talking to Putin about the need to close the border with Central Asia.
17:35 I believe that’s a play from Shahnameh which is the Persian book of kings. Many Persian people attribute the perseverance of Persian language and even Iranian identity to this longest work of epic poems in the world.
@@Treasure-bl3cn how so? Most of us are named after legendary characters of Shahnameh, we still celebrate the Persian New Year as the main event of every year and even the country’s government was based on the imperial system that was described in Shahnameh till 40 years ago

Born and raised in a very large cold industrial Soviet city in Siberia where food was rationed by coupons since 1980, I was lucky to have relatives in the Soviet Central Asia and as a child visited them two or three times with my father. The impression I had from that warm sunny and abundant in good food lands will stay in my memory forever. Tajiks are kind people, in my opinion not treated fairly by Russians during in the USSR. At best the attitude was patronizing, at worth - fear and hate. As a Canadian now, I am so enjoying your unbiased videos, Alex! Thanks!
Absolutely loved these 3 installments! With the usual rampant corruption and poverty in these ex soviet satalite States you'd expect it to be dangerous and miserable, but people seem so open and happy.. A revelation! Thanks for your extensive knowledge... Every day's a school day!
All three of these videos were excellent. I’m hassling all my friends to watch them. And thank you for getting the message out there about the terrible Tajikistan Civil War. It’s bad enough to have your country torn apart by a conflict, but having the rest of the world remain barely aware of that conflict’s existence adds insult to injury…
Absolutley fantastic blend of genuine experiences while traveling and fascinating information about a lesser known nation. Thank you and please continue making videos of this quality. The work you do is valuable and amazing!
So underrated Chanel? Your storytelling is beyond this world an the quality content is fascinating. The most beautiful video of Tajikistan i have ever seen 😍 especially lover the episode about Sarband and the theater performance! Bravo !
Thanks a lot mate, I really appreciate that. I'm trying to step up my game in a few areas and I have some projects planned that I think you'll enjoy. More videos to come, hopefully soon
Having watched all 3 videos, I think this is the best documentary I've ever seen, and I've watched a ton of them. It certainly beats those created by the professional institutions like the BBC, NPR, etc. It provided an excellent overview of the country in summary form, while also providing depth, balance, subtlety and nuance. The contrast between portions that were heavy in information and clips from travel experiences kept me from suffering from info overload, or the doc falling into yet another travel vlog. Your delivery of the commentary was really excellent - wonderful pacing, clear articulation, beautifully spoken. I look forward to watching many more of your videos. Thank you!
You deserve much more Views and Subscribers! There is so much effort and work youve put in these 4 videos about tajikistan. I hope you stay positive and keep up the great work!

However, it is very professionally researched, very informative and contains good humor. Therefore, I found it very pleasant to discover your documentation. Please produce more of such works, big thanks from Mongolia.
