I don't know if ShortCircuit did that before, but playing a "wrong" sound when a host says something that is not correct is an amazing idea. I don't always look at the screen when enjoying the content so sometimes I might miss a visual correction, thanks for adding the sound!
They started doing it as part of LMG's commitment to increased scrutiny and accuracy following their recent big controversy. It's a good change. Previously, an incorrect assumption such as that likely would have gone unchecked.
This video needed a helmet, and camera stabilization. The only reason to film something with that much camera shake is if there is a Bigfoot in the shot. :)
I would be extremely hard to build several different sets of muscle memory for the slightly different performance you will get at each "help" setting under different conditions like surface traction, humidity, slope angle, etc.
@@no_ideaman thats why i keep my pevs at max speed. if you kept them at max speed youd get used to it pretty quickly. i have an electric skateboard that pulls pretty hard and although thats much easier than rollerblades as im familiar with both, im able to full throttle and slam on the brakes no problem. id love to get my hands on a set of electrified rollerblades
Kinda wish they'd do a video on why manufacturers could possibly be using mini or micro USB connectors for simple charging stuff on new products. Did someone buy a trillion of them and now they're simply cheaper than USBc to charge random junk?
I feel like Linus has mentioned it before, but essentially USB-C includes some processing and a controller, which adds non-insignificant cost. Whereas I think microB is much simpler, and therefore much cheaper to use. Edit: microB super sucks though. IMO it's worth it as a customer to pay whatever that cost delta is for the more robust type C connector
@@IsaacRifkinAs long as you don't need more than 5v, you only need two resistors to use USB c. The bigger problem is that the port itself costs 10-20 cents more.
@@IsaacRifkin That makes some sense, I wasn't really aware it was "significantly" more expensive. I'm aware of a slight improvement in manufacturing costing 20 cents really adds up when you make a million of the widgets, but when everything is rounded up so heavily to $xx.99 anyway, do the extra 10 cents in cost really blow away bottom lines to make an actually good product that more people will want to buy?
I use to roller skate when I was a kid. I am pretty sure I was going a lot faster than 30km/hour too. I'd pass cars on the streets. I always enjoyed that look of WTF from drivers when you roller skate past them. lol
I did about 55 kph once (years ago, when I had much lower self-preservation instinct) and it was pretty scary. Considering the amount of bruising and scraping a fall at a way lower speed caused on a different occasion, when a rock blocked my wheel and I got catapulted forward, I don't feel much attraction to powered transporters with such tiny wheels.
I think the moonwalkers are more intuitive because they actually require you to actually walk. This is like you have an electric skateboard on each foot.
I can see these being better than other forms of transportation because they can fit into a backpack. If you're someone concerned about your bike being stolen or a scooter taking up too much room, then this is the perfect solution.
Exactly! Some of the worse camera work they've done in recent times. Even the GTA5 drunk camera shake is more stable than this crap. Gonna make people puke! 🤮
I feel like we're living in the future. Then I forget I'm from the late 1900s, and I travelled in time linearly to end up right here in this moment, watching this video! The shoes seem legit. I'd probably crack my head open the first time I use them, though.
Great video. I'm not in the market for anything like this, but it seems to me like their biggest advantage would be the fact that, unlike a scooter or anything else, you could throw them in a backpack You should have demoed the ltt backpack with them in it. You leave your apt you go down to the street, pull them out of your backpack, zip over to your work, throw them back in your backpack, set it beside your desk. No chance of them being stolen.
There are some electric scooters that fold up and you can hang them on the outside of your backpack, out under your desk, etc. I mean these are definitely smaller, but I think the lack of an immediate stop makes me more certain that theft is a better alternative to being roadkill.
Bend your knees, when you are on any PEVs, bend your knees, one it’s more stable, and you won’t go flying when you hit a bump or holes. And always lean forward when you’re accelerating and put your weight back when you’re breaking.
And let us not forget the utility... in the Canadian winter with lots of snow.... One can still attempt to go around on a bicycle, using this will be a death wish. I do appreciate the orange vest/coat more people should be wearing that in traffic.
that's just a general rf remote, my electric skateboard has the same one, a lot of rf electric vehicles, do and its common for those to break, had a friends strap snap after he dropped it once
Yeah, the moonwalkers are still more interesting. Wonky as they are, they at least use an intuitive method of locomotion and can function in a stairs heavy environment safely.
I agree with the closing statements. My commute by foot is 37 minutes just about and I would sooner use my bike than these. I like the size of these its just not it.. lol I want a different solution.
If the terrain is suitable, check out electric longboard. I used a Boosted Board daily for four years, which cut down my walk to 25% of its original time
Problem on some commutes would be crowded sidewalks. How many people are going to get knocked down due to not braking in time or braking too quickly and you fall forward into someone. Plus, with all slowing down and dodging normal walking people, may as well just walk, too.
I would be concerned with the wheels catching on something, but the small size is quite convenient. I prefer my electric skateboard with large wheels myself though.
Only people with private land get to use E-scooters in England. They're illegal for public highways here. I doubt these Rollwalkers will do any better. Those heelies were really popular though back in the day.
Hmm, those wheels are gonna be rough in the real world. Any bumps, cracks, or anything larger than small debris on the road is gonna send you to your face.
the protective gear alone is worthy enough to be in anyone's "outside activity box"....if protective gear looked that nice, i'd maybe even wear some just for the style alone...it's like modern armor
I love the modmic, unfortunately the kimura is kinda bad for the price. Noisy cable + no included wind/ pop filter + Omni direction mic that picks up all the environmental noises
since they are self driving they'd probably run into various regulation traps. Like needing an insurance, registering, driving on the road (that's scary). E-scooters have been regulated into oblivion here in Germany for that reason.
electric scooters / bikes technically are illegal without a driving (or motorbike?) licence as well as insurance here in the UK, I'm sure that's the case elsewhere and actually makes this a bit more compelling imo. would be nice if LTT took differing laws etc into account.
Wouldn't these also need a license? They are still technically an electric vehicle. In my country (Sweden) most electric scooters on the market is technically illegal without a scooter license but it all depends on the motor's effect and maximum speed. (250W and a max speed of 20 km/h, anything above that requires a license to operate/drive)
I don't know if ShortCircuit did that before, but playing a "wrong" sound when a host says something that is not correct is an amazing idea.

*EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER SOUND*
Could be followed by "actually, [how it actually is]", during which the picture would be paused.

it’s kinda funny too
Yes! A lot of times I consume LMG content while doing other stuff so my eyes are not always on the screen. A footnote correction is not enough.
Every time they do a semi dubious product like this I'm half expecting the opening sponsor they segue to, to be a life/health insurance company.
Dude did not even wear a helmet. Yes I know he is James but everyone is a dude, dude.
Colton: write that down! WRITE THAT DOWN!!
Linus and Luke have been on record saying how think medical insurance is a scam.
Yeah in Seattle these things are a great way to die xD
@@Kyle496You realise Canada has Universal Health Care right?
The US health insurance system is a complete scam and a wrought.
We have come full circle to where you should just buy rollerblades

Regular style rollerblades with 50W in each would actually be great. Would make them much more feasible in cities with a lot of vertical climbing
I would be extremely hard to build several different sets of muscle memory for the slightly different performance you will get at each "help" setting under different conditions like surface traction, humidity, slope angle, etc.

Those magnet clasps are so cool, a friend's bag uses them too. They're by a company called "fidlock".

do you know the brand of the bag?
You guys! Fantastically compelling demo of why good image stabilization is a must.
I love how he says be safe, then proceeds to ignore literally the most important piece of safety equipment.

and this is where the Air Gear anime starts off
if they went with a roller blades form instead of a roller skates form then they might have had something. It would fix the safety issues too
