I have this piece. Love it. Perfect weight and balance. Yes! Have it sized for you as the collar is not the normal collar that goes in the middle link, it goes at the very end link so you need to put pressure on both ends to sink the pin into the collar. It’s the most difficult collar I’ve ever worked with. Other than that A++
I just bought this timepiece from Mimo wow what a coincidence! I love it and I had a great experience. Highly recommended. Thank you Mimo, I’ll see you again soon!
ive seen this watch on a store today and im in love, but the fact that it has quartz movement is pulling me back. with the quality and everything this is one of the best watches of seiko i think
It's a grab and go good looking diver that will last forever. With most probably no servicing needed. What's stopping you? The fact its not an automatic?
@@egeelcin I suppose I agree there, I shouldn't have said its grab and go because its not grab and go for me either. Although you can pick up one the other varients around £250
It’s good to have drilled lugs on a seiko, so you can throw the bracelet in the trash quickly. I just got this watch in the mail and did exactly that 😇
Looks like they took the discontinued SBDN01X models (JDM), got rid of the titanium, and raised the prices a couple hundred bucks. Really hard to understand why they did this.
I have the black one. And I always confuse the lollypop seconds hand. So I just reverse the lollypop to correct seconds . And it got the Omega James Bond feel
I have the SBDN069, has a really dark grey radiant dial with a faded grey look to the bezel insert. . That's the main design feature on the particular model I have that really attracted me. Overall, it wears great and super reliable.. I've been recording the performance and it's like +0.2 s/d. 👍 Personally, because the lugs are kind of on the wide or broad side, I feel the watch wears a little larger.. more like a 39mm, maybe a smidge close to 40mm. They have pretty good mix of colors. Great grab and go classic style dive watch.
I have the grey bezel one and I absolutely love it! The bracelet is ok as its a strap monster of a watch but WHY DIDNT THEY OUTLINE THE DATE WINDOW!!!!!
This is the right direction for Seiko. Moving up with better chassis like this watch with solar movement. Mechanical movements are dumb in this century. That said, too small on your wrist Rob but great for a large percentage of men with smaller wrists. Thanks for your review.
I have a 7” wrist and own this with the brown dial. The size looks ideal for me. Threw the bracelet in the trash, works great with a rubber strap. Cost under $400, love it.
This is too small for my taste in divers (and arguably my 6'7" height), but will be a great grab-and-go watch for those with smaller wrists, a taste for small watches, or women. I'm glad they went with sapphire, even though this is sub $500. I'd love to see something like this in a 40.5-42mm size from Seiko.
Can't believe anyone would consider this watch over a Citizen BN0156 with a better solar movement, better lume, perfect hand alignment, solid end links, a tooless adjustable clasp, and less then $300.
I have both and the Seiko has sapphire and more of an everyday watch. My BN is on a strap so I find Seiko just more comfortable for my 7.25 wrist. Both great pieces.
Mine has perfect bezel and hand alignment and cost under $400. How can you compare these two watches when the Citizen is 44mm and ugly. The Seiko is 38.5 with classic good looks.
The bezel action on this piece is ridiculously good… I am addicted to playing with it

This is probably my favorite Seiko diver out of all the ones I’ve tried. It’s well proportioned and not too heavy.
I'm looking to buy my first serious watch, would you recommend this to someone who never owned an expensive watch before?

I already have the watch but been loving it for months and just eating up any YT videos on it! Thanks for reviewing this one.
It's really well proportioned and is perfect for those who have smaller wrist.
I have one in green. I love it. Extremely accurate.
the SNE569P1 is probably my fave from the solar series
agreed. I too ordered one. gotta love that bezel color. I couldn't resist.

@Gym Bob Joe it is not in "grab and go price" range for me :(

@@gymbobjoe1091Will it last forever for real?
@@xtommyxx2468 it'll last a long time. Nothing lasts forever.
I really hope uncle Seiko or strapcode do some bracelets options and curved rubber straps for this .
I like the night vision version with that green blue lume!!
Very nice and a long power reserve compared to the five months on the Citizen Eco Drive chronograph I just got my dad.
Great size and overall great piece 🎉

2 jewels I believe. Love it just ordered a green one. Looks a lot like the Rolex sub hulk.

Meu sonho ❤
Hey man are you able to confirm for me what material the bezel insert is made out of on this watch?
I'm hoping we'll get 40-42mm soon or later.
Thanks for the great review always.
I have the grey bezel one and I absolutely love it! The bracelet is ok as its a strap monster of a watch but WHY DIDNT THEY OUTLINE THE DATE WINDOW!!!!!
Because of the lum
Because they usually reserve that feature for their higher end watches.
This watch needs the Zuludiver Lunar ‘odyssey’ strap! Awesome
Seiko SNE583 please. The green one
Looks pretty nice 👍🏼
Comparison should be with the Cititzen Promaster eco-drive
Why did seiko have to remove the day complication though :(
IKR? If you're gonna do quartz might as well go day/date.
Informative video, thx!
Keep presenting your true self...that includes the babbling. Great videos Rob.
Can do. 😉
I picked this up here in Aus for $570 new when in the stores its $850 or so I really like it.
Starbuy Australia has it for $470 atm
You can find under 400.00 US here in the US.
I love my PADI version.
Only thing about these models are the 3 different fonts on the dial. 2 is plenty, but 3?
A good waterproof/sylicon strap for sne585…any suggestions? Thanks👍
45.8 lug to lug? I've seen 47mm listed elsewhere
Any discount is appreciated🙏🏻. Yet if it doesn’t apply to most viewers around the world, it’s a bummer..
Do they make this in a 40-41mm?
Probably aluminum bezel. :) Tudor Blackbay uses the same.

Is there any AR on that?
Great value watch
this or tissot seastar quartz?
If the bezel was ceramic, it'd be perfect
These are on eBay all day for $270 brand new.
People stupidly complain about hardlex and then seiko gives us sapphire without any AR... absolutely goofy
Shop around because you can find them a lot cheaper !

howmuch
Great watch but $495??? WTF???
Solar quartz? Does that mean a battery?
Yes recharging battery via solar
It's good, but the problem is that it doesn't have an automatic movement

At the end of the day it's about the looks. Seiko looks like a Rolex, Citizen looks like your dog ate your homework. That's the bottom line.

38 sapphire vs 44 mineral
It fits smaller wrists way better.
Quartz 😕
again another crowd pleaser from Seiko..
Great for a lady
It's two jewels
