Agree that VIII needs a remake. But they still haven't finished VII, and the game that needs remaking most is VI, which could take forever as it's such a huge story. There's a lot of talk about a FFIX Remake at the moment, too. So we may have to wait a while... Maybe Square could hand the IP to a competent studio (CD Project Red for instance - I say this because Witcher 3 was one of the best open world games of last gen, and some of VIII's locations look sort of cyberpunk), and let them handle it. That way we wouldn't have to wait until we're all in our 50s to play as a bunch of teenagers again.

I mean, we want one full game, not again a triology or sort of. FFIX Remake is apparently in developement for quite a long time, and they even leaked some pre-order bonus DLCs, which semi-confirm that the rumors were true. But I would find it strange to remake VII and IX, but to skip VIII (as they usually do). The director of VIII said in 2019 that he would change some things, if they would tackle a remake, and that this should be done by a younger generation. Which means IF they do a remake someday, they would definitely outsource it to another company, which handels the remake (unlike VII). VIII is not that important for them it seems, which kinda sucks. To read about all the hate abot this game. It definitely don't deserves that.

The “actors” look almost nothing like who they are supposed to represent. But regardless of how they look, the choices I wouldn’t agree on for any of them either way . But other than that, nice work on the AI generation. Far better than I could do. You’d probably get a more positive reaction by doing away with the “actors” and just generate random “realistic” aesthetics.

Squall was my first crush growing up .... and even i know he was a whiney 17 year old emo kid that grew up fast. Chalamet would fit, he can also do commanding as we've seen in Dune.
Final Fantasy VIII would be such an awesome game to remake! There are so many different genres in this game. Sci-fi, medieval, modern, gunslingers, mythology, magic, mechinepunk, gaspunk, cyberpunk... the list goes on. A captivating story and a plethora of locations and events. It would be a wildly epic experience remade for modern consoles and hardware!
The AI is trying really hard to stay on task and I appreciate it. Thanks for the realistic dip into my favourite Final Fantasy. Even if you're receiving negative comments for it, I really enjoyed seeing the settings and costumes and characters brought to life as much as we'll likely ever get, especially when Square Enix couldn't even have been bothered to clean up the map and backgrounds in the remaster.
If they ever do make a live action FF movie or series, it should not be based on any of the games. It should keep the trend of the games going by being its own world, unless it's a spin-off and its own story within FFXIV.
After the worldwide, colossal failure of the first time they tried anything close to that, pretty sure even bringing up the idea of a standalone film is enough to get slapped in the mouth at Square Enix HQ. Spirits Within showed us what a Final Fantasy movie unconnected to previous games would do. Critics despised it, non-fans straight up didn't see it, and fans hated it because it had basically nothing to do with anything they loved about the franchise. Instead of wishing for the exact same thing and hoping it works out better, maybe we should be thankful they haven't tried to milk that particular organ again.... Yet.
The AI hell is strong. He doesn't look like Squall, that doesn't look like Monica Bellucci (especially not now), and those backgrounds look worse than a Marvel production. 0 stars.

Well, Galbadia is the typical evil empire you get in every Final Fantasy game. And when I think "evil empire", I tend to think Galactic Empire from Star Wars, Third Reich and the Soviet Union, in that order, not the French. Although I suppose the French did have their shot at empire-building, but they weren't as bad as all that.

There's an “Arc de Triomphe” like in Paris, the place where the trap against the witch is set by the group and fails. And we mustn't forget that before the story began, Galbadia was the army waging war against Esthar, which at the time was led by the witch Adel. They're not like the galactic empire in Starwars or the other empires in FF6 etc etc....

The story isn't so Manichean, it's not good versus evil, it's more complicated than that. Ultimécia is dangerous and so was Adel in Esthar. It's the witches who are seen as dangerous, but not all of them are. Edea is a witch, but she's not dangerous. She's only dangerous because she's possessed by Ultimécia, after which she returns to normal and is not malevolent.
Wait, wait, wait. Since when does Seifer have _long_ hair? The whole point of his character design is it's supposed to contrast with Squall's appearance (hence, short blond hair instead of mid-length brown hair.) Here he looks more like Rufus Shinra from Final Fantasy VII. Or Leonardo diCaprio's evil brother.

And when I think "evil empire", I tend to think Galactic Empire from Star Wars, Third Reich and the Soviet Union, in that order, not the French. Although I suppose the French did have their shot at empire-building, but they weren't as bad as all that.

There's an “Arc de Triomphe” like in Paris, the place where the trap against the witch is set by the group and fails.
And we mustn't forget that before the story began, Galbadia was the army waging war against Esthar, which at the time was led by the witch Adel.
They're not like the galactic empire in Starwars or the other empires in FF6 etc etc....

I stand by Galbadia being an evil empire, though, as it's controlled by a sinister force from the shadows (Ultimecia) much like the Empire in Star Wars (Palpatine) or the Gestahlian Empire in VI (Kefka.) And if you're going around invading other nations just to get your hands on ONE little girl who has special powers and being manipulated by a sorceress from the future who wants to compress time because she's afraid of dying, well, that sounds pretty villainous to me!

The story isn't so Manichean, it's not good versus evil, it's more complicated than that.
Ultimécia is dangerous and so was Adel in Esthar.
It's the witches who are seen as dangerous, but not all of them are.
Edea is a witch, but she's not dangerous.
She's only dangerous because she's possessed by Ultimécia, after which she returns to normal and is not malevolent.

Wait, wait, wait. Since when does Seifer have _long_ hair? The whole point of his character design is it's supposed to contrast with Squall's appearance (hence, short blond hair instead of mid-length brown hair.) Here he looks more like Rufus Shinra from Final Fantasy VII. Or Leonardo diCaprio's evil brother.
Also he takes great inspiration from Laguna's portrayal of the sorceress knight which he saw as a child.
