" When I built my summer tree house, I planned to sometimes live in it exclusively during the warm season. During construction, I did not imagine that I would live in it in the winter. But one fine autumn evening, as usual, I lay on the bed of my wooden house and looked at the burning fireplace. I thought about how good it was here, this house was my fortress, the embodiment of a dream and a cozy refuge of my own. I was sorry that the cold would soon come and I would no longer be able to stay overnight here. But then the idea occurred to me that I could insulate the house and remodel it a little so that it would also be warm and comfortable here in winter. The next day I bought all the necessary materials and got to work. I insulated the floor, then the walls, and later replaced the windows and roof with more airtight and energy efficient ones. The whole job took me about two weeks, and I was extremely happy about it. Now all that remained was to wait for winter and frost to check the renovated house and how warm it would be here. Autumn that year was long and relatively warm. It was comfortable here at this time of year, but I needed to test the cabin in extreme cold conditions. And then the first day of winter came, and a miracle happened! From the very morning it began to snow lightly, which gradually intensified. The fallen autumn leaves were covered with a thin layer of snow, and the air temperature began to drop below -10 degrees Celsius. A storm warning was broadcast on the radio; the blizzard was supposed to last for about a week. I had prepared enough wood for the fireplace, so I was calm. By evening the snowfall became so heavy that it was a little scary. The howling sounds of the wind came into the room, combined with the sounds of the fireplace, this gave me special pleasure. I looked at the thermometer outside the window, it read about -20 degrees Celsius. Despite this, the room was so warm that I was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. This indicated that the house was ready for a harsh winter. I was happy because I could spend this winter here in comfort, coziness and safety. "
