"Why should you go to Karaoke when you can pick up cheap microphones and sing off your laptop playing instrumental from RUclips?" It is an experience just as much as the food. And besides, I don't think anyone wants to clean up the mess after a barbecue and so going to a restaurant for that experience without having to clean your house and have it smell of cooked meat is a pretty understandable reason. • @lordalex027
      @lordalex027 7 месяцев назад +13

      Upscale places are almost never worth it. They can sometime be worth it just for the experience, but besides that they're just overpriced for maybe a 1% - 5% increase in flavor, but a 100% - 1000% increase in price.

    • @cpK054L

    • @dailyrant4068
      @dailyrant4068 7 месяцев назад

      The meat is definitely lower grade. It’s fine if you think it’s too expensive. It’s no different than “fancy pasta”. People need to be realistic. I personally would choose the $35 if it’s decent enough but there are tons of crappy buffets too.

    • @lordalex027
      @lordalex027 7 месяцев назад +4

      @@dailyrant4068Definitely it's lower grade, but the fact is that a higher price can't magically make something that many times better. A 100 dollar steak is not going to taste 2 - 4 times better than a 30 dollar steak. It's going to taste maybe if you're generous 2% - 10% better. Hell, with steaks being the topic wagyu, and it's more prestigious kobe beef brother are both not always fan favorites of people. It's meat butter, and while a lot of people like it some people don't.
      The reality is that most people just don't see the point in spending that kind of money on that type of steak. Maybe once every blue moon as something special, but that's about it.

    • @dailyrant4068
      @dailyrant4068 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@lordalex027 Considering all these fancy restaurants exist, you are clearly wrong that "most people don't see the point of spending".
      Go to ANY fancy steakhouse in a major city, and you are looking at close to $100 a person.
      Any Michelin star rated restaurants will set you back anywhere from $100 to 500 a person.
      Sorry but I think youtube just has a lot of poor people who don't realize what people spend money on and then make grand statements about how "no one else sees the value".
      You're not wrong entirely, the diminishing return is a simple economic principle.

    In future, you will be required to purchase the meat, seasoning from the supermarket inside the restaurant. They will provide a grill, you cook and pay 1000 bucks for the service. Don't forget to pay the mandatory 25% tip to the waiter who showed the way to the table.

The deserts are crazy and the Starters like the lobster rolls arent some simple dish... everything there is yes expensive but an experience. @@legendary548 the entire experience of korean bbq is that you cook it yourself (or at least it’s cooked in front of you). the staff procure good quality fresh meat, handle the butchering, marinating, gives you side dishes, change out the grill when needed, etc. there are similar types of meals across asia (chinese hotpot, japanese yakiniku) although idk if there’s a western equivalent. it’s more about the communal aspect of doing it together with friends and cooking while having a drink and chat. you can absolutely do it at home if you get all the right cuts of meat, marinade it properly, get a proper charcoal grill that they use, the different sauces used, all the free side dishes korean bbq should give out at an unlimited rate. it’s not like they’re asking you to do a convoluted process for cooking. you literally slap it on the grill for a min, turn and eat it nice and hot. you can take your time to cook it and not in one whole batch. in many restaurants you can ask for them to do it for you too
