I was so glad I got to see Bon jovi on the slippery when wet and New Jersey tour. Their concerts were full of energy. Richie bar none is one of the best guitarists out there. Both on acoustic and electric. He can kill it on vocals as well.
If I could I'd like this song a billion times....this live version has so much energy...saw them so many times before he started sounding country and mailing in all his live performances now....Ahhh the good old days...

According to Behind The Music, the pressure was so horrendous that they gave him steroids so he could sing and do the show because he was making a lot of money for a lot of people. He was tired, miserable, vomiting a lot and really in bad shape. A far cry from the highly charismatic rocker you saw on stage. I'm amazed he did it for five years in a row when you add the Jersey Tour. I'm amazed they survived that.

This interview was there but the version on RUclips doesn't have it, I don't know...maybe I saw it elsewhere. As such when any musicians go on tour, they are under so much stress and food and sleep is never in abundance for them. Overnight Bon Jovi were thrust to super stardom and they became one of the biggest bands in the world. Jon was so young at only 24 with so much responsibility to perform, write and take care of the business end of his band and they are traveling all over the world playing shows over months/years on end with no breaks. Bon Jovi had gotten too big and the pressure was enormous therefore in the end, the guys are only human and have limits. But Jon through it all, has proven to be a real trooper, a true Cowboy on a Steel Horse. That's why he's still in the business today together with the other great 80's bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Aerosmith etc.
