I adore CSL - it's one of my all-time favorite rom-coms. Everyone is absolutely stellar and yep, that scene makes me laugh every single time. Love, love, love it!
The way Ryan Gosling delivered the line, "what are you grabbing?", always gets me. His tone and intonation coupled with the situation he was in was just perfect.
I have watched that scene in Crazy. Stupid. Love. a million times! From the time Jacob walks out and the look on Cal's face, it is on! Comedy gold! But I was surprised When Harry Met Sally was so low on the list. That is an iconic scene.
The Crazy Stupid Love ❤️ scene wasn’t just funny, it was a diabolical twist that put everyone on their asses. Just when you think the movie’s over... BOOM 💥 All hell breaks out.
I think she was talking about how that role in Bridesmaids was the role that literally made her a movie star. She starred in a ton of movies after that role. It should have been sooner, yes, but people that didn't watch that sitcom didn't really know who she was until Bridesmaids.
Maybe they meant in movies? Especially since those (myself included) who didn’t watch Gilmore Girls, saw this movie, had no idea who she was 🤷🏼♀️. But I’ve thought the same with other TV stars who not many knew until they were in a movie (Like Zachary Levi in Shazam - I knew him from Chuck but others didn’t know who he was 😋) I’m just guessing they *meant* breakout movie role 😊💚✌🏻
So many hilarious rom-coms! What a fun genre, and a decent list. I wish each list could be about 20 long lol. I would have included About Time, Because I Said So, Book Club, Click, Continental Divide, The Goodbye Girl, The Invention of Lying, Just Like Heaven, Look Who's Talking, Must Love Dogs, Never Been Kissed, Nine Months, Something's Gotta Give, Superstar, Sweet Home Alabama, Wedding Crashers, What Women Want, and Yes Man. Maybe they don't all have strictly the rom-com formula, but all worthy of note!
The Wedding Singer (1998) is my most favorite romcom ever...had always been #1 in my personal list since I saw it back in the early 00s, and I've seen countless romcom movies. ❤❤❤ I'm now in my 40s and still hoping to find someone to grow old with. 🥲
@@LadyVoldemort Yes! I love The Wedding Singer too! It's absolutely hysterical and I love how it is set in the 80s. The music, the outfits, the dialogue... it's perfection as far as romantic comedies go. Another great one is You've Got Mail. It's witty, funny and fun. Some actors and actresses are just born to play a role together. Like Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.
Thank you for including It Happened One Night although I have to say the whole movie is funny and is the original rom-com of cinema so it deserves more than an honorable mention.
Two week's notice, Traffic jam on the freeway! My favorite Rom-Com is My Best friend's wedding. I agree with the others that the scene you picked is not the funniest. I love the rehearsal dinner scene
The “everyone finds out” scene in Crazy, Stupid Love is story climax in THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. They should have similar scenes in every rom com, every drama, every comedy, every… you get the picture.
I was hoping for the Benny & the Jets scene from 27 Dresses 😆. Even as an honorable mention (even though some of these I personally didn’t find that funny), those wrong lyrics are so funny 😋
Something’s Gotta Give, the sex scene between Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. Also after the break up when she’s writing and crying. Such a funny film.
It’s an older film, but Some Like it Hot is hysterical. Marilyn Monroe is great. The train scene and the final scene are especially funny. If you haven’t watched it, you have to.
The title of this episode should be Top Ten Funniest Rom-Coms after 1988. With another episode for Rom-Coms of the classic Hollywood era, and of the Post-Studio era.
The scene from Crazy, Stupid, Love is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Their farcical timing is absolutely incredible. I never really cared for Ryan Gosling or Steve Carell until I saw this movie. Now big fan of b oth
I’m not finished with this list yet but if the fountain fight from the Bridget Jones sequel is on the list but the fight from the first isn’t, I will flip a table.
1. I would move "I'll Have What She's Having" closer to the top of the list, but that's just me. Huge applause to Meg Ryan for taking that material and running with it!! (An actor myself, not an easy scene to do!) 2. Glad there's a Steve Carrell movie on this list, but I also thought of the waxing scene in The 40 Year Old Virgin as well ...
great movie!! funniest one for me was when Ana says in the plane that "we can't land in Wales, I have to be in Dublin for leap year day, I have to propose to my boyfriend" (during the severe weather turbulence) and the priest sitting beside tells, "Atleast we are landing".
Best /funniest scene in my best friends wedding is Rupert at lunch pretending to Julia's fiancee and the made up story of how they met. And bridesmaids, shitting in the street scene.

Man that funny scene that this video picked for The Proposal I remember seeing this film in theaters with my best friends, Erin and Ashley, and that scene playing and we all cracked up!😂 We called it The Lion King scene because it looked like Sandra was actually holding up the dog like Rafiki actually holding up Simba!😂
I think the scene from Ever After where Danielle literally hauls the prince away from the gypsies like a sack of potatoes is the absolute funniest scene in any romance movie
Yes, it is very funny when Katherine Hepburn finally dumps her stingy fiancé, rejects James Stewart's proposal, and accepts the proposal of her ex-husband whom she had previously acted like she could not stand. Meanwhile Hepburn's sister Dinah and Stewart's photographer Elizabeth cracking jokes in the background just heighten the hilarity.
Mickey Blue Eyes 1999. After a hilarious scene in which James Caan tries to teach Hugh Grant how to speak with a NY accent, Hugh Grant tries out his new found skill at the restaurant in one of the all time funniest scenes in a comedy.
Agree, but I think the "Get Low" campfire dancing scene with Betty White was funnier than the eagle scene. Also, Betty White's fake heart attack. Also, naked run-in with Ryan Reynolds after the altercation with the dog.
@@mathewmanoel4301 When it was still in theaters, I took a family friend to see it after her mom survived a heart attack to cheer her up. She was about to strangle me in the heart attack scene until it was revealed to have been faked, then laughed harder than I've ever seen anyone laugh.
🎵 Best believe I punched Keanu Reeves and it was better than any scene you could see in Speed. I hit John Wick and now I'm feeling so appealing. Basically, I'm a god, you could call me Hercules 🎵

The way Ryan Gosling delivered the line, "what are you grabbing?", always gets me. His tone and intonation coupled with the situation he was in was just perfect.
I totally agree!!!
The scene in The Proposal where Sandra starts dancing is my favorite 😆
She and Betty? that was the best part of the movie for me.
When Sandra dancing and chanting in the woods? Same here. I think that was the funniest part. 🤣🤣🤣👍
Betty White was great in The Proposal
I still laugh out extremely loud at that part. 😂

The "Trini Lopez/Dirty Dozen" scene where Tom Hanks mocks Rita Wilson in Sleepless in Seattle is hilarious.

The dinner scene in The Ugly Truth (you know which one). That was freakin hilarious!

The karaoke scene in "My Best Friend's Wedding," isn't really that funny. It's painful.
The singing is painful but the support is really sweet
Agreed. There are funnier scenes in that movie. The bathroom scene in There’s Something about Mary is also much more painful than funny.
The lunch scene when they started singing "I say a little prayer for you" is funnier.
Right?! Secondhand embarrassment in the WORST way
I would add the scene from "While You Were Sleeping" when the mom checked if Peter actually only have 1 ball.
