This place is absolutely incredible. Wishing it all the success in keeping the arcade genre alive and kicking. $10 flat rate is a steal
I personally donate to it
Glad you got to come check out Vortex Arcade again. Dan really is one of the nicest guys and works his butt off on these machines and we work hard as a team to keep this place going. Thanks for supporting us.
I can't believe you are even ABLE to replicate 80's and 90's gaming in one place. Its like a museum.
@Carlos Morales Dan is one of those guys that has been in the Arcade industry for a long time and like Rick is very passionate about retro. It makes for a great combination of a guy to know if you love that kind of stuff like I do.
Awesome place... Wish we had something anything close in the UK. Also... What's the electric bill on this place?
@@MisterFatherly i know, that's what I'm saying. I'm that kid from the 80's and 90's, I saw how arcades were in those days - exactly what we see here. I used to live in an area DOMINATED by these arcade locations. One of those places is still standing 30 years later.
@Carlos Morales I'll take Vortex or arcades like this over anything Dave and Busters or Main Event.
HOLY…
I LIVE RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM THIS ARCADE! ME AND MY BROTHER FREQUENT HERE ALL THE TIME! ITS COOL TO SEE ARKANSAS GETTING SOME LOVE, ESPECIALLY FOR AN ARCADE LIKE THIS! Vortex has always been special to me, thank y’all for spreading the word❤️
Dan is the greatest boss ever miss working with him so much. So stoked you gave him a feature. Long live playtime pizza lololol
Dan is the real deal for sure!
He sure is a great guy and I'm happy to hear he was the same great boss back during his Playtime Pizza days.
@@retrorick VIDEO GAME HEAVEN FOR ME 😃
Definitely an incredible place. Kind of heartbreaking to see it so empty.
Oh my gosh, protect this place at all costs. Absolutely awesome!
The electric bill of that place must be crazy
oh i cant even imagine!
Crazy its in Arkansas. If it was in a bigger city it would probably kill in profits
I love seeing him in the cut aways in his store. I used to go there all the time back in highschool and checked it out again a few days ago while being home for the holidays. That's where I heard about his channel, and it looks like he's taking good care of that store!
Omg. If this was in my town I would want to buy a year pass because I would be here at least 3-4 days a week. This is one of the coolest game rooms I've ever seen.
this store literally is doin what i plan to do w my game collection. i need more before i can even think of opening a shop but its nice to know my idea has been done and works! to the future.
I would cry the happiest tears if I owned that Killer Instinct cabinet. It is by far the arcade game I played the most. Seeing it and hearing it just creates this feeling inside of me that I can't describe. Just speechless.....
one of the best for sure!
There's Arcade 1ups of Killer Instinct out there if you love that game that much. It's a reasonable way of getting that experience at home for a couple hundred dollars. Those are much easier to move than the real deal and don't take up as much space in your life.
I’ve been here before for my cousins birthday party and it was such a blast. To this day I still can’t believe it a place like this actually exist!!
This is nostalgia at its best. I grew up playing all of these games!!
Thank you for all your videos I enjoy every single one. Please keep making more. You are the only person who makes worth watching videos on RUclips. I wish you can have your own TV series since your life is epic
oh man...what a compliment, thank you David!
Its like the biggest basement or an attic for playing video games 😂
hahaha exactly
I love that place!!! I stumbled up on it a couple years ago right around the same time I found your channel actually lol I love that you gave them this promo! 💪🏽🙌🏽
Oh wee. That’s an arcade. There is such a variety. I live in Cali and there is an arcade by me and it’s nice but it’s nothing like this. I appreciate the footage Retro. Simply 🔥🔥🔥
Looks incredible! Thank you for introducing this place to viewers.
I went here a few years ago for a birthday party. It was a lot of fun. I don't think they had the console gaming area at that time.
one of my fav places to game!
2:50 music - Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers on the Nes my favorite song too!
My childhood memories could be there. For $10, that is such an awesome deal ! I would love to go there.
This is awesome!! Thank you Rick for the super cool content on retro gaming and games!!!
Oh the feels that's awesome hope more of these pop up all over
Damn riff, DDR and ITG kept me fit most of my teenage years.
😂😂❤❤
Hell yeah! ITG is far superior and more challenging but man, DDR just gives me the super nostalgic vibes. Everyone meeting up trying to beat each others score...love it!
Aaron and Ricky are awesome guys.
Dan is an awesome guy and has built an great place to hangout.
Every time I get a chance, I swing by Vortex!
Great video!
That place looks awesome. I have a arcade called 1984 where I live and it's always a fun time. As always great video. 👍
Speaking from lots of experience, this place rocks! Great atmosphere there, everybody just having a blast
Oh wow! There's a local arcade here that tried to do something like that but on a smaller scale. It's mostly a game store now.
This arcade is a I won the lottery goal of mine. I would love to open something like that up.
such an epic channel! Definitely got me back into my N64 games! didnt realize some of my favorite childhood games were appreciating and somewhat sought out my collectors.
🔝🔝🔝

I have something for you 🎉🎉
Love this video bro. Nice to see you guys just relaxing
When I was a kid I used to go to one in New Hampshire called Funspot. It is still there actually and has a ton of games (it is 3 lvls). There is a walkthrough video of it from a few years back. Still has many games from when I was there in the 90's (like the Daytona USA setup with like 8 racers at once).
And it's heavily featured in the King of Kong.
Actually, I last visited Funspot in 2017 and they no longer had Daytona USA. :( They replaced it with NASCAR Team Racing. It's a shame because in 2016, I was able to play Daytona USA on Endurance mode which was 40 laps Advanced and 80 laps Beginner. Fun times. If you revisit Funspot in the future, one of the better times to visit would be SneakFest. Usually in May/June.
Is that where the King of Kong was won??
@@MadDogHoek23 I guess that depends on where in the documentary you are referring to. In the early part of the movie, a big chunk of the documentary was filmed on location at Funspot (or more specifically, the American Classic Arcade Museum which takes up residence on the top floor of Funspot). The reason why there were so many people there was because it was during an arcade tournament simply called "The annual Funspot tournament". Years later, it would be called Brofest before going with its current name Sneakfest.
@@nashvillan4lif I don’t remember but it was an arcade in New England, maybe Maine or New Hampshire. Thanks for your reply, man!
I love this place. Was surprised to see it on RUclips. I need to go back.
Awesome looking place. Id definitley go there if i could
We have an arcade like that here in Washington state.. Not quite as big, but they also do Dungeons and Dragons tournaments, along with Magic, and other card games..
Merry Christmas, Rick, to you and your family. Absolutely love the content. Keep going strong xD xD
If I had an arcade, it would be a tall and wide building.
· The main floor would be the bar & grill sports section with the latest arcade cabinets in the 2020s.
· The second floor would be every coin-op game from the 2010s.
· All 2000s hits on the third floor.
· All 90s hits on the fourth floor.
· All 80s hits on the fifth floor.
· All 70s hits on the top floor.
· A golf/kart/batting section on the roof.
Each floor will feel like a time-capsule.
Wish we had something similar here in So Cal ! This place is so freaking awesome !!
Freakin gamers Heaven!! Love the Master Blaster music at the end! Kudos to the editor, or whoever chose it.
This is everything a 90's kid could want!
Incredible, definitely on the bucket list!
Man if I lived by here I would be there every weekend the vibe of this place is sick and probably the coolest arcade I’ve seen
Ok.....so...wow. What a amazing place. I thought some of the bar arcades around here in Michigan were intense. So cool. Thanks for showing us.
Happy holidays n merry Christmas
What a great place. Love that row of retro consoles along the wall. :)
Awesome video we have an arcade bar exactly like that in London Ontario all free to play Arcade games pinball machines and the old cartridge based games you could play keep up the great work look forward to seeing more videos
The only thing that the arcade is missing is a Rock-Afire explosion show.
been watching a ton of your content lately 🔥
Love it, my collection takes up so much room you make me want to collect cards and videogames too ha
YOU SHOULD GET SOME ARCADE 1ups for the store. They have NFL Blitz, Simpsons and TMNT all smaller cheaper arcades
That place looks amazing!
Absolutely love seeing this, I would love to visit this place someday. So very cool and awesome 🎮 I'm in Baton Rouge
It's not just a arcade it's a ARTCADE!!!
We have a place in Providence called Freeplay Arcade. Same idea. All original machines, skeeball, air hockey, pinball, and a bar with snacks & drinks. Once in awhile bands will play there as well. $10 all day.
Love that Ricky is into 90s Cali punk ❤❤❤
i really wish they brought back arcades where i live, sometimes, just staying home with video game consoles doesnt cut it, you just wanna get out there and have fun and play with others some amazing games!
Wow...that place is sick. I wish there was a place like this in Minnesota. 🎮🕹👍
i was in london several times back in the day when trocadero still existed... it was awesome too
Kids today will never understand the joy of getting some quarters and mashing out some beat em ups with friends at the arcades
This has very quickly became one of my favorite RUclips channels.
Man that looks like retro & arcade heaven! I'm so happy you gave DDR a try! As a rhythm game lover this had me rolling! Keep up the awesome content.
Rick your has definitely grown on me this year. Hope your store doing well
Love the content man keep it up
Beautiful. This is the legacy of the wonder of arcades that we can pass down to our children.
We have a place like this here in Orlando too. I forget the name of it though. I walked in and was in awe and felt like i was back in 1987. Same thing. Ten bucks and play as much as you want. They even had 80's and 90's pop playing overhead. We also have an awesome pinball place here as well in the Deezerland mall (or whatever it is) they probably have a hundred machines and, again, you pay ten bucks and play all you want. If you guys ever find yourselves in Orlando, definitely check those places out.
With nowadays gas and electricity prices they need a lot of customers just to keep the lights on. With that said, great concept! Love it! Thnx for sharing.
Keep doing the lords work man love it.
That place looks sick!! I need to go!!
Dang, I need to go here like NOW! Awesome video man.
You're right about top skater being rare. The only time I saw one of those was like 97 on south street. You never see them in personal arcades or collections either. I'd love to give that game a try after my 25 yr layoff!
Gooood I'd love a place like this in Orlando FL
Amazing brings you back in time as a kid, 😆
I’m more into emulation but this right here would be fun as hell with the fam friends or kids lol
I want that Gauntlet Legends cabinet. That's an absolute unit of a arcade cabinet.
3:25 The guys are focused on Skycurser, while I focused on the arcade cabinet alongside it, which is Star Wars Trilogy arcade (1998).
I want a Star Wars Trilogy arcade cabinet SO BADLY in my home.
Amazing place!🤩👍
Thanks for leaving a commet

Holy crap! That’s crazy! I love how Mvc2 still get love to this day.
There's a very similar arcade that's walking distance from my house. Pinball machines, old school arcade games, DDR Extreme etc... Flat fee for the day. Basically the same but they don't have the consoles or all the neat decorations.
Very cool arcade!
Oh, man that is just beautiful!!!
Riff, my goodness. The boy can dance!
i can hear the high frequency's coming through to my headphones from all that old equipment 😂
I had an idea to open a place like this. Didn't realize it had already been done
thx for this, nostalgia feels
Wow, this is awesome, love it.
That’s a great video game place!!🎄👍
one of the best!
AMAZING! They need an arcade like this in New York City!!
My next stop when I drive through Little Rock!
So much history in that building....
I think I need a vacation to Arkansas now. Been to Arkansas twice but never been near this area. So many arcades and pinball games I'd love to try out. Bring my dad and I bet he'd be like a akid again
Now i have to book my flights just to come here.. this is heaven !! 👌👌
Has to be the most impressive arcade I have ever seen. Why is it not in NY?
Nice he fixed up those turtles arcade since i was there back during halloween time last year too!
That's basicly my livingroom....
... when my close my eyes and imagine it! 😂
I'm gonna sub just because you showed a place near me. First video of yours i have seen and its local to me.
Little Rock finally given me a reason to come visit Arkansas
come on man! We got the games!
I used to have four of the Playchoice 10 arcades. A bunch of different games in them, including a solar Jetman, which is worth quite a bit of money. Ended up selling them because I didn’t have the space to keep them anymore.
Yeah the title of the video is beyond fitting. I could sit in there ALL DAY LONG!!!!
I own that Super Mario Bros. Playchoice topper! I got it years ago when I bought a Playchoice. I couldn’t bare to peel the adhesive to attach the topper, so I kept it folded up. It looks like it’s brand new. Didn’t realize they were so rare!
Thanks for leaving a commet

That place looks like HEAVEN!!
Love it. Please come to Georgia 🙂
Man I wish we had something like this in the UK, Bloddy Awesome.
Sure people are gonna say these can be all emulated with current hardware but the environment adds so much. I wish there was a place like this in southern california. Great Job!! I'm glad I stumbled onto this channel!!
See thats actually the problem with current age and how much too much technology took over. emulation doesn't give you the social fun environment that these places provide. Our society has gotten a lot less social because of too much technology and people are more depressed because of it.
