Dingwalls are the real deal. This is the new modern bass tone.
thanks
I'm not usually one for the hype, but you're absolutely right. Complete bangarang tone.
Jacob, Charles, and Skyler are my top 3 bass players right now. They are basically unmatched!
I haven't bought a bass since I bought my Dingwall. It literally does everything. Fucking everything.
I would love to have a bass set up exactly like his are. The strings, the action, all of it. Looks effortless to play!
Mostly goes from his technique, he feels the instrument.
Foundational skills and far beyond, these basses definitely sound and look cool though
The dude is a great bass player. And good gear doesn't make anyone a good bass player.
But my Dingwall Combustion actually lifted my playing skills slightly higher. I tried different things with the Comb. Mostly because my previous 5-strings all had the same downside. The tone got was only great for one side of the spectrum. If I wanted a good low end tone, I had to sacrifice a bit from the high end and vice versa. The multiscale neck makes every note come through equally.
What an absolutely beautiful instrument!
The tone on these basses are unparalleled! I'm all about mixing bass more in the forefront and not so much of a background instrument and these basses seem to help set that standard.
Hell yeah, I hope he details all the mechanics of the bass and how each component affects tonality!
Update: He didn't.
Getting my first Dingwall soon, can't wait.
Freshshshshsh⚡️
Amazing tone! And nice guy playing the crap out of it.
Planning to get my own Dingwall after i finish university
I’ll buy it someday
Dude I got an Ng3 used on ebay and it is still perfect in every way, it is my favorite bass ive ever played and I highly doubt that will change any time soon
Lucky bastard
I asked for a quote for this exact bass in a 5-string model and it was like $6500. Definitely a dream bass, but a little too pricey for me at the moment.
I'm tempted to sell all my other basses just for this one
@@avalerionbass Don't do that! You'll be waiting almost two years to get one!
Get a ZON, I'm having one custom made for quite a bit less than that, and it's going to be fucking amazing.
@@tschaderdstrom2145 truth zon basses have always been ducking incredible
@@tschaderdstrom2145 do ZON still make instruments? I thought they had stopped or something?
get this man a strap when he's talkin! 🤣
such a crazy solid player, love his style, and his mechanics are unreal!
Wenge for fretboards is a great choice.
Dingwall = badassery defined
Oh wow. Drop A? Same intervals, just bass whole step? Or just your hipshot to drop your B to A? Sounds amazing. You are very lucky. She looks so amazing. I am also a huge Venom fan (i am a HUGE McFarlane GEEK!). You inspire me to practice sir. Thank you.
drop A would imply it's B standard but with the B dropped to A. If it was down a whole step, it would be called A standard.
Will stainless steel strings wear out the frets on my NG3 really fast?
I know Jacob uses SS strings but Im not sure what kind of frets are on his Z3
Sheldon has said in a previous video them frets are good for about 10 years with stainless steel strings.
SS frets last a super long time. I don't know of many people who needed to get them replaced. Just polish them from time to time and use quality strings.
@@chickenpasta7359 they werent asking about stainless steel frets
Hey does Dingwall offer 5 and 6 strings with 18+mm string spacing? Love metal but I also love slapping, and I have thick fingers, so I'd live with a giant fret board if 18mm are possible
I think the default for 5 and 6 string Dingwalls is 18mm spacing? The specs for my NG 5 string is 18mm at least.
The default for 5 and 6 string is 18mm. I wouldn't dream of playing a 5 or 6 string bass with anything other than 18 mm and up.
Nice body, gnarly tone, first fan fretboard I've ever thought looked good, but I'm not crazy about the headstock 🤔
Please make a JU signature!
How can I buy a machine from this dingwall in Brazil?
please send a email to sales@dingwallguitars.com
Signature model when?
On the works now!
@@DingwallGuitars Oh, my god. A-mazing.
In the meantime, could your channel do a very complete advertisement on what those voicing switches do on your Z3 models? That would be an amazing and useful video. As I'm saving up for a Z3 and I'm still very unsure exactly how those voicing switches for the individual pickups would sounds.
What is this man’s tuning. I can’t find anywhereeeeee
So is this going to be a production model signature or is this custom shop?
Does the 37" to 32.25scale length feel funny?
I play a 35" to 32.5 Scale bass and has been rather curious about those extra 2" on the low end.
Have a Dingwall combustion 6 string. Nope. It feels extremely natural and comfortable to play. The only part of the neck where I feel like there is growing pains is the upper register, like 15th fret and higher and even then its not bad, just different. Also for a 6 string it's 37'' to 33.25'', not 32.
I can only say, that I moved from a 34” Stingray-5 to an NG-5 about 8 years ago and I felt immediately comfortable with the Dingwall. No,problem at all.
And it is so playable, much less effort to play.
@@Fjongus Yea the neck feels just right, not too thin and compliments the hand position even on the lower register.
It’s actually 37”-34” on the 5 string. Feels very natural to play
Please tell us what brand and gauge is he using on the string.
He's probably using Dingwall branded strings
I don’t mean this as a diss, but the tone reminds me of an 80’s DX-7 synth patch like the Seinfeld theme. It’s a beautiful bass, not for me at all, but yeah if I played the type of music that this bass suited, I’d be all over it.
Tonewood? Is you sure? 🤔
Need
String Height.....
Need stainless frets.
Yea every one talks about dingwalls and every one sleeping on Kiesel basses I think they are personally better and look so much more nicer
