    INFJ here. I do think we could get more than one answer by the same personality though. My answer is that both Abby & Dan did a grave mistake, each in their own right. Charlie is an obvious villian, who only looks for his benefit.
    Both Abby & her friend Dan failed their closest friend when tested.
    Brian relies on his companion's loyalty in their relationship, which Abby ruins defeating her own purpose.
    Dan didn't do the minimal any true friend would & should do; he had the means to help his friend & didn't for fear of losing material gain or favor!
    I think this question would be too broad to differentiate between types, but I'm always looking forward to your insights Eric.
    I liked the poems one. These typing questions are needed, and you're the man Eric.

      @@Talkingwithfamouspeople There were more differences than I expected! I shared Abby's story with an ESTJ female who ammediately gave her opinion of Abby being wrong for not honoring herself therefore, second was the scumbag Charlie; she said all else happened because of that. So when asked about Dan, she didn't have anything to say! (Te).
      Asked my ENTJ daughter who ammediately put Charlie as worst, and blamed Brian for not coming across himself.
      My son, an ESFP blamed the so called friend Dan.

  • @appletree6898
    @appletree6898 5 лет назад +5

    My thought was that Dan is the worst, because it's established that he and Abby are friends, and Dan understands exactly why getting across the river is important to her, why it's so difficult and dangerous, and what she will have to go through if she takes the trip with Charlie. But, even after finding out what Charlie is like, he puts doing business with Charlie first and leaves his friend to the consequences. I have Fi in the first slot, so maybe that is relevant to my answer.

  • @boogiewoch9507
    @boogiewoch9507 5 лет назад +5

    I assumed Joe was going to go on a hike to go panning for gold as soon as you mentioned the pan.
    The second question is a hard one, as it's not something I'd answer naturally. I don't like judging ethical situations as what is good and bad is massively subjective to an individual, so I feel the results may be too inaccurate, and personally I have no interest in seeing who is good or bad and applying ethics on situations. I'd rather just know the events of a situation. But if I had to answer anyway, I'd say Charlie as his actions were what started the chain reaction of other morally bad actions, and the other people who done bad things done so because they thought it was justified, whereas Charlie didn't care about what was wrong or right, he was just lustful, thus making him the most morally bad.
    For reference I'm an INTJ

  • @FlagrantVagrant

    Regarding the Why is this better question.
    I had previously associated Ti tool function with the conceit of "objective" judgments of artistic quality and not Ni, having to do with my annoyance at the chorus of people that relentlessly tear apart works in the sci-fi/fantasy genre space, and the notion that the existence of a certain identified trope or cliché can make a work "objectively bad" such that all people will view the work as being less good as a result of things like plot-holes and inconsistencies.
    For me the distinction between "It was bad" and "I didn't like it" is a gargantuan one, glaringly highlighting the dichotomy between the interested and disinterested calculus.
    Care to explain yourself and how you see this topic?

  • @pastorpersonality
    @pastorpersonality 5 лет назад +15

    My first (ENTJ) inclination was that Bryan acted the second worst. Charlie takes advantage of a person in need. He's the worst in my opinion. Abbie is willing to do anything to see her boyfriend because she loves him that much. Bryan, however, only sees her sin - not that it came from a place of love for him. So he will not forgive one single action. I would put Abbie in some kind of moral middle ground. People with no means make sacrifices like she does every day (people in poverty, etc). Ernest does what I probably would have done. So....maybe I have an issue with self-righteous people like Bryan.
    I think an issue with this story is degrees of morality wouldn't be agreed upon by every listener.
    Troll story: My first inclination was "nuke the troll" - Must be a Te thing.

      @Elimbi1 5 лет назад +2

      She didn't do it out of love, it was pure selfishness(Fi) and a shocking lack of empathy on her part. Apparently the question "what would my boyfriend think" ? (TE) didn't cross her mind even once.

    • @paddyd50gamer86
      @paddyd50gamer86 5 лет назад +4

      Charlie was the worst I agree with that. He was in a position of power and he abused it. He could have just refused her without money or if he knew her gave her a bit of leeway on payment. Instead how he acted was sleezy and in my opinion immoral. Abbie acted selfishly to a degree. She could have earned the money by other means or waited for her boyfriend to come see her etc. She acted impatiently but at the same time she did it for what could be considered moral reasons ie to see the one she loves. Although if I'm not mistaken she looked on with glee as her ex got punched in the face so she acted spitefully there ie she was very immoral. The guy who punched Brian another very big culprit of being immoral. He had nothing to do with it and he committed an act of bodily harm based off his bias opinion of what was just. This was both wrong morally and legally not that legal matters in a moral philosophy problem. The boyfriend could have been more forgiving. He should have weighed up that she wanted to see him with the act she committed but instead rushed to kick her out even though she percieved it as her only option to see him and by acting the way he did left her stranded. This was immoral too. The friend who refused had no moral responsibility at all, he was the least morally wrong one imo. So ya pretty much the order I mentioned is the order I think that were morally the worst.
      For the troll problem I was thinking you could distract the troll above the bridge and transfer the food below the bridge probably with rope and some kind of rope and pulley mechanism to get it across. He said they are going into winter and I don't k ow how feasible it is for them to survive winter without their houses/village etc. Unless they are moving over and back in the harsh winter conditions to eat the food at the other side of the bridge. That's at least my thinking.
      Btw I'm ENFJ 2nd slot Ni

    What Joe is up to was an instant answer for me. That one was simple.
    For Crocodile River I saw Charlie as the bad guy, Abby was a close second. Dan and Brian didn't do anything wrong. Ernest's action doesn't occur if Abby and Charlie don't have sex. So it's between those two. To me Charlie's indecent proposal was the catalyst for the rest. Abby didn't walk up saying "I'll do ANYTHING to get across." Also her initial reaction was to be faithful which makes me think she wouldn't have offered it up if Charlie didn't suggest it. He was the devil on her shoulder and a corrupting influence. She shouldn't have given in though in her desperation which is why she was a close second.
    I think my Fi might be acting as a filter on the results too.

    INFP E9w1
    1) As soon as you said "pan", I thought "prospecting"
    2) It is largely subjective, but talent is still talent lol. Until I started writing poetry, through, I'm not sure I would have an intelligent reason for liking one poem more than another. Now, though, I would definitely gravitate towards the content, rhythm and word choice and then symbolism.
    3) Jekyll and Hyde, the musical, is friggin amazing. The harmonies are so perfect and complimentary that give me goosebumps.
    4) I chose Abby initially. Not because she cheated, though, but because she laughed when the man she "loved" was getting beat up. But when you went on to say it could have been any of the people, not just Abby or Brian, I went with Dan. To me, it's a greater "sin" to turn your back on a friend in need WHEN IT'S IN YOUR POWER TO HELP- especially for something as "trivial" as business connections.
    4) I HATE the troll story lol. I'm not highly "intelligent", though. I heard you tell the story another time, and for some reason, it was lost on me that people needed to get to the other side (even though the farms are there and it's Winter *smh*). I thought of things like "well, don't carry your food near the river, dumb-dumbs".
    The people are weakened from rationing, so fighting the troll wouldn't really be possible. As the Mayor, I would ask for volunteers, among the people, to die. Something quick and painless. Failing that, I would draw straws.
    Even that would need a system though. Warriors would have to be exempt, because, what if the troll changed his mind and attacked the town? Also, no kids below a certain age or obviously pregnant women.
    Moving the people never occurred to me, but probably because the bridge was washed out and it's Winter.
    5) Will have to listen to that again lol.

    The proposed Ni polr tests are all promising i think, but it's hard to tell in advance if they are hard enough to avoid false negatives. Would be interested to see how known ESxJs answer to them.
    The crocodile story is interesting, but i think asking "who acted most immoraly ?" will put other functions in motion (Fe - Ti axis or Fi - Te axis). Maybe a more "purely Ni" question would be "what caused the whole mess". Good Ni will try to get to the underlying cause of the chain of events. While meh Ni or bad Ni will stick with explicit causes, not underlying ones.
    Good Ni answers would be Abbie's behavior, Brian's neglect (if he could cross the river he should have moved his lazy butt and done that himself in the first place) or the inability of the collective to solve its crocodile problem (don't forget the crocodiles !). The most abstract the answer, the most Ni it is.
    My answer to the morality question is Ernest.
    -Abbie's behavior is only "worst" as an optical illusion. As the main character we see her the most and we see her doing a succession of wrong moves. Give as much as "spotlight" to the other corrupt characters of the story, and they will soon appear as bad as she is.
    -Charlie is an asshole, and the fact he give her several choices doesn't make his proposal less bad. But that's evil by opportunity, not "structural" evil.
    -Ernest's now resort to violence while being irrationally sure he is doing the right thing and while he isn't directly concerned to begin with, which has a greater potential for evil over time, so to speak.
    Charlie and Abbie need to be spanked, but Ernest must be stopped before he ascend into full fanatical supervillain status. Problem is i'm pretty sure Fi doms would get to the same conclusion using a different process to get there.
    Could be interesting to ask both questions and see how well or bad people are at separating impersonal analysis of causes and character flaw analysis.
    The troll question is a very good one i think. I had it before you even started the spoiler alert. But i wonder... maybe Te would affect an xNTJ answer.

      I think you're right about it putting other functions in motion with Fe - Ti axis or Fi - Te axis. When I answered last night I saw the what the catalyst of each person action was and then filtered them based on Fi. So I think the answers can vary based on it.

    My answer to the Crocodile river story was C. A goes to C and C offers a morally questionable dilemma. A then goes to D, however D does not help A because he fears how C will act. A concedes to C, then loses her relationship with B because of C. Then E beats B because of his decision to break up with A. E is not really affected by C's decision directly, however more indirectly. A made the choice yes, however C was the one who put her in the position to act amorally.

    I've only begun watching the video but I'd guess that an Ni PoLR person may still guess that they're panning for gold given that things like a shovel and pan are useful items for panning gold (Te). ESFJs in particular aren't Te valuing, but I'd assume it's still decent in 8th slot. As for 'picking the best song', that could also be Fi (which is particular rather than Ni universal). Or it could be Te if looking at the 'rules' of music theory, or Fe 'how is this music received by other people?' (but in that case an ESFJ may say that different songs are enjoyed by different people and avoid Ni that way). Ni PoLR to me is someone who doesn't see how their particular experience demonstrates something universal. An example being how your video with Laura and Kim show the differences between an istj and an isfj, which though only showing specific people (Si), could still apply to other isfjs and istjs outside of you (Ni).

    Abby may have had good intentions, but she still made the choice to sleep with someone else so she's in the wrong. Ernest didn't force himself onto Abby but he's still manipulative and sleazy for putting her in that situation, especially when he knows about Brian (which we know Abby tells him about). Charlie could've changed his mind later, but even that doesn't really matter as he doesn't owe her a boat ride. Brian could be cold hearted for not taking Abby back (but she's at the very least naive even with good intentions for being surprised that he's not okay with what she did). However given the Fi impact of Abby's actions, I don't think Brian acted too extremely, even if he did beat up Ernest. Has the bridge broken before? Is there anyway the bridge can be fixed? I remember you mentioned there weren't any phones, so I'd assume it's be difficult to reach for help or there isn't the proper equipment around for anyone to want to take that risk (especially if there's a boat in order). Abby should've just waited until she had the money. Also maybe a Te system of a boat business should be in place (with smaller boats for personal use/ giving boat rides still being allowed to exist because it's more fair.. though idk it may conflict business interests. Anyone should be allowed to charge money for a boat ride even if it's not a business and nicer doing it for free imo). That way you don't have sleazy people like Ernest having as easy of a time manipulating people (Fe impact). Nor can a boat ride from a business be refused unless maybe for very specific circumstances.

    Abby should have gone down to the banks of the river where Joe was panning for gold, pushed him in and used Joe's gold to pay her way across the river.
    J/K. I instantly knew what Joe was doing as soon as you said 'pan'.
    The crocodile river story is a bit tricky. I instantly thought Charlie was the bad guy for his exploitation of Abby, but by the end of the story realized Abby is the worst one here. Charlie didn't make her cheat on Brian, nor did he make her laugh when Ernest was beating him up. Ernest sounds like an impulsive hothead, and Dan is a dick for not loaning Abby the money she needed. Brian is a douche for apparently not even trying to visit Abby (unless I missed the part where he's under house arrest because he's a criminal and Abby's with him because she likes bad boys).
    In conclusion, this story is full of shitty humans who gloriously deserve each other, but Abby is the shittiest of them all.

    Its so hard for me to understand what youre saying... I guess its a loss for those who are not native to english. The subtitles doesnt help either hah its a complete mess. Most of the time i just hear ghumedubbaduble yanghuneduneadu and then the story is over. Kind of sad cuz from what i actually understand and read through comments it seems ur getting onto something.
