What happens to a Cessna under the sea? Scuba diving a plane crash site.

  • This short one is a bit of a departure from my usual flying videos, but one I think might be interesting for aviation viewers. On a diving vacation in Curacao, we dove the site of a crashed Cessna 172 from 1994.
    Edit: so apparently I was mistaken, this is not a Cessna, as someone on FB pointed out to me that Cessna 172's don't have a steel tube frame. He thought it's an Aero Commander Lark, and I now think it's a Piper PA-22-150 TriPacer. And a TriPacer did indeed ditch in this part of Curacao's waters in 1963. In that accident, luckily all 3 occupants got out safely before it sank.
