    Jon shows that he's the ultimate showman at the end of this song when he and Ritchie are side by side front and center! There's no doubt that Jon was a natural and had many years of performing under his belt even prior to this performance, grinding it out in the club scene. Great performance...to have seen them live back then was even better. I saw them open for the Scorpions during first album, then saw them open for Ratt during second album and then saw New Jersey twice in the same month and the last time I saw them was during the Crush album tour. I was 15 the first time I saw them, standing right in front of Jon and he ruled that civic center from the moment he hit the stage! Best front man going back in the day...hands down!

    Everyone is at their best during their prime. Most just fade away, never to be seen or heard again. When someone hangs on as long as Bon Jovi (Rolling Stones, The Diamonds and others from the 60's), you just have to enjoy them for what they were, what they are now, and what they'll turn into in the future. Nothing stays the same. Voices change, bodies change, the ability to jump around and put on those awesome shows change, and you either change WITH them, or just watch the vintage vids here.

      he's not singing the chorus, it was david bryan. in the original version of this concert, you can hear the playback. that track was removed from the video. for that reason in 2:54 you can see Jon moving his mouth, but without voice.

      checkout this video, its tha same video, but with the original FM Broadcast from this same concert. see ya~

    This song is a voice killer. Epic, eternal performance right here, a true gem from a great singer.
    I understand the urgent need of a key change and lots of vocal expedients, though. It is just phisically impossible to mantain this level!

    So, we gonna talk about how at 1:18 he holds the mic out for the entirety of the bridge, but the voice continues?
    Or at 2:54, Jon’s voice cuts out at the exact moment David leans away from the microphone?
    David carried that band for so long, always covering for Jon whenever he blew his voice again. It’s a crying shame he’s not more recognized for it.

    • @FighterBJ
      @FighterBJ 5 лет назад

      At 2:54 he couldn't sing it. You can hear a slight scream came out at the end. :(

      For 1:18, when he holds the mic out, those voices are David's and Richie's singing the whole bridge, and after that, the whole choruses and key change are sang in their entirety by David

      He doesn't sing the chorus... It's the rest of the band Richie Alec n tico. His voice was to shot up to sing the chorus

    • @stavrosbsk7065
      @stavrosbsk7065 9 лет назад +3

      +Alvin Ng I don't think so...you can clearly notice at the last chorus where the key changes that he does the high notes like a scream

    • @alvinng9431
      @alvinng9431 9 лет назад +2

      +Stavros Bsk maybe or maybe not I guess, but unlikely. The reason I think he doesn't sing the chorus is cos it was 1987 and his voice was really hurt. I think it was either playback or backup vocals but nonetheless a great performance

    • @stavrosbsk7065
      @stavrosbsk7065 9 лет назад +1

      +Alvin Ng Yeah sure.. i agree with you..it was a hard time for him ..in most performances it's both playback and back vocals by richie, david,tico.. there are only a few performances where he sings the high notes

      @alvinng9431 9 лет назад +1
