      The best way they would say would be as follows. If they are in the Nassau Street Line, all Route A (M) trains to Middle Village would announce, “This is an uptown Brooklyn bound M train. The next stop is ...” While the Route B (M) trains to Bay Parkway would announce, “This is a downtown Brooklyn bound M train. The next stop is...” Just my thoughts.

      Big Apple Transit fan Which is bad because nobody was using it. They are fine with just the D train and there are enough subway alternatives in South Brooklyn (some of which are more frequent).

    • @TheRailLeaguer
      @TheRailLeaguer 2 года назад +1

      @@louisianafriesss The R is frequent, as if the other 4th Avenue services. However, to accommodate your concerns, what we can do is install two new switches on the 4th Avenue Line south of 36th Street (there are provisions for them). With these two new switches, you can simply swap the D and R trains south of 36th, so that the R would operate via West End to Coney Island, and the D would switch to local and make local stops south of 36th Street to 95th Street. The N would be unchanged. This allows for the R to directly access the Coney Island Yard and alleviate and direct yard issues, which would allow for the R to move back to Astoria-Ditmars, with the N moving to 96th Street. The W train would be absorbed into the R train as extra runs, with a few additional trains added to the schedule. As a result, the R would operate at 20 trains per hour. The Concourse-based D route would operate at 10-12 trains per hour.
      To replace the R on Queens Blvd, you can move the M via 63rd and swap the C and D north of 59th Street to allow for the C to operate express on the whole 8th Avenue Line south of 145th Street (the D would now be local to 168th Street). The void left by the R, M, and C would be filled in by a new K route between 71st Avenue and World Trade Center via 8th Avenue Local.
      This would make already frequent service more frequent and speed trips for everyone.

      v Stealz__ Really?
      Do you ever ride the subway to/from somewhere important because your attitude says otherwise.

    • @TheRailLeaguer
      @TheRailLeaguer 5 лет назад

      v Stealz__ Excuse me, I am not ruining the subway system. My plans are realistic and well thought-out. My recent plan for the Nassau-8th Avenue connections were posted here and on the NYC Transit Forums and have received positive feedback since they can improve the subway system efficiency. Those plan have since grown into a new proposal for the South 4th Street Subway. In fact, the guys on the NYC Transit Forums are also giving me advice to tweak the plans.
      In addition, there are better ways to address the problems of the West End service than bringing back the Brown M, which was practically used by nobody. One way to do it is by increasing the frequency of the D service. This is more preferable since we are not creating any net merges that could cause some reliability issues, as these trains will be simply an overlay of the regular D trains, whereas the Brown M created another merge to benefit ZERO riders.
      In the long term, I am also proposing to replace West End and Brighton service with service from the Second Avenue Subway vía the Manhattan Bridge. Since this is in tandem with my proposed South 4th Street Subway, 6th Avenue Express service would be rerouted to serve Williamsburg along the new subway.
      I will release those plans at a later date. In the meanwhile, I also have plans for the Nassau-8th Avenue connection, which would serve as the prelude to the S. 4th Street Subway (Note: Both also include plan for a tunnel between the Whitehall Street station with the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station). This
