Thanks, @alexanderbemis, for the fantastic footage.

I hope Josh and Spiritbox never let each other go. They're the perfect line-up, especially because Josh and Zev form a beastly rhythm juggernaut.
I agree. Everyone in this band are just smart as fuck. Respectfully of course :)
Agreed
I love that Sheldon himself is doing the interview. Where he could have a thousand different people interviewing Josh, he wants to do it.
Thanks, We love doing these interviews
Josh is killer…his vocals are amazing and he’s a beast of a bass player…one of very few I could actually hear in a “live” metal concert.
I just caught them (Spritibox) on tour with Intervals (their guy also plays a Dingwall) and they both sounded f'ing incredible.
@@ronlouthain913 Jacob is a beast as well…Intervals is on the bucket list. Going to see Plini in the fall…🤘
@@sheldonsmith9438 you're in for a treat. And the lead guitarist of Intervals is always so...happy on stage lol. Dude was ear to ear smiles the whole time while they just crushed it.
I hope they use his vocals on Spiritbox's new material. I realise that Courtney is a huge part of the draw but as you say his vocals are great, would be a shame to not have him sing.
@@barrettKiwi yup…u said it…when AILD brought him on they went to another level because of his voice…and bass chops!! …lol
Damn he didn't wanna say As I Lay Dying, just my old band.
Understandable tho
because he doesnt used dingwall he played with fender jazz bass
Im really happy Josh is in Spiritbox, he's always been my favorite in AILD and Im glad to see him keep making music at a really high level. Thanks for all you've done Josh.
Was stoked to hear him join spiritbox, esp with his vocals. Its what made AILD so great for me
Real shame they didn't include his vocals in the newest release (The Void)
True but maybe it was written/recorded before he came in. Im sure we will hear it soon.
I saw Spiritbox earlier this month and was blown away by Josh. His vocals are INSANE, he's the perfect addition to the band
I just learned more about F# in 5 minutes than I have the last 5 years
I wish Josh would sing more with Spiritbox. He has an incredible voice.
Met Josh after a show. This guy is super chill and brings so much energy to the band. I hope he stays!
Very cool that you mentioned the thing about the harmonics! One of the coolest things a bass player can do at these tunings is alternate between the root note on that super low string and then the same note a octave up to change the feel of a part.
Yes! The magic of stringed instruments ! Shaka!
Josh is such a monster on bass, I'd say he's very under rated and playing well above alot of his peers. Can't wait to see him continue up!
It’s good to see a humble dewd like Josh better himself and climb the ladder.
Such a mellow guy with a killer tone and a great voice! His singing on Yellowjacket is top notch!
Gilbert wasn't a member of the band officially until last month. The male vocals on Yellowjacket are Sam Carter, lead singer for Architects
@@Scythan I know, but he does Sam's clean parts live and he's damn good at it! Obviously Sam Carter is, well, a freaking legend!
@@Scythan he does sing it live though and it sounds perfect, maybe that's what this commenter was referring to.
@@mexicanmaggot666 I honestly did not know that! That's sick, I am amazed at the multi-talent of this band!
Fabulous interview. Sheldon is very talented, also a great interviewer. It’s very wise to let the artist, Josh, explain things. People looking to maximize their extreme low register tone got some wonderful tips.
I've always admired josh and his playing/singing, he's a PERFECT fit for Spiritbox. That pedal looks super sick, I wanna hear it!
This was a great watch! Really enjoyed it.
Love Josh G. in AILD. though I'm glad that he's now with my another favorite band, Spiritbox. 💯
PLAYTHROUGH? Would love to HEAR everything he was discussing!🎉
The thing is with a bass that low, the songwriting and guitar parts alongside will always outline what the note is, so the bass mainly does the work of just putting in that thick low end. Your brain already knows the note that's there from the other instruments which then make the lower note more recognisable.
Is that THE Josh Gilbert? I didn’t know he was in spiritbox. Right on.
I was lucky to find a dingwall pedal and play with it before, first impression was " ok this is a simple pedal" but dude this litle guy is awesome, holds the low end very well and has a great distortion on it, the best part is that does not need too much tweaking! Plays out of the box really well, very great pedal
is it based on the DG VMT??
@@sheldonsmith9438 No
This is awesome! Does that mean that Josh is running an Guitar AMP and Guitar IR for his High Frequency Channel???
We will ask him
His tone is awesome. I didn't think Spiritbox could go lower yet sound louder but Josh and Dingwall did it.
Can we get an interview with jake from polaris?
Did he say what string sizes he’s using?
I miss him in as i lay dying 😢
jordan and nick too
What is backsound name in this video?
If you mean the song, it's the Spiritbox song The Void.
"my old band" lol
yeah men, no free advert haha
one of a few men that pulls the bald look good
String gauges?!?!
F# sounds like a curse word. It's so low that it might be.
"His old band" 😑
Yeah. He absolutely wants to leave all that baggage behind.
@@bensunnyisaac what baggage Josh Jordan and Nick remained sour after Tim patched things up it was there sourness that led them to leave it’s all on them AILD is doing fine with out them as you can obviously see.
To really leave something behind is to be able to properly mention it in context and not be effected by it what so ever.
To not name it like it’s Voldemort is to give its grief power over yourself. JOSH IS WEAK PLAIN AMD SIMPLE HE LEFT AND JOINED ANOTHER WEAK BAND.
Yeah Ben I was pissed about that to, sure don’t mention the band that made you lmfao, the band that even though things got rocky made it through and had a great comback only to get rocky again because Jordan Nick and Josh are pussies, they obviously were effected way more by that turmoil then needed, Tim’s band Tim’s brain child Tim’s issues, they were all just along for the ride making money, once things got rough everyone’s true colors showed and then when they tried to make
It work and it did the real real showed cuz for Nick Jordan and Josh to get that bitchy about something after years and a successful comeback and not have the balls to even mention AILD, SHOWS ABSOLUTE COWARDLINESS, AILD is better off with the absence of Nick Jordan and josh, he’ll Born Through Fire album is 10x better then any SPIRITBOX album or MIRE album lmfao. FACTS!
Lol how about this BOYCOTT SPIRIT BOX UNTIL JOSH CAN MENTION AILD IN INTERVIEWS LIKE A REAL MAN.
Why keep looking back when he has his current success and great things ahead? He handled this like a real man by NOT naming them imo.
i like him he seems pretty cool
Is this Josh Gilbert from mundelein??
