Wow I guess I got the date wrong of the clip of me playing in London Trocadero. I was living in Kent at the time, so that would put it in 2006, not 2009. It's been 18 years! 😅😅 Damn!
Original EZ2 series ran on embedded version of Windows 98. Transion to XP happened only on EZ2AC EVOLVE (under Square Pixels, Amuze World was 4 years bankrupt)
Ez2dancer was pretty big here in Chile for some reason, and even made many appearances in live television back in 2003 ish! If you ask anyone who's +25 years of age they'll probably know about this machine haha
That's awesome! What was the community like back in 2003? How many machines? I don't remember how many, but we had probably over 20-30 cabs in the UK back in the day. Sadly they are all gone now. I think there is one very private location, but it's not like anybody can go and play it. I think you gotta ask somebody over 35 here haha!
@@s34nvideos Can't give you an exact number but I know there were lots, we even had one in my home town, 1000 kilometers south of Santiago 🤯 Community-wise I remember lots of tournaments were held in Santiago but I was very little at the time to join any 😭 the community was huge though and you can probably find videos of the tourneys in youtube still :P also thank you for visiting, it's always great seeing ez2dancer content in youtube!
As a Korean born in 2006, I've never seen that game in real life for a life long!!! Only I can enjoy is just EZ2AC now... It feels very novel for me to find Korean Arcade Game which isn't now at Korea in other country. (I wanted to express some other feelings too but what I know is just that 'novel' hahah) I really enjoyed your video, Thanks!!
You're welcome! I heard the last machine in Korea was in Busan, then it disappeared? We had a lot in the UK, but sadly they have all been removed. The same in the Philippines. I'm glad they still have a small active community in Chile, it was a really nice find!
This is literally my favorite dance game of all time. Back in the 2000s I started playing dance games in this. The local arcade also had PIU, but to me it looked lame in comparison to Ez2Dancer. I only truly started playing PIU after that arcade (which was the only in the country that had an EZ2Dancer) closed. I wish I still had access to a machine. Last time I played was back in 2017. I found an old machine in La Paz, Bolivia (perhaps the same cab I used to play at when I was in middle school). It was there for 2 months or so. Then one day when I went back to the arcade, I find out that the whole cab got converted into a bastardized PIU. They got rid of the stage, replaced it with PIU and also got rid of the game's harddrive and put PIU Prime in it instead. People were using the hand sensors as front bars to grab wile playing, or coat/bag hangers. That arcade had 5 PIU cabs already. This was their 6th. There was no need whatsoever. I've never been angrier in my 20+ years playing rhythm games.
oww no way! Imagine having such a rare machine and gutting it out to make a 6th Pump cab! That's madness!! I have seen people destroy a DDR Solo to make a Guitar Hero..... Gutting an EZ2DJ to make a hand pump and destroying a Beatmania to make a Street Fighter cab, but never EZ2. That's madness! lol
Cool to see one of these. I've never seen one ever, then again, we only have a handful of Pump cabs here as DDR is more popular so it wouldn't surprise me
I used to see this in one of the arcades in the early 2000s and probably among a few back then that contained a lot of obscure arcade cabinets. This along with ParaParaParadise 2ndMIX are very rare to find nowadays, at least from my experience.
Yeah exactly!! It's really fun! Not much of a song list, but it great to play now and again! It helps if you have a setup where you can rotate through the mixes though!
3:05 how the heck do they want you to hit both blue sensors and a green sensor at the same time? do they actually want you to throw your feet out like a goofball? 🤣or maybe stick your forearm out to hit both blues with one arm? also that licensed song list is nuts, justin timberlake, j-lo, blink 182 all on one game? amazing video, thanks for documenting this!
haha! Luckily there's a big judgement window to do a big swipe (Like Dance Maniax too), or you can karate kid that shit and get the feet involved! I think I did both in the video. The song list, I mentioned the story briefly under the chapter: "Big Jugs" lol... This probably explains it better: After the backlash from complaints about the UK Move's arguably poor selection of songs from the dance game community, David Swei, the European marketing director for Amuseworld , stepped in. Vykkye Nye, who worked as a PR girl for Amuseworld in the UK, used an online poll asking the (now defunct) Dancegames.com's site members to submit their favourite songs for use in the UK , a New Move. K-Pop was suggested, but David was adamant that he only use English songs for the new mix. However, "Get Ready" by Perry and YG Family made it in that despite the song being in Korean, it uses an English chorus . The final songs were selected and the mix was released So they just picked a bunch of songs on an online poll, Vykkye presented the poll to David, and the song list was done! Who needs licencing anyway! lol
Yeah, it is a little 😆 The hand motion games weren't really successful at all come to think of it: Para Para, EZ2, Dance Maniax etc... You saw a few, but nothing on the scale of DDR or Pump
Man this makes me feel like a teen again. Used to play this in namco wonderpark in Meadowhall years ago and at seaside towns like cleethorpes and Skegness but it was very tricky to play there when the dance stage was often caked in wet and dry sand causing you to slip. Last time I saw this game was about 2011 or 12 but was more or less dismantled and stacked away in an old arcade halfway between Skegness and butlins. Thanks for the nostalgia, I hope arcade club ever finds one of these cabinets one day.
@@mrpickles6968 That's interesting! What year? I used to visit Meadowhall to play on the EZ2 regularly in 2003 and 2004. They had an EM1/EM2 and a Taiko at the time. I only played on the Cleethorpes machine one time in 2007 One guy was selling one in the UK in 2013 for 500 quid on ebay. Crazy! haha! THe last time I saw it was 2012 in Ramsgate, but it was broken. Sadly it seems like it's all long gone in the UK now

Wow, that game now can't find even in korea, Thank you for making this video!
You're welcome!
I know hahaha! I tried when I was on Seoul last month! Lot's of EZ2DJ and EZ2AC but no EZ2Dancer
?!?! 아니 이런물건을 어떻게 구하신겁니까!!! 대단합니다😅😅😅
They are all hiding in Santiago! haha

Mad machine! Hope to try one day 🎉
I've heard of this game before. Just never seen one. It's a mix of dance freaks and DDR SOLO 2000 3 panel mode. It looks fun

I can see why this one wasn't so sucessful, people would look a little stupid dancing, and it's a bit overwhelming

Llego a Perú, pero desaparecieron de la nada. Nunca más vi uno; lo más probable es que lo hayan convertido en rokola. :(
Same in the UK too!
what location is this in?
El Bosque, Región Metropolitana, Chile 🇨🇱
It's at Kaneda Games!
