Boost karens. Epic. Pedal is great too. I love modellers but analog just works.
Those middle knobs seem key to dialing in something you like -
Sounds like something Id like in a parallel blender with the revv g3
( 💰💰💰)
Awesome thanks 👍
It is a very good tonal tool in the studio. It sounds really good in front of a four hole marshal. Jumpered of course.
Some people are calling this a distortion pedal, some are calling it an amp in a box. I just want to know if I can just slap this on my pedalboard next my other distortion pedal, or should it go somewhere else in the chain.
Seems like it works both as a distortion pedal and as a preamp pedal into a power amp.
every yt gear channel is shilling this bullshit so hard rn
Really the only difference is that 'Amp in a box' just has a better EQ than a normal 'distortion' pedal. Sometimes they are aimed to sound like a particular amp, it's mostly just so people can relate to what they are getting.
There are no rules.
I bought it and it works in all of those use cases.
With that powerful of an EQ it'd be a great boost pedal if you dump the drive all the way down
@@stevenkoppelkam643 it's definitely possible
Sounds like bend of a Marshall and duel rec. At first it seems to be a rip off of the metal zone or empress heavy. But the pot values seem similar to the empress effects heavy or revv.
I like the mt2w but the Jhs might be cool for a more useable and less extreme and actually mid boosted sound.
You think the Boss Metalzone sounds like a mix between a marshall and a mesa? What Marshall and what Mesa? If used for anything other than a boost the metalzone sounds like a Rat with a messed up EQ section.
@@shredenvain7 just meaning they both can get that 80/90s to early 2000s sound. But the metalzone leaning more towards 80/90s thrash death metal and the Jhs leaning more towards the dual rec sound of the 90s and early 2000s
eh......
I don’t want to come across as a hater but it’s kind of meh. I suppose it has a certain sound some people might be after. It’s kind of Metal Zone ish or HM-2.
metal zone and HM2 are two completely different circuits with 2 sounds that aren't remotely similar. Can't say I agree with this assessment as someone who ha sextensively played this pedal.
@@belligerentamateur I’ll check it out on your channel if you have a video up. I like JHS but I haven’t heard something from this particular pedal that grabbed me yet.
@@belligerentamateurI wonder if Gene Simmons has trademarked "Sextensively" yet
You totally come across as a hater
I think you grabbing yourself
My Tight Metal doesn’t need a boost, and it destroys the Hard Drive. Maybe the Hard Drive should used as a boost for taking an amp over the top, since it needs too much help to actually do metal. It’s a good “Hard Drive“ pedal, but not that impressive for $199 if you have any thoughts of getting a heavy sound from it.
omg you too??? Jesus, everyone shills the same shit.
hell yeah baby
JHS literally gave the list of people/youtubers he "hired" and sent the pedal to, for them to make reviews. He was as straight fwd as you can get.
In the end... you can hear for yourself and not pay attention to what you feel is shilling, fake or whatever.........
@emartinezr
Right, and partly because he admits metal is not his forte hence all these metal guys trying it out.
