Powder Coating Cold vs Hot Flocking
In this 710 Performance vlog we're testing the different between hot flocking and powder coating a part cold. We're using Wet Black powder coat from Tiger Drylac (bit.ly/tiger-d...) and we're using the same settings on our KF-X1 powder coating system for both the cold piece and the hot flocked piece. Have you ever wanted to learn how to hot flock powder coat? You simple warm the piece before you coat it. It's best to not coat until the piece is 190º or lower.

We're also testing out a new holographic flake spray that many of you have asked us if we could re-create. This is with a spray can effect, and is separate from the powder coat process.

I just did a D16 valve cover the other day, hot flocked the base and hot flocked the clear coat. Had a great finish with no drips.

People say those who hot flock don't know how to use their equipment but we have to adjust our spray patterns accordingly. Its not easy to get a good finish with low end equipment.

H thank you for the content, one question if I May, What's outgassing? And what's the purpose of that process?
You heat the wheel before you media blast them, we usually heat them at 420º (part temp) for 30 - 45 minutes. It's to get any contaminates out of the metal.

no we did not
I cant seem to get into tight areas or sharp corners?? And if I do then I get orange peel.. idk wjat I'm doing wrong I follow tds sheet with IR gun
sounds like you're getting it too thick, or it's not heating up quick enough. what gun are you using?
@@710performance eastwood duel voltage with a dedicated ground running outside the building.. low psi just doesn't want to stick to sharp edges or if it does it looks like heavy orange peel

Why did you switch from East wood pcs 1000?
Because we wanted a better system.
Is It tacky to the touch?
Nope. After 1-2 minutes it was totally dry
