A director from Sega said that they are too old and experienced and that a new 'Jet' would be from new youngsters who know what they are doing. Team Reptile is the youngsters
One thing Team Reptile are doing really well is drip feeding the right amount and type of info on socials or in TimRemmers' livestreams to keep you excited but without the audience getting burned out long before the game drops. I'm SO excited about this title, oh boy!
so cool to see you comment here, i remember watching your old jet set radio lets plays so just had a wave of nostalgia seeing this again. Hope you play Bomb rush if you get the chance.
honestly, more then the level design, the characters feel much faster and more fluid in JSRF then the original. It's the reason I can't really get into the remaster as everyone comparatively seems to handle like a brick.
I don't think anyone will argue against you that JSRF for sure is better on every level there is when you're talking strictly gameplay, personally I find JSRF to be better on every level possible though but that's more subjective probably. But on gameplay alone it 100% just is better at every step of the way, the controls on the original is incredibly janky even if you were to use the original controller. I think the only part I would give to the original is the ability to wall ride on any surface/wall, it does make for some pretty sick improvisation. That's why it's so weird to me they chose the original over JSRF for the remaster.
@@sirrivet9557 I actually could to manage that aspect fine enough. Was really only the full circle motions that caused problems. Maybe it was all those years playing fighting games on steam before having access to a compatible controller lol.
When I was a kid playing JSRF every day, I really had no idea what kind of legacy or cult following it would create. No one else at school knew this game. I'm shocked to see that there are so many people pumped about a new JSR
Getting the different skaters to join your gang was always fun even if you never use the characters. Just seeing them dancing at the GGs hangout was satisfying enough.
Way back in the day like when I was around 6 years old or something my younger brother and I got JSRF from our dad it had always been a game we were strangely addicted to it even though we didn't fully understand the story like you said it was just so fun to play, listen to the sound track, and just enjoy playing a gooood video game. I always said if they remastered JSRF I'd buy it instantly but now with BRC its looking like my wish is coming closer to being reality so thank you for making such a great video and showing the greatness that is JSRF!
For anyone who's never played Lethal League, I highly recommend it. It's one of the most fun and original fighting games I've played. It's all based around a ball that you hit back and forth if you're playing 1v1, and you're trying to not get hit by it. But each character has different hit angles and abilities that keeps the game fun and unique. The artstyle is amazing and the soundtrack is perfect. It gets really fucking hectic whenever you get the ball going like 1000mph.
Man! Jsr is fucking awesome, you should definitely give a shot. The gameplay is rough around the edges, but the ost, grafiti mechanics, and visuals are worth getting in too. Is hard not watch the gangs introduction and not dance along, is too good!
I still have my old copy of JSRF to this day. I go back and play it every once in a while. I dumped hours into that game but never beat it. I'm so stoked for BRCF to come out. The music, the style, it gives me chills.

I had never heard of JSR until recently. Yet when I saw the art style, I had just assumed it was made by Reptile games. So I think this BRC got the perfect team for delivering on this type of art style and sound!
I love how the JSRF/SegaGT bundle was 200USD with the console, but then retailed separate for 99¢ for nearly a decade because SegaGT was the headliner and JSRF was “the bonus game” Meanwhile you could get JSR at a retail price of 16USD still lmao
We got an old Xbox from a family friend and that JSRF combo disc was one of the many games we had. I absolutely loved JSRF, nothing like anything I had ever played before. I feel like I’m the only one out of all my gamer friends that knows what this game (or IP) even is! I was similar to you having a bias for JSRF as I played the remake of JSR years later, only to be disappointed it wasn’t all interconnected. So hype for this game
I'm honestly so mad that I'm only just now finding out about Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. I just got into JSR and JSR:F a few months ago, and they legitimately became two of my favorite games of all time within 48 hours, and I only JUST NOW find out about BRC? A day after the second teaser dropped?? I literally couldn't have picked a better time to become a JSR fan.

The reason why Jet Set Radio Future doesn't get a port to modern day consoles or pc is mainly because Microsoft owns the majority of the game's IP licensing than Sega. Which prevents Sega to make remake, remaster, or even a port and unable to do so. Although I don't know how true this seems, it's very likely to be the case since most of Sega IPs were exclusively on the original xbox and never seen the light of day ever since. So music isn't the only issue in this case. Note- There's a Fan made port of JSRF called Jet Set Radio future MP, made by Screenracer on Gamejolt. If you want to play some JSRF

Bomb rush and balan wonderworld are what makes me so happy. Back in elementary school I always played a bunch of sonic team game like Samba De Amigo and Nights and ofc jsr/jsrf. With Sega ignoring them for other big hits like Yakuza and Bayonetta, i’m glad these franchises like billy hatcher, nights, and Jet Set Radio are getting life breathed into them through a successor. It’s important to support them
Great use of the songs man. You did a really great job. I've loved that game since forever. Playing it on a damn 1980's tv and all bruh. 🤣 I actually had one of the copies that wasn't featured with another. I hope they can get it going. Sheesh. I miss that game.
The feelings you portrayed about JSFR hit me hard. That’s the exact same way I felt because I was one of those people for Christmas that received the bundle with Sega GT 2002. My siblings and I played the crap out of that game. Now the idea of them revamping it maybe in the future is an insane idea to me and a great one, idk if I can get behind this new Bomb Rush Cyberfunk game. It has the same look and illustration as Jet set radio but it looks just like super smash bros. I want that same gameplay and feeling. I feel like it would be super achievable especially with all the Spider-Man games they have made with travelling the city. Idk. It just bums me out it hasn’t happened yet. Glad there is a huge cult following. I’ve been following this idea for years. Excited to see what’s to come. Hopefully they can make our dreams reality with a deserving remake.
P.S. thank you for making this video. I was in awe the whole time because I haven’t seen someone make a video like this before talking about the future and previous developments of JSRF and JSR
Sega doesnt care about their fans. Period. When Sega puts out a poll, we tell them what we want and they have the NERVE to say JSR fans "cheated", that's all the proof I need. They only focus on 4 IPs out of their library of games: Sonic, Yakuza, Persona, and recently PSO. 3 out of 4 of those gvames arent bad. Sonic doesnt have to be good because its marketed towards kids. They only care about making money. Not making their fans happy. Been proving this for years.

Since Lethal League came out, Team Reptile was on my radar. The cel shading, designs and attention to detail immediately set off some alarms. Once the Blaze teaser came out, even without seeing Jet, I knew it was only a matter of time. Hanging around JSRLive since in the beginning, I've seen too many fan projects fall apart. Hover and other homages that blew over the heads of most were cool, but never quite to the level of the games. I hope Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and especially Team Reptile, get all the attention and continued admiration.
I'm about to learn y'all a funky fresh fact, Sega originally called Jet Set's style "Manga Dimension" And you know what? Strangely enough that's still such a fitting descriptor for what Jet Set's style is. Even as a cell shaded game it's still totally unique to only itself. Only Jet Set can be Jet.
I love Sega but I hate the way they treat their games sometimes makes me sad it's such a shame tbf I get companies wanna make money but Sega could have both money and the approval of their fans smh
When my step dad was alive, he bought a dreamcast for the family when it first came out. Believe i was around 10 or 11 at the time. We had house of the dead, 2k1 nba, and football, Sonic Adv 2, and a few more things to go with it..but I'll never forget that same night wondering what Jsr until we popped it in to play. I really wonder why they decline to make something along the same vein but hopefully they will go back that route with more online content and things to make it personalized like maybe a character creation mode, and starting gangs with friends online..that would be perfection 😍 BCR seems fine for now though haha
The reason I'm actually put down a bit by BRC is that it probably means we won't ever see a JSRevo, or at least not for several years. Sega won't make it if they think it'll be overshadowed by BRC. That said, I'm still wetting my pants in anticipation.
Thank god I clicked this recommendation. I really like your style-! It's giving me hardcore OG JonTron vibes. It's a vibe I didn't realize I'd missed as much as I did.
The wait is almost over. In 3 months, we'll see just how well they're able to carry on the soul of JSRF. I have no doubts that Naganuma's (and any other composers on the track) music will be a straight up banger, but pairing that with a fun game with a dope anti-capitalist/ anti-authoritarian message like in JSRF will be critical.
Still as much as Im in love with BRC its not the gameplay that I only care for with Jet Set Radio. Its the characters too. Even if a successor comes, it'll suck not seeing these characters in their own new spotlight ever again. This is why I hope companies like Sega go under someday soon.
Ngl as soon as I saw JSRF appear on screen in your video I was singing along to concept of love. I understand that JSRF was before my time but goddamn it is one of my favorite games to this day. The only reason I know about it is because I was hand me downed some games and I got JSRF and then I realized it was just the case... So I asked for the game for Christmas and my parents were able to find a copy online. This was at least 4 years ago and every since it's been one of my favorite games.
Well, i mean, jet set radio was one of the sega franchises that i never got to play (since i never had a dreamcast or xbox), till the hd versions got launched, and i had a blast! I already knew the soundtrack was great, just by the games naganuma worked in (sonic rush ost is fucking great), and all the celebratory sega games that had some jsr related material, but i didn't knew the games were so good, stylish and fun as i realized when i got to play the remaster. Since than i've been crazy wanting a jsrf remaster (since the fans aways say how that game is awesome) and something out of the franchise (and as a sega fan, waiting for something new of their ips is already a routine).
I'm so glad I looked in the related views and found this video. Your editing and energy is so good. Looking forward to the rest of your videos, past and future.
I've never seen any of your videos before, and I found this on accident, but I got to say you are awesome!!! When you mentioned fusion frenzy I'm like losing it lol

We got some viable confirmation that sEGA is working on a new Monkey Ball project, having the original announcer involved, so there's hope for Monkey Ball, and Puyo Puyo finally is getting some much needed pushing by SEGA in the West now.
Yooooo. I never knew about this channel until today. I'm glad I came across it. I'm getting top tier NakeyJakey vibes without it coming off as being overly direct. I love this dude, we shared the same childhood. I'd put money on him playing the hell out of a demo of 'airblade' on the PS2, haha. New subscriber friend :D

I was shocked when I heard about Naganuma being part of this
dude holy shit this video is taking me back so much, i had this on xbox when i was like 8 or 9
I was born on 07 and I am happy I got the chance to grow up with jet set radio, I am really glad this is coming out
Still as much as Im in love with BRC its not the gameplay that I only care for with Jet Set Radio.
This review makes me wish I had experienced Jet Set Radio much more.
I found out about this game yesterday from the new movestyle teaser, then found your channel and... instant subscribe. This was awesome!
Thank you so much! I don't have the time to post too much, but I'll do my best homie!
That bit about spit shining the skates made me snort my tea. Excellent work sir, you have earned this sub.
I love lethal league, and man, this guys are crazy, such potential in their games ;)
Now 2 years later it's finally coming out let's fucking goooo.
Everyone say thank you Team Reptile
I'm so glad I looked in the related views and found this video.
Your editing and energy is so good. Looking forward to the rest of your videos, past and future.
If LLB and BRC had there characters be in the same game, that would be amazing
is noone going to talk about the skit at 5:07 and how halarious it is? XD
Bro you said everything I wanted to say in this video and you funny AF too I had to subscribe 😊

Jet Set Radio Future - Birthday Cake
Best Song FIGHT ME
Dammit I really love that thumbnail
They have the Sonic Adventure 2 grind shoes with the style of Jet Set Radio and the swagger of a little known anime called Air Gear all combined into one new GEN BRAKING GAME!!!!!
Jet set radio evo wouldve been a sick thps style game, styling on the cops and tagging every surface possible
Been watching your videos for a while, came here from Moe's channel. You got me excited for something I've never heard about, although I did dabble with JSR when I was a kid. These videos are goated.
Bless you my man! Thank you so much bro seriously. Glad to hear you're enjoying some of the stuff. I know my interests are pretty niche, but I wanna share my passion with others.
We got some viable confirmation that sEGA is working on a new Monkey Ball project, having the original announcer involved, so there's hope for Monkey Ball, and Puyo Puyo finally is getting some much needed pushing by SEGA in the West now.
Jsrf is older than I am but my older brother got me hooked when I was younger, haven’t played in months but the game is legendary
This is the first video I’ve seen on your channel so far, but you look like a really enthusiastic, passionate guy. Keep it up man +sub.
bless you bro! thanks a ton!
Saw this video on my reccomended, and i was not let down.

Well, you got me even more hyped and you got yourself a new sub. Congratulations!
I fucking love your energy and straight think that has to do with also being blessed to grow up with jet set. (Future changed me in vibe in the best way man)
LMAO thank you bro!
