Xbox360 Controller Lipo Battery Mod

Today I wanted to Share my Project I Have been working on for a few months and its a Battery Mod for the Recharagable pack on the 360 controller which are dying of old age.
This mod Piggy Backs on the Original controller and allows the Lipo to Charge on a standard controller or battery charger
Please do this at your own risk and please take care as Lipo Batteries can be Dangerous if Mistreated
But I Do Feel This is a wanted Replacement as all my original batteries have now died
and This Mod Brings Them Back From the Dead !

My issue is the battery compartment disconnecting on 360 controllers. I've several excellent 360 controllers collecting dust because they would randomly desync. This is a perfect solution! Thanks!

I managed to collect a few of these disposable vape devices that have a cylindrical Li-ion cells around 850mAh capacity. Even with a small charge controller they might be a bit too big for the case although there are some skinny ones aswell.

Great timing for this to come out. I’ve got 3 controllers and a big ass bag of dead play n charge kits that I’ve been looking to update. Rather than using an external charger, I’m looking for a good clean mod to charge this type of battery via USB C

The charge board can be purchased with usb c input which you could arrange in the holder to be externally charged I used a genuine charge station but you could 3D print a holder and make up a charge station I would be interested to see how you get on

Yes, same here. I've already got a dozen leftover from another project rectangular 6,000 mih batts that fit rather well. I need to convert them to USB-C charging but well worth the effort.

I have searched for a mod like this around 2 years ago, couldn't find any that didn't involve gluing the battery right into the controller, so I thought "yeah I'll just give it a couple of years and someone will most likely do it". And here it is. Perfect, sleek, beautiful mod. How's the average battery life on a single charge?

Full charge 4-6 hours depends on what your playing 👍

Hi good friend, do you know if the motherboard has a built-in voltage regulator that lowers from 4.2v to 3.3v? Or does it have it in the same battery that is plugged in from behind?

Are you talking about the original board in the battery or the new controller board I added

And once the LiPo battery will die within 10 years, how are you going to re open everything to stick a solid state battery in there now ?

I will have arthritis by then and it won’t matter I’ll never be able to open them anyway 😂

hey would it be possible to just replace the batteries with eneloop rechargables?

I did try that years ago and it did work but the made the body swell a bit and still did not last like the lipo but it did work 👍
