- We're back in Chile for the 7th time and 2nd time in Santiago! Today we re-visit Entretenimientos Diana! Diana has two arcade in Santiago: Juegos Diana and Entretenimientos Diana; making it the biggest arcade in Santiago (But to be fair, there isn't much or any competition on that front!). We take a look at what has changed since our last visit, talk about a few disappointments and also find an unexpected upgrade! Let's go!

I loved the video, I'm from Chile, but I've never been to the Diana games, I live more than 600 kilometers from Santiago de Chile, hahaha, it's quite far away, finally a video where I could learn a little more about these beautiful arcade games, hug from the north of Chile.

wow yes that's far haha! I have been to Arica (and Tacna) before! I didn't see too much in Arica in the way of arcades, but I remember seeing some cool arcades in Tacna! I really enjoyed running in the mountains out there!
One of best arcades I've ever seen, this looks so nice! Wish I could go there someday, that would be amazing to play in here
There's always somebody around to play with! It's just a shame it closes so early, otherwise, it would be great!
It's really amazing to see that there are still very large arcade games like this one, it's pure happiness for those who are not very far from this room.
How much does the credit cost?
The games that caught my attention:
5:35 Razing Storm
7:25 After Dark
Too bad there are no good old Konami racing games like the Thrill Drive & Racing Jam series, they are increasingly rare in arcades
The credit is variable between games. There isn't a standard pricing... and since they use that dreaded card system they can change at any time.
Fun fact: before the actual Razing Storm cabinet, Diana had bought a bootleg one that had a PS3 inside... along with Engrish stickers on the cab, and the guns said "nameo".

And that's the best overall arcade in Chile, there's another place called Diana but they aren't the same owners and these machines are really unmaintained.
It's a great place to go once in a while, but the Phoenix is always crowded and the owner for some reason haven't invested on another Phoenix drive, not even when the XX is dying. If you want to play Pump, there are better places than Diana, for example Kaneda who is way smaller but entirely dedicated to rhythm games.

Un pequeño update, ya los visité el pasado Sábado con mi viejo padre; es un gran centro de juegos arcade.... sólo quería que mi hermano viniera con nosotros, pero se sentía enfermo; mi padre no quiso jugar videojuegos, pero si me acompaño en los pinballs. 😄🥲
A little update, I visited the arcade center last Saturday with my old dad and it's a great place for playing arcade games...... I only wished my brother could have came with us, but he felt sick; my dad didn't play any videogames, but he did play some pinballs. 😄🥲

Interesting to see an English-speaker visitng one the Biggest Arcade Video games of Chile, and probably of Latin America.
As Chilean, yeah, here in Latin America Pump it Up is more popular, also in Chile.
However, unlike other Latin America Countries, Dance Dance Revolution was arrived first on Chile on 2000, thanks too Juegos Diana (There other Diana on Santiago Centro, besides Entretenimientos Diana)
If I remember correctly, one of the people who worked in Juegos Diana, wanted bring DDR to Chile, due who one workers visted USA where DDR was a phenomenon in early 2000's, he thinking could be failure, but in the end, was popular in early 2000's, when i was a kid.
There an established fan base in Chile from DDR and also Bemani games
DDR also is popular in Chile, even more than other Latin America countries.

I heard a lot of stories about DDR first appearing in some countries of Latin America, then one day Pump arrived and the DDR machines slowly disappeared. I don't meet too many old school players anymore, but the story is usually the same.
It seems like DDR has become increasingly popular now people can play arcade data at home (on better pads!)... Same with ITG and Simply Love etc. We always thought of LA as a huge Pump region, but it's nice to see variety now! I was really surprised by EZ2Dancer in Chile to be honest! It didn't reach many countries and I can't think of any more public locations which have the game anymore. Similar with EZ2DJ (but less rare). So those were nice surprises while visiting Chile!
I think if you exclude fairgrounds/carnivals, then the Diana arcades are probably one of the biggest in LATAM for sure!

Such a cool arcade with a mix of classics and contemporary ones too, too bad the maintenance isnt taken into consideration but I’m amazed they have lots of dedicated players which can only be a good thing keeping arcades alive. It sucks big time that people have to be booted out by 7pm when people were still playing and having fun. It reminds me of trocadero but slightly smaller.
Yeah, it definitely has Trocadero vibes! Troc was a great place to hang out even if you were broke haha!

That was very unfair tbh. At least imo they're 9/10, although they need to return the investment on newer machines, it's preposterous to see the only phoenix with 20 credits and the owner isn't replacing at least the XX drive who is dying.
Take it how you want to take it, but my takeaway is: I agree with the comment above "they need to return the investment on newer machines".
