Red Team (Lethal armed) is the devils you send in to get the job done... Blue Team (Less-Than-Lethal armed) is the angels you send in to bring the lost home.
Lead is there to ponder the why... and the how.

I had realized what I had done, but it was too late. They gave me no choice but to open fire. The only ones left in the house were the parents. As I cleared through the silent house that was once home to a family just trying to help their mother, I had almost felt as if it was my fault that it had happened. I had a job and got it done. But at what cost?

    • @pardnergaming2136
      @pardnergaming2136 5 месяцев назад +11

for me I had to think long and hard about both what i did, and what they were doing.
the Tran family were not evil, and everything they did was done out of necessity rather then want, however their actions were still in my eyes non justified.
they enabled countless many criminals across Los Suenos to not only commit crimes but to get away with them too. untraceable pistols, automatic modifications, and god knows what else. all of these came from their operation.
It cannot be confirmed nor denied currently but it's entirely possible that the Tran family modified the very same weapons used in the watt collage shooting and neon nightclub incident. It's even more likely so that they were used in the meth house, gas station, and coyote tunnels. considering that all 3 involve to various degrees Los Locos, the primary customers of the Tran family's operation.
and ultimately death is a natural part of life, and while I can understand how coming to terms with that when it is someone like your own mother may be hard, I don't think i would justify committing to something like this, at least it wouldn't in my eyes.

I have never considered gaming or video games as that much of a big deal until I played this mission, as someone who's seen something similar in recent past I could see myself in the Tran brothers. I just stopped playing when the piano kicked in and took a few minutes to recollect myself, everything just came rushing back. (its not that deep I know) but shoutout to Zack Bower for coming up with this masterpiece.

I went in lethal, suprisingly all three brothers lived, but one suspect i believe was a friend who helped plan the whole thing decided to continue resisting despite the house being flooded with tear gas.... One brother lost a hand, another brother ended up with a busted kneecap, the third was fine.... When i realized the context of everything & did a head count of the suspects i said "....this is the luckiest family I've ever seen"
The could've lost it all, and although the family pulled through, they lost a friend. After i beat the campaign once i went back to get the S rank.... That same friend took WAY more pepper and beanbag rounds to subdue, thinking he was the only one there who CRAVED the great beyond XD

We are all doing good. The Trans and D-Platoon are doing what it takes for the people they love. But it’s always down to the extent we have to go. Both sides showed they will pull no stops.
It’s amazing how this mission is exposing the true beliefs in members of the community.

    Wow. This made me cry.
I kick the front door in, and I see the father looking at us.
Tell Alpha to go detain him, and then I hear a flurry of gunfire.
The brother's friend has come down the stairs and shot and killed Alpha.
I put extra rounds in his body even after he was dead and got an unauthorised use of deadly force.
    Then I found the mother.
Brother was in the bathroom of the room and burst out.
He shot me a lot. I actually almost died.
It's the only situation where I've EVER drawn a magnum.
    Then, the piano set in.
    I realized,
    are we the baddies? 😭
These guys were fighting to save their mother. In debt from paying for medical, struggling to make money, sold weapons to lethal criminals in the streets of Los Sueños..
I looked at the house around me.
    Desolate.
    Desolate, cold.
I felt genuine anger, at both myself and the brother who I'd just shot.
    I actually screamed in person,
    "WHY?!"

I went in lethal not realizing fully the context of what was happening until I realized that despite using lethal force. In my video you can even see that we got lucky and even though the teenagers were armed we managed to only take them down with incapitcation rather then killing them. That's much more successful then the alternative. My AI SWAT members did a fine job. It's a heart breaking situation. But this mission was actually really down to earth with how real SWAT raids sometimes happen and go down. It's typically not pretty, nor is the circumstances.
But everyone still made it out alive despite injuries and trauma. Those kids will do time sure, but they get to live. The family hopefully will somehow pull through to a different chapter in life even after the mother passes. It's sad but it is indeed like real life. Life goes on. That's much better then how my raid could of happened when weapons were drawn on each other.

My experience with SWAT 4 game prior to this one lead me to expect all the dark side of environmental storytelling through mere dialog and slow, unsettling realizations that are augmented by the rush of adrenaline that fades into the cold truth of the situation.
I played the prior versions of RoN before launch, but first coming to this mission I ran across the father in the living room and the first thing he said was something along the lines of 'Oh no... I knew this day would come" and I immediately understood the gravity of the situation and it is why I have Blue Team always set up as the LTL crew while Red Team is the Lethal arms with shields. That first time going into the attic... I really was not expecting there to be three of them and one shot I fired completely destroyed one of the brothers.
I felt bad about it in the moment, hearing the screaming and then the report for medical... but the black hole sunk in when one of the officers found the elder and commented "... Yeah, it looks like cancer."
Not many games can punch you in the gut as you stare at your 'high score'.
