Seeing you is helping me understand what a graphic designer does in a normal basis for work. Literally just in my second year in college and im kinda worried.
Left handed. Always good to see another lefty. We are creative monsters. Ha.
Can attest, my left-hand does wonders....... in the creative field.
I am lefty too. I have noticed that a lot of creative people are lefty 😅
Fun fact: left handed people are better at duels and sword fighting

I feel you girl , so glad I found your channel. I’m a full time graphic designer for a design agency, but I’m also a freelance graphic designer while pursuing my B.A. in Communication.
I’m studying in graphic design in high school right now and I’m planning on continuing it to college and separate classes and making it my job

Great video, I loved your day's activities as a freelance graphic designer.
This brings back memories, of not that long ago, when I worked from home. Definitely was more chill and laid back. As soon as we got a shop things got a little crazy, and it helped with separating personal and work life. I do miss being able to do what I please during slower months around the house. I will say our space, even though the bulk of our business is printing shirts, then graphic design... having the space increase how busy we are. I was an Art Director for 14 years and did a lot of freelance work. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.

Would also love to see a video about how to price for clients, do you give client outline forms (of what they are receiving & what does that look like?), do they pay half up front before you start their project, how do you package everything and send the designs to them at the end? Do you ever feel like Graphic Design May not be for you anymore? I transferred into my college and was thrown into my major since my prior school didn’t have it... so with me coming in as a Junior I was taking courses I should have maybe had freshman year. With that being said I’m in the fall semester of my senior year and I feel like I’m not as savvy with Graphic Design as my other classmates and it’s making me second guess my major (Digital Media: Visual Design Emphasis)... I know I shouldn’t compare myself but when critiques hit I’m just like wow I thought this was a good project for me and then my teacher comes in and boom... shatters the little confidence I do have..
Also sorry for this vent lol I feel like not many others will possibly understand.
A lot of people feel that way at first just gotta be willing to be trash first in order to be good but if deep down you’ve stuck with it for some time and you feel passionate about something else then I would say pursue the other thing. Other than that stick with it and keep learning you’ll improve trust.

Dude how i wish i could he in your situation right now being able to pursue Graphic Design! 😭 If you rly love it, accept the fact that you might do great sometimes & some other times you'll make mistakes & become better at it 💞

Thanks Paola for sharing your day with us, i remember when you and your friend get chose my logo for the critique, i like critiquing videos, hope you do more in the futur 😊
Don't forget to make sure who ever you design for gives you royalties for your work. Never fall for any scams from people looking for designers might tell you. Make sure you have a contract as well with whoever you are dong your work for. I usually charge a small upfront fee, then ask for a certain percentage in royalties when my work is used or displayed. It is the only way to protect yourself as a designer, musician, actor, artist, etc...

Love the idea of taking on small projects like the resume, do you charge hourly or a flat rate for them?
I do a flat rate since it usually doesn’t take long! It’s a great way to keep working and make a few extra dollars. So fun

what site do you get your fonts from ?? are they free or do you pay for them?
I’m using adobe fonts! It comes with the creative cloud plan. Sometimes I try to find free ones online or purchase from independent designers too but not as often☺️
You can try Googlefonts or Dafont. Both have mostly if not all free fonts 💕

Cuir actually rn I’m taking online classes.. It’s a waste of time for me to go to school again esp when I graduated a business course for Entrepreneurship few years ago.. I am 27.. Mostly what I do is self practice or self studying tho so you’re absolutely right that school is not really important esp on this generation most esp technology is taking over and youtube is my school now. When I have enough knowledge and skills I can start freelancing when I’m confident enough

Having many courses and certificates does not mean much if you do not learn their functionality in practice, it is easy to talk about illustrator and photoshop, but you need to practice and not just theories. Sorry for my bad English :(
