@@runJDrun I've seen some people downplaying the introduction, but I think it was perfect. It's a franchise that's been gone for about a decade, from one of the biggest studios around, and they probably approached Keighley to reveal at his show and he was more than grateful.

Im a newer fan by this series standards! I picked up a copy of for answer when I was 8, was really into iron man and big robots at the time. Game kicked my ass and got me HOOKED on the ethos FromSoft takes with designing games. Now I'm almost through with college after 5 years and the series returns. I'm so hyped.

Armored Core and MechWarrior 4 was my jam back in the day. The feeling of creating the perfect mech down to the booster and the amount of MG rounds for an hour for a mission that just only lasted for 10 minutes. And when your setup pays off perfectly for that mission is just... **chef's kiss**

Armored Core vet here. If you aren't sure about spending 60 bucks on Armored Core 6, buy a older entry for like 10 or 15 bucks at 2nd hand shop to see if it's for you. Armored Core belongs to a genre called "vehicle simulator" (this is an actual term), some of the most well-known are MechWarrior or Star Wars TIE Fighter. It's a category originating from PCs, where the controls are often so complex, it requires every key on the keyboard (no joke). In simpler terms, imagine Microsoft Flight Simulator... but for fictional 75-ton mechs. I made a video about this very topic.
The control scheme isn't really what makes Armored Core complicated (they were made for Dualshocks and 360 controllers for crying out loud), it's the customization aspect. Can fine tune everything down to your arms, legs, weapons, boosters, cockpits, weight distribution, (historically) heatsinks, etc. Not just cosmetic or simple weapon swaps, they have a sizable impact on the operation and viability of your mech (to the point where you can accidentally make a top-heavy AC that can't actually walk, or hell even something that explodes on deployment)
I must have watched reactions to this trailer for 2 weeks straight after it dropped and somehow never came across this one, and I wish it hadn't take so long cause it's one of the best. That split second going from seeing the FROM logo and being like "Oh nice a new FROM game, that's always good." to suddenly realizing what that actually meant was everything. Being a hardcore fan of the series since AC2, I can't get enough of how far FROM has come since the old days making niche robot games to being like, THE premier development studio. I can't wait to see how they'll apply everything they've learned since then into making what I sincerely hope to be the best AC game yet.
I was sitting with my neighbor watching the game awards, and I mentioned that it would be sick if Fromsoft wins Game of the Year and announced a new Armored Core. A few hours later this happened and I got emotional. I jumped, I screamed and I almost choked up crying.
I had heard whispers that it was coming. I still screamed and cried when I actually saw the trailer. You captured the same excitement I was too emotional to express. I cannot wait to grab the reigns once again. See you on the battlefield sir 07
i never played armored core because back then i was always playing gundam, but i remember always wanting to try it because it looked good. now i might have to give it a chance.
Gundam games are very fun, but more arcade-style. Armored Core goes for more of an immersive sim vibe. Light on story, but infinite in options and tactics. Fair warning. No exotic alloys here. You get hit a few times and you are scrap. Such is the way of Fromsoft.
As someone that dropped in late to AC (only a Lynx 😬) it warms my hard to see all the old Ravens rise up for this new entry in their belived franchise.

finally someone with a similair reaction to me. "that is MY generation" hit hard, im only 24 but Armored Core 3 was the first video game I ever played back on the PS2 with my Uncle. He got me into the series and I am sooooooo beyond thankful that this sequal came out on PC. I've always hyped up the series to my friends, and now I finally got to show them the gameplay.

2023 FromSoftware going back to their roots and after becoming the God Kings of game development are fucken bringing back AC with their S tier developers and infinite budget. My God, its so clear why Geoff is trying his best not to cry when announcing the trailer.

I started tearing up when I seen that red flash in the beginning. We’ve been waiting so long for the return of the king dingaling of mech games. If we will never get a good Gundam game…at the very least we can have AC back again. I’m so hyped! Mech Warrior was a decent alternative but it is just not the same as AC. I hope the devs bring back 4s mobility.
