Years ago in Long Island Sound (CT) I was on beach near dusk one summer night, and off the pier I saw a ton of bioluminiscent things near the surface that reminded me of ctenophores (I was taking Marine Bio at the time in college, they're very similar to cnidirians [jellyfish]) to this day i always wondered what they were, thought it was these guys but it doesn't say they're in the Atlantic, unless they were introduced recently?
Barely an animal? not so far as their biology is concerned. ctenophores are relitively complex. Their method of locomotion is unique among animals and they employ some rather interesting modes of prey capture. And interestingly the phylogenetic infomation about them apears to indicate they more evolutionarily distant to all other animals then other animals are to each other, meaning they branched off very, very earily. Their is even one species i`m aware of that is sessile.
Evolution..? is that what this is all about? I fail to recognize how you made the jump from evolution, to Atheism. Those are entirely different subjects. None of what i have said is considered controversial by science. What part of Evolution have you a problem with exactly? its quite frankly irratating how common these nonsensical objections to evolution are.
Yes I assumed you were atheist due to your belief in evolution, that should be evidence enough of why my jumping to conclusions was fair. I don't have any sympathy for your false claims being objected too commonly, while I'm irritated that you throw your belief around as fact when it is nothing but a theory. A theory that is insulting to religion.
Yes! In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. This creature is incredible and did not come from an unexplainable explosion. That is mindless and goes completely against all rational logic. It was the God of the Bible who created all the incredible things we see. He says, "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the Earth. Tell me if you understand. Evolution is complete hogwash and leads to denial of God and ultimately to the lake of fire for all eternity for all who reject the salvation through Jesus that could have been theirs!
I wonder why people seem so fixated on alien life, when the life here is still amazing to us.
The display at the aquarium is small but I found it to be the most interesting. They have an outstanding jellyfish collection.
They were scattered around on Pensarn beach earlier this year. I returned yesterday and there were none at all.
I had some Dubstep music playing while watching this. It was pretty epic.
I wonder what sea gooseberry jam tastes like
so beautiful
