A less destructive option for the case would be to buy a round LiPo battery that would fit in the space of the 2x CR2032, with 20mm max diameter (same as CR2032) and max 6.4mm thickness (same as 2x CR2032 stacked). LPR581820 is 18mm x 5.8mm 3.7v 170mah, but I'm not sure if any other manufacturers make this type of batteries.
That's a nice arrange of consoles you have there and good mod. I would like to do it myself, but I don't have a soldering toolkit or experience with that and I'd have to do about 14 VMUs... so maybe one for the future.

Hi mate 👍 took me about half a hour to do and about £15 so worth it imo them bloody CR2032 batteries don’t last long so going to do a case swop and power supply mod on one of my Dreamcast soon as I feel I’ve not done enough with that console Cheers Vet
All these years and all these VMU mods and yet no one still hasn't mad a VMU with a backlite screen that is ips graded. I hope someone does one day it would be really nice to my screen in the dark.
@@TheVetUk Oh, right after I posted that comment I found a brand that makes these quality backlight VMUs with insane memory. The brand is called DreamWare Enterprise for Dreamcast. They even make wireless controllers for the Dreamcast with a dongle similar to the GameCube's wave bird dongle. I went in and bought both the VMU and wireless controller setting me back close to 100$.
@@graepi5488 after your lithium no longer works, I recommend moving on to a benzodiazepine such as Ativan, or maybe Xanax, something that, as it will further push away your extreme socially weird anxiety
Do you know how much longer does a charge will last now ? I guess it will also take a while to recharge but yes anything is better than replacing CR2032 batteries all the time.

Have you not heard of the VM2? They've actually remade it recently, and it takes an sd card.
I did but the price put me off a bit but I will keep an eye on that 👍

Also depends on what size battery you use on the update video I used a bigger battery
