Just thought I would take a few moments to comment on your videos, I don't usually do that. Now that I am retired I have time to view RUclips videos, especially diy vids, I enjoy those. As a subscriber to Sweet Project Cars, I feel compelled to comment because I think you do some marvelous, informative, professional, vids, that most any car owners would like. You did have a knack for presenting those vids extremely well. Your just a hard working non professional videographer doing several jobs, for very professional video results. You are prepared to do the video's (hard work), you have a natural CLEAR speaking voice, you don't waste people's time on unnecessary words, and you provide links and info below as needed to support your post. VERY IMPRESSIVE WORK!!
AdrepKeith, I don't know what to say, other than you nailed it exactly about us here at SPC's. We thank you more than you could know for your comment!! We know good things will come back to you for your kind words :)
+Sweet Project Cars ....Gosh thanks for the kudos, but dude I made a mistake and accidently hit the send button on this little tablet I was using, before I was finished. I didn't even get to proofread my text. I've been getting a little skymee (love that word) lately in my old age. Guess I won't get a job with your production company now...chit! seriously though I was going to go another few lines and point out a couple more things I like about your vids. One thing that drives me nuts about other peoples vids.....almost all of them start out saying "Hi GUYS". and throughout the video they say guys over and over. I go into a restaurant with my family, and the wait staff comes up and says "Hi GUYS" even though there are females in our party. I don't know it just bugs me! So I was impressed when you said hi guys AND gals. I'm old fashioned I guess and think folks is better...it's all inclusive. Anyway, I was going to give you guys 5 out of 5 stars on your videos, and even throw in 10 attaboys. Keith in Kalamazoo.
Hello Everyone Hope you are having a Great DAY :) This video is for the DIYer wanting to buff and clear coat their center caps, hubcaps and most all chrome and plastic, then clear coat them using two separate methods.
Sweet Project Cars Hi have you got any tips to get the damp smell and condensation out of a car, I keep getting condensation on the inside of the car especially at night when the temperatures drop any tips would be grateful.
Sweet Project Cars Great the previous owner install a sound system in a very shoddy way he drilled a hole under the car to thread the wire through into the engine bay. So the drive side and rear passenger Wells were ringing wet with water and I mean saturated I managed to clear most of the water but the condensation and smell still lingers, I could swing the guy right now.
So you were just showing two options with the rattle can and the pre-cat hvlp method right? I would say for heavy outdoor use the rattle can clear will not hold up very long. The clear with hardener will last longer and be more resistant to road salts etc. I do wonder how the adhesion will be with the canned stuff without hardener on polished metal. Nothing to bite into. The 2 part will form an integrated sheet of hardened material. Probably less likely to chip or peal off. But I may be wrong. Cool vid.
Watch this ruclips.net/video/MfkcTtgXTTw/видео.html it's our update with a new 2k clear that is FANTASTIC. Thank you for watching and sharing, we really appreciate your input, have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Night and Day difference indeed. I might add a disclaimer for your DIY audience. The best clear is a 2K clear vs 1K or the rattle can you demonstrated. 2K can be mixed as you did (excellent demo BTW) or bought in a rattle can. My disclaimer is wear an approved spray mask in addition to gloves due to the chemicals like isocyanates where even a little inhaled can do your lungs harm and spray in a ventilated area. Don’t take 2K clear for granted. The 2K rattle can clears are perfect for these small jobs if you don’t own an HLVP gun.
Nice job on the plastic chrome. You might want to get yourself a cheap turntable (like what the Mrs. might have in a cabinet in the house) to help when working with round items. Cheers. Merry Christmas and A Happy & Prosperous New Year.
We've never had a problem with it but we do now have a better process for these since producing this video. Use this goo.gl/Eqjnp3 it's faster, easier and much less expensive. Thanks for your question Anders. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
On really bad ones and slightly corroded ones i dipped them in alloy wheel cleaner then used fine wire wool when in the valeting trade but remember i did these on really bad centre caps which were totally neglected....then of course used compound and wax.You can make your vehicle worth more doing this incl buffing your paintwork like in other Sweet Project Cars videos. It's time consuming but it's cash in your pocket when selling.
Great video as always,I have used Mothers for years it really is so versatile, the side panels on my bike get dull from my leather jeans and the Mothers buffs them back to a shine ,I would like to see more on setting up a HVLP please
thank's partner for sharing love all your video's!!!! I'm so glad I found you on the tube I take note's on your work and wah lah!!! my friend's are stunned.
You are the Man! I do have a question. My 2012 Dodge charger has black metal trim underneath the door glass on the body. It has started to rust. The man that owned the car before me must have left it parked underneath Pine trees. How can I paint this metal trim with out taking it off of the car? This makes my whole car look bad. Wow, Thanks for the Shout Out! I was super stoked to hear that in the beginning! The Sweet Project Car Crew Rocks! Nice way to shine up those center caps and Yes, Please make that video of how to set up the spray gun. I know I'm going to start getting into painting that way and my cars really need new paint jobs. Really good job. But I've noticed that the 'chrome' plastic parts these days have a very light coat of chrome coat on them, not really allowing them to be polished. Any recommendations if one has polished through the chrome on plastic?
Jason if you have polished through, look at this vid ruclips.net/video/IDoIpxzZNqo/видео.html and see if it will help, it is the same method but use it on your plastics.
Excellent as normal ! Just one question, My air compressor uses oil and i don't want that oil being sprayed with the paint or clear. Is there a good filter system to use in line with it ? Or do i need a special air compressor ?
you can use this Truzo amzn.to/2j8mU8o also, our compressor uses oil in the air pump as well but it does not get in the airline..how is oil getting from the pump into your airline? Thank you very much, we truly appreciate you being here with us my friend :)
I'm about to start some CB radio projects and I think I'm gonna be able to Buff the plastic chrome faceplates on old cobras with the mothers.. wish me luck
Do you have a video on polishing the metal Crome around many windows. You know the stuff around car windows that get dull. The black rubber or plastic that surrounds this dull metal make it really hard to get to.
David Bryan Woodworks if the chrome is coated as some are there is no polishing it, buy if it is bare chrome (no coatings) we use this amzn.to/2MXju9Q and do it by hand. hope this help you
Hello, I love your editorials. I have a question. I am trying to refurbish my aluminum wheels. I have used walnut abrasives to get the old clear coat off. Now I used your links to aquire all the nessacery items for respray. Which of the three air guns do I use and what size nozzle at what psi do I use. Thank you in advance. God Bless.
This is great info, thanks. Question, can I use the same products to polish my plastic grille on my '96 Chev. 4x4 Silverado. I love the grill on this truck, but mine is showing age. I may have to find another use one and polish it since the one on my truck is starting to show little bubbles, and will likely loose the coating. Or, can it be resprayed, and that would be a different video. Thanks very much. I alway follow your videos because they are the best.
you sure can use the same products, or if you want to respray you can follow this video for that but use 600 grit sand it then prime it with etching primer then respray, this video here will give you some tips ruclips.net/video/IDoIpxzZNqo/видео.html even though it is on wheels it is the same concept ...let me know if you need more help...
jim that's awesome when you get your compressor you will be kickin with the chickens lol thank you for the great comment it is good for the entire channel :)

Would the two part clear coat work on headlights for longer lasting protection? Also, Rustoleum claim that their Ultimate Polyurethane Water Based Varathane will not yellow like solvent based varnishes do.
Just use this goo.gl/Eqjnp3 and you won't have to worry about any of that other stuff. See this video ruclips.net/video/hD2CKp9mco0/видео.html on how to use it. Thanks for being here with us my friend. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
all your tips and tricks are awesome and easy to do and since I've been watching your channel I've brought some of these ideas to work and it works! although I don't live in your country I still want to bring you my truck for a wicked awesome detail job
john we have controls like this one amzn.to/2j8Gm51 and we use foot pedal switches, but we know most DIYer's dont so we stay as simple as we can, Thank you very we truly appreciate you being here with us my friend :)
Sweet Project Cars Understand. The potentiometer/rheostat trigger control on the handle is fairly inaccurate and seemed “ratchety”. First time I used it, I knew it had limitations that could be improved. Thanks as always!
my Honda plastic chrome grill has developed a bubble in the chrome/brightplate. is it best to remove and paint or to buy a new one for the chrome look?
No Michael the problem with plastic chrome there is no paint out there that really matches well best thing to do is find an aftermarket replacement you’ll be much happier this way thank you for asking
You can do an entire wheel, we would use this goo.gl/Eqjnp3 for that process then you wouldn't have a huge mess. Thanks for asking. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars Hi, the link doesnt seem to work anymore. I followed you other video on polishing aluminum wheels but dont know how i can protect it
Does 2k clear coat stay on polished aluminium alloy rims? Sanded the surface with 2000grit and polished with mother and i want to keep the shining by applying clear coat does it work?
I want to clear coat my uncoated polished aluminum rims. After polishing them with Mothers, what would I wipe them down with before clear coating them that won't comprise their shine?
We did it for the video to let people know there are different ways to do it. Thanks for watching and asking Ricky. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Noticed in the beginning you say to feed the work into the wheel in a counter clockwise motion, as the wheel is running counter clockwise. What if you have a digital clock? What then? Haa
Wow great job, new subscriber here from the UK, i've tried almost anything on youtube what people have said works and it does not, i found your channel and i have done my headlights and they come up like brand new, a question for you if i may ask, what is the best thing for black bumpers mine have gone dull ?.....love the channel and your work you put in to it keep up the great work and have a great day :-)

You don't have to use that much Mothers Polish all you need is a a little dab here and there and the Polish will last you a lot longer especially once it gets on the Wheel.
You can use as much of it as you want if you use only a dab and it works for you that’s awesome for us we have found it works better using more thank you for sharing have a great day

Can't a tack cloth leave behind some of that sticky wax that could interrupt adhesion of the clear coat?
we have never had an issue with using a tack cloth but then again we don't rub hard just a light touch is all it takes
Will that also work on acid rain spots on your plastic chrome trimming?
feito casillas it sure will
awesome thank you
thank you for the great comment it is good for the entire channel :)
all your tips and tricks are awesome and easy to do and since I've been watching your channel I've brought some of these ideas to work and it works! although I don't live in your country I still want to bring you my truck for a wicked awesome detail job
Put a router speed control prior to the buffer for better speed control.
john we have controls like this one amzn.to/2j8Gm51 and we use foot pedal switches, but we know most DIYer's dont so we stay as simple as we can, Thank you very we truly appreciate you being here with us my friend :)
Sweet Project Cars Understand. The potentiometer/rheostat trigger control on the handle is fairly inaccurate and seemed “ratchety”. First time I used it, I knew it had limitations that could be improved. Thanks as always!
Thank
Welcome glad we could help have a great day Mike Sweet project car
my Honda plastic chrome grill has developed a bubble in the chrome/brightplate. is it best to remove and paint or to buy a new one for the chrome look?
No Michael the problem with plastic chrome there is no paint out there that really matches well best thing to do is find an aftermarket replacement you’ll be much happier this way thank you for asking
So how does the clear coat hold up on that polished surface? It doesn't peel off?
Good job
Ronald Thank you very much, we truly appreciate you being here with us my friend :)
Would you recommend doing this to an entire chrome wheel? Would the clear coat stick? Change color over time?
You can do an entire wheel, we would use this goo.gl/Eqjnp3
for that process then you wouldn't have a huge mess.
Shane use this and you will be good to go my friend :) amzn.to/2yIXQdq then just follow the directions on application
Sweet Project Cars Thanks!
you are very welcome Shane
Why you spray can the first coat and air spray the 2nd?
We did it for the video to let people know there are different ways to do it. Thanks for watching and asking Ricky. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Noticed in the beginning you say to feed the work into the wheel in a counter clockwise motion, as the wheel is running counter clockwise. What if you have a digital clock?
What then? Haa
well you will have to punt... lol thank you for the great comment it is good for the entire channel :)
Wow great job, new subscriber here from the UK, i've tried almost anything on youtube what people have said works and it does not, i found your channel and i have done my headlights and they come up like brand new, a question for you if i may ask, what is the best thing for black bumpers mine have gone dull ?.....love the channel and your work you put in to it keep up the great work and have a great day :-)
RC glad to have you with us, look at these and see if they will help you ruclips.net/video/s7jH1doEckY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/d8ZfXzqF-3Y/видео.html ruclips.net/video/FdiTTRLx6m4/видео.html

Hi, thanks for the reply, my bumpers are black plastic bumpers, they am not painted...there just black plastic bumpers.
had to watch again
LOL awesome :)
Many people don't realize ANY form of tape to cut the Deadman switch is OSHA approved ;-)
Nice! Literally just ordered 10oz of mothers after watching this on amazon lol
Thank you very much asus, and glad to hear this, we truly appreciate you being here with us my friend :)
How do you move your hands so fast? You must have a lot of experience doing this! Thanks!
Another great video I mothers is awesome.
Larry Loftis thank you very much and mothers does rock !!!
So what happens to polished aluminum if not clear coated
It will start to oxidize over time. Thanks for asking and watching. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars shit.
What if its inside
@@SweetProjectCars Even indoors?
@@SweetProjectCars could it just be polished with Mothers?
fun
thank you for the great comment we do appreciate that :)
Would a dremmel buffing wheel be good on the small indentations
give it a try my friend and see if you like the results thank you for the great comments :)
You don't have to use that much Mothers Polish all you need is a a little dab here and there and the Polish will last you a lot longer especially once it gets on the Wheel.
You can use as much of it as you want if you use only a dab and it works for you that’s awesome for us we have found it works better using more thank you for sharing have a great day
@7:39 , face reveal
lol we are coming out of hiding lol Thank you very much, we truly appreciate you being here with us my friend :)
The clear wont edge the aluminum
works great here :)
Can you explain why you use an crystal clear enamel before clear coat or it was different hug caps? Two options?
Genysmen runner you nailed it, my friend, we like to give different options as we know some do not have a spray gun.
Could you ceramic coat the chrome and plastic? Curious.
G Rock our ceramic coating goo.gl/z9TrgR will do as good of a job as the 2k clear and it is way easier
what if you need to use a spray can? 2k?
ryan then you would need this amzn.to/3lgx0W1 thanks mike spc
