These videos of you splitting rounds, echoing in the woods are fantastic👌👍. It’s both very relaxing to listen to and makes me want to go grab my axe and get out there at the same time.
Hello Billie Ray. I'm one of those watchers, but it's time to step out and let you know how grateful I am for what you do. It sure inspires me to do better. I love the same stuff you do, saws and axes and working with wood. Keep up the good work.
Me and the little guy delivered two loads today, even paid for a fellas stuff in the drive thru just to spread kindness all while listenin to the wood man!
That’s what i am talking about buddy. Getting out and enjoying a beautiful day in the woods. Nothing better for a person’s spirt, then splitting wood with his favorite tool….the axe!
Man dude you make that look so stinking easy!! I’m a 62 year old drywaller and until I was 50 I could work youngsters right into the dirt. At 62 I’m a third of what I used to be. Key is don’t ever stop!! 👍 keep swinging Brother!
When I saw you splitting wood wearing your vest and wool beanie, you reminded me of Dick Proeneke from Alone in the Wilderness! And that's sir, is a fine compliment! Your work is inspirational on so many levels 💪👍🙏 Love you all...❤️❤️❤️ Lieutenant Bradley
You ,sir are an inspiration to all of us would be lumberjacks. It's just amazing the amount of work you do in your videos. Have a very nice day and a very merry Christmas.
Hahahahhahahaha that's not gonna work. Love it Buckin. You Crack me up and bang out comes the Wood Bullet to finish er off. Love ya brother. Thank you🌲❤🌲✊🪓
Nothing like seeing the old GORILLA. Makes my day just laying eyes on it. Beautiful tool. Keep up the hard work Buckin shout out from all of us in Orchards, Washington.

Wow, that's one thick chunk of wood, ka-bamski...! The echo of the trees is my absolute favorite sound while you're axing the rounds... You can hear the thickness of the woods, the depth of sound doesn't get any better.
I see the big rounds and although you have some beautiful axes my choice would be the Eastonmade Axis, it makes the job easy. We all have our own way of splitting wood, no one’s right or wrong, it just makes us different. To you and yours have yourself a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Cher’s my friend.
lol. the helicopter or crane rental to get the axis in this location prompted the use of the almighty axe , i go to great lengths to help folks with there heat sources as this location , even the home owner wood let this rot here , not on my axe. how are you enjoying your axis?
I love seeing you use different axes out on the job! Keep that up buckin! I took out my dandenong out for a spin the other day and shes a splitting monster! Mine in made in Australia marked 4½ but weighs over 5 pounds! Its hung on a curly spotted gum and is absolutely beautiful. Merry Christmas buddy
You start getting production of wood bullets going and I can assure ya that this guy will be looking to pick up both a 3.5-4 lb single bit and a 4-5 lb double bit from ya. I got a 25 ton hydraulic splitter and I'm finding that following your tips I'm almost faster with an axe than with the hydraulic splitter, plus less lifting which lessens the beating on my knees.
Those butt cuts get stood up bark up and noodled in half with the chainsaw here in wny ... I’m all for exercise but man that’s making a job of it when they are that large around. I’d have to eat a huge breakfast 🥞 🥚 before attempting those behemoths. Lotta work
I'm 63 years old and I still split some wood with a 6 pound maul . I love the body style of your high boy . What size engine does it have I miss those old 4-speeds on the floor. I help some young people the other day had a flat no spare so I let them borrow one . Merry Christmas to you and your family.
It's a little cold out..hence the touck. Not sure how to spell that but it made me laugh. I only have ever heard that from my 80 yr old father down here in central New York
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith buckin. Love ya brother. I'm so happy and blessed I found your channel. You're doing God's work. Merry Christmas and happy new year. Love ya bud
Hey Buckin’, I wonder how the wood bullet would do with one of those pressed bamboo handles. I would love to be able to get one. Here in Western North Carolina. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 👊👊👊👊
Hey,I have an idea.I'll try it when i get a couple old cheat double bit axe heads. Grind the top of one and the bottom of another and weld them together to make a 7 pound super axe
I like my double bit axe well balanced l use it for splitting every time. When the blocks are too tough l use a 8 lb sledge hammer and a steel wedge. I cut my stumps so low l can drive my f150 over them 2-3 footers when they are to hard to split l saw them into blocks Your one tough man not afraid of hard work l see you don’t like wood splitters either who wants to lift those heavy blocks that’s why you spit them to make them light enough to lift
I'd really like to get my hands on one of them wood bullets to put into some kentucky hardwoods. Any idea of a time line when they might come available?
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith not a problem man. I love watching your videos you've helped me be a more efficient in the wood cutting world thank you for your videos. When them wood bullets become available I really do want to get one
G'day Buckin, when you were laying into that 18" Butt round and it was hanging on one might think you need an 8 pound maul 🤔If you could only carry one tool which one would it be? Can you justify lugging the extra pounds for the odd time you encounter that or simply a few more swings of the wood bullet and it's done. The difference that I see is a razor sharp WB can chop as well.
Love to split with a 6lb maul. Big and heavy enough for me to split just about anything. 8lb mauls work great but sure can be a work out - I use a 4.5 lb wedge and a sledge hammer when the rounds get big. God bless, from Ontario
Hi Buckin. Any chance of a video on how to fell a tree with a bar half the size of the tree. i think its called double cutting all the videos on youtube not up to much thank you.

I have come to discover I can’t watch these videos if I’m laying down because it puts me right to sleep. Insanely relaxing
Hi. Reminds me of the time Hogan had that ax bounce back and hit him in the face. Like he was hitting rubber. Glad that didn’t mess him up.
I cant ever decide if it's the axes or the trucks I like better when I watch these videos.

I'm so going to try the flick when I split wood next. How does the flick stop the axe from breaking? Less stress through the handle?
Stops the handle smashing into the log once it's passed through the log your choppin....stops it from getting all chipped

Turn your axe holder around and put the handles in the bed with the heads at the tailgate. Be easier?
