Hello. I will make one because here in Argentina I can't! Thank you very much! Then, when is all that in place, what's going on? greetings from Argentina
Love it. Simple starter antenna. Though I can't figure why you don't trim your line down to 6 foot. Those dangly rope ends would drive me nuts when I'm riding. Thanks heaps
Do your dogs know the difference between loose leash walking and bikejoring? I’m getting two husky female puppies and will be starting them with loose leash training and not introducing bikejoring until they are older. I’m just curious if it is possible for them to understand the difference when the time comes.
Yes, they do! I first started them out by teaching them to walk on leash without pulling. They both associated the collars with no pulling. I would correct them if they started to pull. Once they hit 8 months, I would do maybe 5-10 mins a day of walking in a harness. On this walk, I would have them drag something to get the feel of pulling something in their chest (frozen milk jug, small old tire, etc.). My personal rule is that if they are in the harness, they can not be punished for pulling (even if they start going after birds). After a while, they both know the difference between the collar and the harness and what they can do in each. Good luck with training!
@@TheHuskyHut thanks. that was my plan to get them to learn the difference between a collar and harness. If you ever feel like making some vids on how you trained them from pulling to understanding the commands, I’d be forever grateful.
Is there a way to make something like this but fixed to one side so the I can take the dog but not have him pull me but rather just follow my lead beside me? Or do you feel if a dog is attached to a bike they should be allowed to pull? Maybe if they also weren’t wearing a harness? Thanks if you can answer this!
Great question! Pulling is just one of many ways you can bike with your dog. If you are interested in having your dog run alongside you (rather than pull you), this attachment might be a good place to start: www.amazon.com/Unicam-Retractable-Exercise-Essentials-Installation/dp/B08C9QVYCD/ref=asc_df_B08C9QVYCD/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459722389571&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2859071007901776147&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9029679&hvtargid=pla-1011513492957&psc=1 We haven’t trained our dogs to bike that way, but many people and dogs enjoy it.
Great question! I have not experienced any issues with the eyelet coming through. I have made about a dozen of these and have used my original one for 5 years now with the same piece of rope. If that is a concern, you could cut the eyelet so that it is not sticking through as much.
With the bungee around the handlebars, do you ever find the dogs pulling your steering away? Everything I see says to prevent attaching the leash to the handlebars but since its only the bungee idk if that's the same
Great question! No, I do not, the bungee is there to pull the PVC pipe out of the tires, they’re pulling the rope, which is attached to the frame of the bike, not the handlebars.
In Australia Non stop has a NSW based online store ...... they can supple two types of antenna . One stays attached to the bike the other can be clipped off when not required . Just for those who read the comments . But this is a good cost effective method . Plan to make one and have it on display at the next club day just for the people who want to avoid the $100 Aus Dollar spend
@@stevemartin5581 Sound's great mate. Unfortunately Merlin had to be euthanised on Friday (cancer). He was only 11. Good luck with your enterprise though.
@@brianedwards7142 Sorry to hear about Merlin , all dogs never live long enough . He is in great company as there are a lot off good sled dogs in heaven . Sledders get the VIP pass for sure .
So simple and smart example of perfect use of RUclips
Thanks for the feedback and your support

This is so awesome! Tried it out today and works great.
Very nice 👍🏼
Perfect, thanks 💚👍
I just got a 8month Husky pup ..thank you ❤ somuch for making this video. I will be setting up something similar now .
Thanks for this. Spending 70€ on a antenna when there wasn't much to the design bothered me so this is perfect and will do it this weekend
I made this. Works perfectly
Wonderful! Thanks for the feedback
"Made" mine yesterday. €10 solution in order to find out if I'm really in to it enough to start buying some actual gear. Thanks!
Welcome to the world of mushing! I’m so happy it worked out. Hope everything goes well and your dogs love it!
Wow! Thank you!!
Thanks for this super helpful video! How long would you recommend the attachment/line be from your attachment to the dog's harness?
I would say around 6/7 feet. You’ll want space between the dogs and the bike to be safe, but do not want it too long either.
thanks for the idea I just did it with my dog and works perfact, and had all I needed at home
Just what I wanted! Thanks pal, would love to see more training videos, as well
Glad this is what you needed!
Simple and perfect.
Thanks a lot. I just did it , I had all the materials at home

Alguien lo hizo??
I found this too late. Only a month ago I bought an attachment from Finland (I live in Australia) that cost 20 Euros to ship!
Bumer to hear that. Wish the best with running!
