About two years ago, I was building a budget, budget, budget build. I was pretty pleased with the very cheap Montech 2. For about $30 it had tempered glass and came with 3 fans. I believe Greg's built in the Montech too, so check them out if you are looking for a cheapo case that actually looks pretty decent. I had a few quibles with it, but overall fairly please for the price.
So weird because I just put together a build today in this case. Definitely not the worst case I've ever worked with but you have to be extra mindful when it comes to building. Acrylic is notorious for how easy it is to scuff or crack, the front fan rail system is weird with the spacing, the PCIE punch out brackets punch out exceptionally easy and the extra stand offs which are included in the baggy don't have great threading. I saw the molex connector and threw it in the drawer of lost components. Overall for the price and cooling performance it was still "fine" and for someone just looking for a ATX gaming box on a budget.
just built in an Antec version of this case with a glass hinged side panel and 3 rgb fans for my wife for $80. Was a bit more difficult then necessary to install those extra stand-offs for sure. Case definitely felt/feels a bit chincy, but does the job fine and she thinks it turned out pretty. the fans are decent enough (2 140s and a 120), and powered off sata power. Also had enough room to install a peerless assassin. Definitely think it's worth the extra $20 over this one
i bought a Rosewill S500 prism in 2020 for $75 and today its $60. Comes with 4 rgb addressable fans. Depends on where you look how good cases for cheap can be.
Some of the cases Montech has coming out are near this price range and have far better specs/quality. I think they could really be the go to for anyone building a budget PC.
MetallicGear has GREAT cases that are having a rebate/sale. ITX/mATX/ATX cases, around $35-$50 after the mail in rebate. SOLID glass panel(s), STURDY structure, actual screws, etc. I HATE these cheap cases (montech, aresgames, mars, enermax, etc.) for the reasons he stated: cheap rear panel (flimsy and flexes), crappy screws, barebones fans (molex), terrible support (narrow), crappy rear pcie slots. Again PLEASE look for something else like a NZXT H510 (on sale for $50) or the MetallicGear I mentioned.
@@paulmeyer1001 The new Montech cases are much better quality than the old ones were. Hell, even the ones they started coming out with last year had improved in quality quite a bit without the huge jump in price...still it's nice to know there is another good option, but it sounds like it's a limited time only before going back to full price. Maybe the Montech ones will be crap, but that was not the impression anyone seemed to get from their setups at Computex this year.
One dirty cheap case I like a lot is the MSI M100R, it includes 3 4-pin argb fans and a fan/argb hub preinstalled. It also includes a tempered glass side panel and it's quite small (a drawback for some I guess but a plus for others)
I got an black Fractal Pop Air for $63 shipped from Newegg recently. I have an rx 6700 10gb in there and it could accommodate a much longer card. I am happy with it considering the optical drive bays and price I got it at.
Man the Pop Air is such a refreshing series when it comes to pc cases. When I was building my new pc at the start of this year it was the quickest choice of all the parts I picked after I came across the Gamer's Nexus video on it. I wish it had a little more front i/o usb and that they were oriented the other way, but everything else about the case is so fantastic
@@kelpklepto Which would be the best for better temperatures and silence? : pop air or pop air XL? It's like 25$ difference in price but XL is bigger and heavier.
yk, the Thermaltake Versa H18 is 44 bucks rn with an arctic p12 5-pack, you get some high performance value fans for $35. That's a really good-quality case with plenty of airflow, really good cable management space, excellent hardware support, one included stock fan, and a tinted tempered glass side panel with 5 fans for 80 bucks. Alternatively you can just grab a 3 pack of Thermalright fans for 12 bucks and hey presto, you got a hella good case with 4 fans for 56 dollars. One of those is definitely the route i'd go, as long as you're good with MATX.
if you want a cheap case I recommend the montech mesh eatx. $55. I got one for a temp case till the one I wanted was back in stock but I ended up not getting the other one because this one is pretty good and id rather spend the money on other things. it came with 3 argb fans, plenty of extra hardware, tempered glass. plenty of room inside for hiding wires, gpu, hard drives etc. and it comes apart easy for cleaning. we live out in the country and dust is always everywhere so I have to clean the pc out about every other week.
That's good to know as I'm considering this (in red) for my build, and it comes with 3 front fans and 2 external 5.25" bays so you can add an optical drive if you want. and they seem to run in the 50-60 dollar or so range normally.
My favorite "cheap" Case for budget builds used to be the DIYPC "Sport." $45-$50 and pretty solid. I can't find them easily anymore. Acrylic is a no-go. Though the DIYPC ARGB-Q3-BK would destroy this in the budget segment...if you could get one.
I think that Acrylic is preferable than glass at this price range, I have heard from many people with cases at the budget range about their side panel shattering by just removing or installing it. I would not count on glass to be any good in these cases (might do fine but might simply shatter). and there are many better alternative for this case.
I will continue to build in my Corsair Vengeance c70 case until it falls apart. $75 for great airflow, durable construction, and easy transport for lan parties via the handles on top of the case. Shame it was discontinued.
I built my pc 3 years ago, came in at around $700(different currency & tax). The Case & Cooler combo would be almost $300, so decided to buy used parts instead. Managed to buy a Thermalright SB-E for ~$30, but had to make mounting adapters for am4, and a Coolermaster Centurion 590 with 6 nexus 120mm fans for $30, 2 of the fans were loud, and the case front panel had less than half of the clips holding on. In my eyes a great deal: “life is a DIY project”, cheaper and a more unique pc.
In Europe, you can get an Endorfy Ventum 200 Air, which looks similar, costs similar but still has a glass window. And it has four 120 mm PWM fans included.
Greg thanx for breathing a bit of life into the build it yourself scene. I can remember dumpster diving at the local good will and spending maybe 10$ 20$ for a rosewill case... and a fan or two. Then 20$ or so $$ for an optiplex and poof a poor man's gaming experience for the price of this case.... hope all is well good sir. keep up the good work. Cheers.
I honestly think spending the extra cash on a good midrange or high-end case is generally worth it as it can carry you through multiple builds without the need to upgrade later, much like a good PSU. As long as it has the space and airflow you need, there's no reason to change it. Of course, you could build a computer in a cardboard box, but a good case makes building fun and less of a chore.
Just checked on Newegg and there is nicer looking cases in the same pricerange as this, even with tempered glass instead of acrylic. Acrylic sidepanels are a petpeeve of mine, easy and light vs. glass but it damn near scratches if you look at it too hard. I absolutely agree with you, you can get some super cheap cases that "works", but spending a little extra on something decent is absolutely worth it in regards to user/building experience. Stuff like extra space, rubber grommets, captive thumb-screws etc. just makes it more pleasant to work with, not to mention a lot of modern hardware running hot, making a proper case ideal (better airflow, better included fans etc.). People already cheap out on things like CPU coolers and graphics cards, having a 6 or 8 core CPU with a stock cooler and a cheap GPU with a struggling aircooler, can make getting a budget case a potential problem. I personally wouldn't want a hotbox like that. Btw, sorry for the essay reply lmao
I agree 100% I bought a Thermaltake case back in 2017 ish, and it is a full size tower and has 3 200mm fans and is quiet. I had to cut out hard drive cage to fit a 4080 trinity, because case was made when hard drives were a thing. It has a built in hard drive dock at the top as well as high/low fan speed controller built in and led color change button, it has filters everywhere, only con is the leds are built in the custom 200mm fans the case came with, I can get 200mm led fans, but not the color shift proprietary factory fans it came with. Im just glad they still work up to now and it stays on 24/7.
in my place, this would be considered an utter garbage due to the $60 price tag lol there are so many options below $50 with actual tempered glass side panel, and some even comes with PWM fans
Some of the Deep cool Macubes are dirt cheap and actually REALLY good! Great airflow and temps, cable management space, graphics card support bar, etc.
Last week I bought a case that is 130R here in brazil and it translates to about 26 bucks. It's basicly the same type of case, the acrylic on the side panel is screwed from the sides and it doesn't come with any fans and the 3.5" drive cage. Still for that price I think it's a good case to buy for the really budget builds. Love the vid ❤
The mid tower case MSI mag forge 112R comes with tempered glass side panel, 4 argb 120mm fans INCLUDED, can fit a total of 5 140 mm fans for upgrades and I even managed to plug in my 34cm/13.4” GPU. It costs only 84.05$ or 76,99€.
i got a Rosewill PRISM S500 ATX Mid Tower a couple months ago for around $50 and it was great, included 4 rgb fans, tempered glass, included zipties, ssd holders on backside, capsuled thumb screws and screw in pcie slot covers. rgb on the case aswell which was all controlled via button ontop. not bad for a budget case whatsoever
I recently bought a custom build PC last December of 2022, for me, I got a best deal in a cheap case for about 41 dollars, it is Tecware Flatline. It is an MTX Case, has 4 fans (1 in the back, 3 in the front) very good for it's price here in the Philippines.
Hey, Greg, long time viewer of you here, there's this case that's available in the local market (I don't know about the international market), but I'm sure you will love it at its price range. It's the "Aigo DarkFlash A290 Tempered Glass ATX Gaming Case", look it up, its about 28$ (3300 BDT) and it comes with three fans and a tempered glass, mesh in the top and in front and a lot of clearance for cable management and so on.
I am recommending a case to a friend who is gonna be a first time pc builder and user...she was a mac girl. The Deepcool CC560 ATX case. It looks like it has decent airflow and comes preinstalled with 4 rgb fans. It shows when I go to US pcpartpicker it's 60.98 with shipping from Newegg and the Amazon was 69.25+. I personally have never built in it but it seems to work well with pcpartpicker's compatibility function on for alot of options.
There are good cases with tempered glass for less. The Thermaltake Versa H18 is one that I've bought recently, and it's currently on sale for $44 with free shipping. I would rather avoid the acrylic window at this point, lol...
This case is very similar to my case: inplay's meteor case, costs 1250php, so around 20usd? Same all around, mine is in pink and with rgb in front. Very true to what you said, to make them cheap they only replace the front panel to lessen the manufacturing costs.
Montech may make a better choice, for example right now online it is $79.99 for the Montech AIR 1000 Premium Black ATX Mid Tower Case /3 x 140mm,1 x 120mm ARGB Fans included from Newegg... Or if you don't mind fixed RGB fans you could go with the Montech X3 Mesh 6pcs, 3 x 140mm& 3 x 120mm Fixed RGB Lighting Fans for 59.99 and both have hinged glass side panels... Or go premium with the LIAN LI LANCOOL II MESH C RGB BLACK Tempered Glass ATX Case - Black Color ,Type C Included- LANCOOL II MESH C RGB-X for only $99.99 direct from Lian Li... I use this is the black mesh performance version (no rgb)... $80 for a cheap case with cheap fans or go $80 to $100 for good to premium case?
@@rattlehead-he6mp I'm no elitist so I wouldn't judge you anyway. We're PC gamers and we get what we can afford. My main gaming PC specs include the Ryzen 9 3900XT paired with the RX 6700 XT and 32GB 3600MHz CL16. I have a dual PC setup. I originally started with an i7-2600 and GTX 1060 6GB. Then I slowly kept upgrading over the years. 🙂
As others have said, in that price range the DIYPC cases are good, and the ARGB-Q3 even look good. Montech has decent cases in that price range, as well as Gamemax COC cases. Most of those come with "OK" fans preinstalled and an rgb controller of some sort. That said, right now the tough parts of a budget build are the PSU and case. The case you can skimp on, afterall a motherboard box to rest it on will work in a pinch, the rest is just niceties. The PSU on the otherhand, has to be quality. Last night i built a new PC for my 21 year old son, using a 12700k and 6950XT. I had bought an EVGA semi modular 850 a couple of years ago and never used it, iirc I paid $75-80 for it, the only PSUs in that price range now are super sketchy, and i wouldnt trust them with that kind of hardware.
last month I went with a Fractal Design Focus G, got it to replace a DIY case from newegg. Some of Greg's concerns are addressed by this case, such as it is $5 less at $55, supports taller tower coolers, comes with 2 fans in the front. I guess the cons could be that it doesn't have a "PSU basement" but that just means one needs to be better with cable tidy-ness. In that case, I've got a 2600x and stock air cooler, an evga 1080ti hybrid card wiht it's AIO mounted as rear exhaust fan, an extra fan in one of the top fan mounts and still plenty of room. Maybe Greg chose this case because he wanted to do something different? definitely better cases adn deals to be had, I chose the focus G also becuase it support optical drives too
I recently found a goldmine of a case. The aerocool quantum mesh v3 comes with 3 rgb fans (controllable with reset button) and about the same size as this for 50 euros. Brand new.
Definitely no excuse for using a Molex fan, even at this price range. You could use a few Arctic P12 or P12 Max fans and still have really good perf for not much money.
in australia we can buy Armaggeddon TESSARAXX Apex 7 RGB Strip cases for 50 USD no fans but does have tempered side door , upto e-atx support and mountings for 7 sata drives & 8 x 120mm fans
I just bought this exact case... going under the name Nova Mesh SE TG.. came with 4 ARGB fans preinstalled and glass case, and the front mesh looks almost the same, but with their logo on the front bottom. Everything else identical, including the crappy wiggle pci bracket covers that i stupidly left in the unit after installing the mobo and had to gingerly wiggle for minutes to have them break off because they were rubbing against the motherboard. But for $55 CDN, I couldn't ask for better. Fit my 1 SSD and 1 HDD just fine, mobo took the NVME.
G'day Greg, For this type of build (just a GPU) I would go M-ATX, here in Australia you can get Antec NX200M, Deepcool Matrexx 40, Silverstone Fara H1M & Thermaltake Versa H18 M-ATX all with TG for $60-$65AUD, & M-ATX Motherbards are cheaper too.
I actually really like this case because most cases are so huge. this one is just big enough to fit everything without paying tons of money for those m-atx cases.
Very similar to the Raidmax F-01 case except it comes with 3 x 140mm fans up front and 1 x 120mm in the rear. Also has a tempered glass panel and the front panel is a bit different. Also a budget case at about the same pricing.
Good call, the F-01 is far superior for very close to the same price. Cases like this are deceptive in their cost because it's going to need at least $20 worth of fans which makes it more expensive then something like the F-01.
the Gamdias Argus M1 is an amazing budget case. much better than the one you reviewed and same price the Apevia Enzo is also a great case in this price range. Both come with tempered glass.
Just get Montech cases if you are going for budget route, their cost performance is unmatched Or better yet, just build the pc without a case. Modern cases don't protect the component from water and a lot of them don't even come with dust filters. At that point might as well not bother with a case.
I recently "side"graded from a HAF 922 to a Musetex NN8 case for $100. I feel like that was a really solid price for what I got. Mainly I wanted a better RGB show. The NN8 has a proper glass side panel that's on hinges so you can open it up for easy access. But a big part of the appeal was that it CAME with 6x 120mm aRGB fans (that aren't Molex lol). I expected them to be loud, and while they're not whisper quiet, they're much quieter than I expected lol. If I can get a few years out of them then those I'd say that's pretty worth it as some of the cheapest aRGB fans you can get in a 6 pack would run you $35-$50 anyways. Leaving $50-$65 for the value of the rest of the case. Which this is definitely better than the case in the video. The NN8, like I said, has a real tempered glass panel (that has the black border to cover the frame of the case), and has re-attachable PCIe cover slots. Musetex says that it can fit a 340mm GPU in it, though PC Part Picker says it can only do 325mm. But I was able to fit my Gigabyte 4070ti in there which is listed at 336mm. And yes, it's definitely tight lol. Had to slant it at a 45-60 degree angle to get it inside the case frame and then slowly move it into place to slot it. And it really is just about 4mm to spare. Though that's with the 3 pre-installed fans in the front. You could technically remove the middle fan to get another 1-1.5 inches of room. The main jank about it is that it was so close of a fit that the support bracket that came with it won't fit as it makes the card a few mm longer. So I used some extra 10lb weight fishing line looped through a piece of the backplate and tied it through some of the vent holes in the top. You can't really see it except when the RGB bounces off of it at the right angle lol. My main gripe is the amount of space on the back side panel for cables. Granted, I still run two HDDs from my first build in 2012 (I do have a few TBs of SSD, 2.5 inch and m.2 variety as well). Without those there would be less of an issue with cables. And I'd be able to remove the HDD rack that mine also has next to the PSU. I recently upgraded from the 3060ti to the 4070ti so I had to attach another 8-pin PCIe power cable to my modular PSU and THAT was a hassle trying to access the port with a full HDD tray and a mess of cables already tightly wedged in there. And the side panel took some effort to close and it does bow out a little bit, but that side is up against the wall so it's not noticeable.
I agree with idea of using this type of case on a cheap build BUT, you can get a better case on sale for under $60, such as the Montech X3. Jusat a matter of searching/shopping at the right time.
ya. i pretty much just buy all my cases on the used market. but thats just cause i have extra screws and what nots. only thing i like to do with cheap cases is to paint them. spray paint hydro dip, plastic bag method. all sorts. get some nice looks too.
I found a very nice case at Newegg for 64 bucks with tempered glass side panel. Here is the info: SAMA SAMA-Z4 White Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case w/ 4 x 120mm ARGB LED Fans (Pre-Installed)
Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow white or black. I have bought two of them, when they were below 70 E on Amazon. Unfortunately the price increased to 130 E. This case was grate for the price at that time
I recently went from an Antec Sonata III to a ThermalTake Versa H21 I had purchased in 2018. The Sonata was built like a frickin’ tank but had hardly any room for airflow. The Versa 21 looks a bit similar to this case except no PSU basement. Light as a feather (which I know isn’t necessarily a good thing). Same price as this one and came with a fan. I’m pretty sure it was PWM. Only complaint I had was there was almost no room for cable management. Something to look into if you’re in the market for a $50ish case. Mine had an acrylic window but I don’t see those on the Amazon listing anymore.
I'm building my cousin a entry level PC- Ryzen 5500, with a new Aliexpress 580, with some nice white rgb ram and cpu cooler with white case for 500, we are looking forward to putting it together!
I think the Rosewill Prism S500 is a better option at this price point and looks nicer, but I am glad to see another company trying to get into the budget case space. We need more variety at that price point because in the end it's just a metal box to hold all the good stuff. Thanks for the review!
watching this video I'm actually so happy with my P300A. Got it in February 2020 for 50€(!), bought two additional Arctic P12s for 5 bucks. And seeing what that money would get me now, I'm glad I pulled the trigger back then
Here in Australia 🇦🇺 we’re used to paying these sort of prices for this quality of pc case (unless a sale is on). I think that the USA is getting in line more with the rest of the world prices …. Slowly.
What do you mean sag from the lack of stand offs? The GPU and the CPU cooler are the only heavy components and they're not on the side unsupported.. also are you aware side panels can be manufactured to stand out and allow for extra cable management?
Kinda like one's first car.........Body is fair, reliable engine and gets you from point A to point B. Back to point A again fairly reliably. Another great video Greg.....thanks!
Looks to be a good choice for a simple build. Definitely don't want to do anything beyond M.2 storage with that, though it does appear to have drive sled slots on top of the PSU shroud. And a good budget choice for 120mm fans is the Arctic P12 120mm. Great airflow and very quiet. They're typically $30 for a 5-pack, but you can also find them on sale for under $25. Amazon has them for $24 for a 5-pack as of this comment.
If you thought this was bad, try the DIYPC Solo T2-R. $30 and its about as cheap as you can inagine except is has like 2 or 3 decent features you don't even find on high end cases. It has a perforated fan mounting spot on the metal side panel and hdd caddies that you can slide in and out of the drive bays. But it makes up for that with the worst designed front panel in history
this is hard to sell imo, the Montech Air 100 regularly goes on sale for $55-$60, it comes with 4 ARGB Fans and an actual glass panel, and even when not on sale, the extra cost of the fans for the aresgame case makes it not worth it at all imo
Newegg has some decent options under $60. I just built in the SAMA IDX8. ATX form factor, 4 ARGB fans with hub, good airflow, and lots of extra screws for $58.
56$ for that is a scam. For less than 60$ you can get a MSI MAG Forge 100M. Much better materials, full compatibility with big GPU, Heatsink and radiators, real temper glass, excellent cable management, 3 RGB fans included and nice aesthetics.
Rounding up everything (shipping rates not included), it costs a bit over 900 euros in Portugal. For a supposed "budget" build, it's more expensive than I was expecting (I was thinking somewhere around 500-700 euros). Damn inflation really hit hard, huh?
I got myself an Ionz KZ10 and currently it is at £39.95 here in the UK and the build quality is amazing for a budget case, it has glass side panel and much much better cable management than this one being reviewed.
I appreciate you diving into the budget build end. Yes, times have changed, there are still deals out there. I'm pretty sure the Zalman S3 is a good deal. I've not built in it myself, but I've seen a build up close.
lol I actually got that Phanteks case 3-4 years ago for that exact price. Was a great deal. Though I got my kid something dirt cheap from Amazon for $20. The Rosewill FBM-X2 Micro ATX Mini Tower. It was actually decent for it's price.
Is there a way to 3d print an brace *or something similar* for the 12VHPWR cable connection so it stop wiggling and melting the hell of 4090 power connector?
i just bought a cheap case as well not this one but it was about 70 bucks on amazon and its all mesh and a swinging tempered side panel i like it alot had plenty of room for cable management as well it is the zaleman i3 neo also case came with 4 fans they arent ARGB but still light up either way not bad for 70 bucks given the price of cases lately
Can you build in a GameMax Diamond case? Tempered glass hinged side panel, a behind the motherboard coc turbo fan, space for 8 additional 120mm fans (two of which can be 140mm instead) one aRGB fan included, four storage bays (2 2.5", 1 3.5", and one combo) magnetic dust filters.
I am surprised about the prices of budget PC cases there, I live in Chile and you can get a simmilar looking case for about 18 USD, obviously it will be a cheap quality case, but still a lot cheaper than ~60 USD 😱😱😱
As always you get what you pay for! But too be honest I have built computers in cheaper cases because the client had a limited budget! I think this case is not so bad! Thanks Greg!
My go to lately for inexpensive has been Sama. They ar enot a Lian Li or similar BUT I have a Sama case similar in size to that one with glass side, not quite as much front air (solid band up the middle) I picked up for $45 on sale. They have a larger case now not bad looking for $58 on sale with fans.... FOr a cheap case I found it to be decent looking. It is shallow so no big grapics cards....and not wide so had to be aware on the tower height and a little tight for cable management BUT perfect for the space I wanted it for and since it was originally integrated graphics then added in a 1050TI from an upgrade on another machine later it was super nice.
Today's Case market is really rough... The most known brands are either too expensive or lack features as included fans. Plus, the shipping prices are still high, contribuing to the stagnation of the market.
One man's trash is another man's treasure..still saving up for a rig. These kind of videos are so helpful.
I will admit that those Reference Radeon cards really do look pretty slick.
The 7900XT/X would easily fit in this case too.
It's dirt cheap? Well it needs PCDC to get rid of the dirt!
Makes sense
Good joke but Dad Joke.
bruh how old are you
@@leki2569 3
It looks clean and simple.
I just don't like the acrylic side panel. I think it would've been better if it was a perforated metal sheet.
exactly and lets not put like ventilation holes either who needs them LOL
Some of the cases Montech has coming out are near this price range and have far better specs/quality. I think they could really be the go to for anyone building a budget PC.
Very excited for those new Montech cases
Having a microcenter near me is a blessing. Got an open box lian li 205m for 51 bucks. Comes with two 140 front fans and glass side panel.
What a bargain!You lucky man.
yk, the Thermaltake Versa H18 is 44 bucks rn
with an arctic p12 5-pack, you get some high performance value fans for $35.
That's exactly what I did, also with those fans. I added a thermaltake assassin cooler as well for £17. The temps are really low.
if you want a cheap case I recommend the montech mesh eatx.
When I need a dirt cheap case, I usually go with the Fractal Focus G...You can usually find it for $55-$60 and it works really well for what it is...
Ouyeah!Thank you!It looks legit!
Agreed! I told this to my friend that wants to get into pc building.
in my place, this would be considered an utter garbage due to the $60 price tag lol
there are so many options below $50 with actual tempered glass side panel, and some even comes with PWM fans
The "I Cant Believe It Is Not Butter" Build. I nice 80's commercial reference.
Paied just about 30$ for a MSI MAG FORGE 110R, with 1 RGB fan included, has good airflow and i like it very much
I recently bought a custom build PC last December of 2022, for me, I got a best deal in a cheap case for about 41 dollars, it is Tecware Flatline.
I don't think $60 for a case is dirt cheap. That's a budget case, if it's dirt cheap it should be $20-$30
There are good cases with tempered glass for less. The Thermaltake Versa H18 is one that I've bought recently, and it's currently on sale for $44 with free shipping. I would rather avoid the acrylic window at this point, lol...
You can pick up a Fractal Pop Air that comes with 3 fans for $79.99.
I think this is pretty sick. I had plans to get my son a PC when he graduates middle school and this looks right up my alley
I go with a Cougar MX330-X or Fractal Design Focus G, before choosing that one.
I recently built a PC in a DIYPC case that came with 4 pre installed ARGB fans. $55 new on Newegg. And it fit a full size Gigabyte Eagle 6600
The Phanteks P300a, though more expensive, is still a TERRIFIC CASE! I love it!
My favorite sub $60 case is the Thermaltake Versa H18 tempered glass case. It's a mATX case but it's pretty good on a budget.
That's what I built my pc in.
@@rattlehead-he6mp I have this case and it kept my old GTX 1660 Super and Ryzen 5 3600 nice and cool.
@@ApexLodestar I've actually got a 1660 super and a ryzen 54600g. It's my first build so don't judge me too harshly
G'day Greg,
For this type of build (just a GPU) I would go M-ATX,
here in Australia you can get Antec NX200M, Deepcool Matrexx 40, Silverstone Fara H1M & Thermaltake Versa H18 M-ATX all with TG for $60-$65AUD,
& M-ATX Motherbards are cheaper too.
i like the case room for 3x 140MM fans up front, could make for good air cooling
Cases like this are deceptive in their cost because it's going to need at least $20 worth of fans which makes it more expensive then something like the F-01.
yeah for $60 this isn't very good
the Gamdias Argus M1 is an amazing budget case. much better than the one you reviewed and same price the Apevia Enzo is also a great case in this price range. Both come with tempered glass.
@ 0:35-0:38
-....and it doesn't look like it's about to fall apart because it's made out of....IDK....¡¡¡¡BUTTER!!!!
-SORRY, I CAN'T. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just get Montech cases if you are going for budget route, their cost performance is unmatched
Or better yet, just build the pc without a case. Modern cases don't protect the component from water and a lot of them don't even come with dust filters. At that point might as well not bother with a case.
Looks like a cut-rate version of the Montech X3 with 5 fewer fans, one fewer 2.5 mounting spots, and 100% less tempered glass.
To get more space for wiring you add a bump to the side panel. It works.
I imagine most people aren't gonna mutilate their new cases, cheap or not.
It's crazy how far cases have come over the years
I recently "side"graded from a HAF 922 to a Musetex NN8 case for $100.
In South Africa our mid range cases are very cheap, like 40 USD for Raidmax/Antec
I built my pc in a thermaltake versa 18 which cost me £40 it may be a bit older that is a really good case for a first time builder.
Well said!
It’s wild that you could get a fractal design pop air in white for 44 dollars a month ago. I thought this would be cheaper than 60
imo the deepcool cc560 seems to be alot better with 3 fans pre-installed would love to see a review on it kinda underrated rn
this is hard to sell imo, the Montech Air 100 regularly goes on sale for $55-$60, it comes with 4 ARGB Fans and an actual glass panel, and even when not on sale, the extra cost of the fans for the aresgame case makes it not worth it at all imo
Sometimes dirt cheap PC cases come in handy as I can cut and modify it and don't feel guilty like I would with an expensive case.
I've not built in it myself, but I've seen a build up close.
still looks better than the one i found on the side of the road with a Almost Whole System.
lol I actually got that Phanteks case 3-4 years ago for that exact price.
I have several systems running in cheap cases. Mostly for old parts assembled for those older parts to still be useful.
13:35 I bought my P300A for $55 during Black Friday 2020.
I got one a while ago for around 50 dollars
I am surprised about the prices of budget PC cases there, I live in Chile and you can get a simmilar looking case for about 18 USD, obviously it will be a cheap quality case, but still a lot cheaper than ~60 USD 😱😱😱
the lay out is almost identical to the Bitfenix Nova Mesh SE TG
My pc case was 35 dollars on Newegg!
That kind of chassis quality is just around 30 -40 dollars here in PH
As always you get what you pay for! But too be honest I have built computers in cheaper cases because the client had a limited budget! I think this case is not so bad! Thanks Greg!
Thanks for watching! :-)
Looks like an ATX version of the NX 200M from Antec. Super narrow, can't get big cards to fit without a dremel LOL.
The chassis is based on a gamemax f15 with a different front panel by the looks of it
@GregSalazar I would check out the Zalman I3 Neo. Includes 4 basic RGB fans for $75. Also has a mesh front panel with great airflow. *TG SIDE PANEL!*
Example the AR01 for $89 (normal) on sale for $69 currently
I have a 60 dollar case but it have tempered glass. It's a nice little case from Cougar brand
Today's Case market is really rough... The most known brands are either too expensive or lack features as included fans. Plus, the shipping prices are still high, contribuing to the stagnation of the market.
Montech X3 Mesh comes witth 6rgb fans included under 60€.
Would be my number one choise.
