The Slipknot Disasterpiece Dvd is the best concert EVER recorded. They just captured that violence, hate, and aggression so well. I don't think there is any other band that will ever top Slipknots self titled, and Iowa album.
In attitude and aggression it's really hard to top. But the music itself it's debatable, there are plenty of satanic death metal /black metal bands that sound darker and heavier.

This is their best performance ever in my opinion, They where at the height of their popularity and hated one another, plus this was right before they all started making money so that hunger in there was added, plus this puts to rest their use of lights, fog and other live special efx, as a crutch, just them their instruments and a audience that was 30 feet away.

@@danharford6748 more like 12.30am-ish. Conan had "Late Night" then, which was the show after Leno's "Tonight Show" 11.35pm timeslot.
So not as substantial an audience but still pretty damn impressive considering they were on network tv.
at least once a month i come back here to see this outstanding performance. it's hard to see a band with this tightness and with this energy
The Slipknot Disasterpiece Dvd is the best concert EVER recorded. They just captured that violence, hate, and aggression so well. I don't think there is any other band that will ever top Slipknots self titled, and Iowa album.
Pull your head out of your arse
In attitude and aggression it's really hard to top. But the music itself it's debatable, there are plenty of satanic death metal /black metal bands that sound darker and heavier.
And Corey's voice in that DVD... Pfffff, pure gold!
Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.
I have to leave a comment so there'll be 66 likes and 6 comments.
this is my childhood
Definitely my fav live performance, back on 01 i was 13 and I remember that I was literally jumping and screaming and my Mom was yelling me Stop!! Stop!! , wow i literally just cried and couldn´t finish posting this.
Thank you Joey Jordison for all these great moments, you will be remembered as a True Legend #1.
I'm guessing they didnt have space for the percussion drums 🤣
Rule Follower thoughts exactly. Ha
Oh for sure. Its Definitely different sounding as well. But it still bangs hard as all fuck!
Rule Follower hell no
They did. A year before they did wait and bleed on Conan with the drums for Chris and Clown. This song just doesnt call for it.
Slipknot honestly sounds better without them...
Why must we grow old????? Still hands down the best band ever live and studio!! A Scary Metal Machine!!!!!
Sorry man, seen them 5 times from 04 on and tool 6 times from 06 on, Slipknot couldn't pack Tools lunch live or in studio. They are good, but no where near the best
RIP legend, seeing joey drumming here makes me wanna cry😭
The best drummer of all time 😭
Paul too. 2 legends
This is their best performance ever in my opinion, They where at the height of their popularity and hated one another, plus this was right before they all started making money so that hunger in there was added, plus this puts to rest their use of lights, fog and other live special efx, as a crutch, just them their instruments and a audience that was 30 feet away.
People=shit in Tokyo during the Iowa period is my favorite performance.
oh man hell yeah thats up there in my favs too! rock on!
Right? thats what makes this performance so special. i would watch this over and over and over again.
i had a vhs tape just filles with music acts from Conan and snl from 96-2001.
i had so many good performances.
Why did they hate each other
+ACE Music not even close dude! Thus is the best bar none
Anyone else started to head bang at 3:13 ?
I started to headbang to this particular song in 2001, so answering your question, yes.
Guilty🤘
I started headbanging at 0:00 myself.
I'd say that's probably the heaviest shit that's ever graced a nationally broadcast syndicated show. It has to be.
this might be my favorite slipknot vid ever.
0:31
Corey: "Get the fuck outta my way mick"
Mick: "The fuck did you just do to me?"
hahahahahaha
it's very funny how he stares at the camera then the verse jumps in and goes into beastly headbanging
HAHAHA
This comment made me fucking snort dude 😂😂😂
Best video on RUclips.
I remember watching this, when Conan introduced them he said "up next is the loudest band we've ever had on late night with Conan O'Brien!" ROFL
The shot at 3:13 gives me chills every time
me too bro, me too... this is the first Slipknot video i saw...still have goosebumps
Just the way Conan shook these guys' hands, you know he was blown the fuck away by what he just saw.
i'm surprised this happened
Matt Johnson censorship ;)
It’s crazy how this performance sounds really close to the record version. Every other one I’ve ever listened to Corey sounds like he’s outta breath or winded. Can’t blame him though. Knot4life
I really like that they are on a smaller sized set it brings em all closer and makes tHe bands energy even more intense imo. Rad

Am I the only one finding that Clown and Sid/0 moment utterly endearing and unexpected?
Clown played a pretty integral part to Sid getting accepted into the band. In other words, Sid headbutted Clown and knocked him on his ass.
So we have Slipknot here tonight, everybody! And before you start, could you guys please elaborate on your role in the band?
1: - "Sure, I play drums"
8: - "I sing"
7: - "I play guitar"
4: - "Also guitar here"
2: - "I play the bass"
0: - "I'll do the intro"
3: - "I headbang and occasionally yell 'six'"
6: - "Another headbanger here"
5: - "Well uh.."
GehennaNL number 5 is craig right?
GehennaNL 8: - "I scream"
5: .......
Wait, Sid does the intro?
leandromgitjb Glad that somebody else noticed that, lol.
These guys are performing like it's their last day on Earth. Too damn good.
Best comment
I just fucking love the energy of this performance. unbelievable
"Guarun - teed to snap" Lololol censorship.
You're full of it
I stayed up late to watch and record this performance on a VHS. The tape is long gone so I’m stoked I can still find this on youtube.
Wish this was on VHS!
2:50 clown hits the woah before it was cool
Man seeing this again after so many years brings back memories. What a fun time it’s been being a slipknot fan.
RIP #1... you legend
Fuck, I woke up right now and saw this in a article by Conan O'Brien bringing a Metal band to the show in the beginning of 00's...
That was intense, I woke up now with big energy and I feel great for the day...
Thank you, Internet!!!
I like how in one shot of this video Corey is gasping for breath and that just shows how much he cares for this band! This is at 3:05
My man used to scream as hard as he could, no diaphragm or anything, just pure rage
@@Safetysweet yes :)
Always amazing to me to see music like this played live on a popular tv show. It’s just pop and backpack kids now. Man the good old days haha
How can anyone put a thumbs down to this video unacceptable i’m sorry but this performance was pure fucking metal
They actually mixed them very well for a TV show. Really fucking good performance! \m/
Marko Zivanovic This was a band in its prime. Even dogshit sound engineering wouldn't have ruined the performance.
Alan Heyes yes.. but like I said, they mixed them pretty well on this one.
@@alanheyes694 I assumed he meant vision mixing tbh. I thought the studio crew did well on both counts.
Actually, it seemed like the director didn't know which musician to focus on.
@@wcsxwcsx the Director doesn't mix the Audio, he directs/and or edits the Video. Actually. Ffs.
