Gonna say it right now, at 0:31 that slow mo is sick and you should keep that as maybe a staple to your vids, definitely something new and informative as well.
Wow we have same Letter in the first name
Solid work as usual. Good job.
Nice video Mr Railfan.
Keep up with the good work.😉
The slo mo party of the video is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥that slo mo diamond
That’s so cool what you did with the slow mo keep it up
The express in Brooklyn for the AM/PM rush hour is coming back in service this upcoming Monday
I ride the F Express train to school. I railfan the F Express
I rode the 2 to school, before bus service
We need it back
same!
You suck, bro
There have been new announcements for the when entering Jay St and 7th Ave Going toward Coney Island.
When you put the slow mo of f train to coney island that suprise me and that you even had those editing skills like that.
That lady sounds mad happy when she says briarwood, the lady making the announcement on the 4 or 5 at nevins sounds pissed
The lady that announces Briarwood her name is Catherine Cowdery
the lady who recorded announcements for the 4 5 & 6 trains is or was a reporter. Her voice is not going to be exactly mellow
I’m surprised they haven’t updated it like the 6 and 7 train with a connection to the local or even the G at 7th ave
Yea that surprised me too
If this pilot test succeeds, they would eventually add it in as I'd like to believe.
It is definitely shocking but they probably just made the edit to the destination announcement and didn't really think much about the rest
@@JamaicaZ160R1793010A Don't hold your breath...
They've updated the transfer at Jay St and 7th Ave to include the F local and G trains now
2:33 This is a Manhattan bound F local train
3:04 This is a Manhattan bound F Express train
it started going express
For everyone saying why this won’t run express between Church Avenue and Coney Island, the reason for this is the current track configuration and lack of any real benefits. More specifically, from the MTA analysis:
Current Infeasibility of Express between Kings Hwy and Church Av
A one-way peak direction express service between Kings Hwy and Church Av, with locals generally originating or terminating at Kings Hwy and expresses operating through from or to Coney Island-Stillwell Av, is not feasible given the current track and switch layout at Kings Hwy. Modernization of the Kings Highway interlocking has been programmed in the current capital plan, and is planned to include the additional switches required to allow for smooth operation of a one-way express service on this segment upon completion after 2019. However, the marginal impacts of this express segment would lead to approximately equal numbers of passengers losing time (from longer waits) and gaining time. Moreover, nearly all of the benefitting passengers would board at stations between Stillwell Av and Kings Hwy, where most passengers already have nearby access to alternative express services to Manhattan. Most of the passengers between Kings Hwy and Church Av, who are more dependent on the Culver line, would only have local service and therefore longer waits.
This should answer your questions.
#carryon
How about more of ur plans lol
I am fine with no peak-direction express at the Culver Line (3-track part). I am not a fan of the current Church Avenue Express, considering that there are 2 express tracks that are heavily underserved. If the (V) comes back, I wish that it serves the Church Avenue Local, so that (F) trains can run express there all times.
Cool thing at 3:01-3:03. It said This Is A Brooklyn bound F Lcl train Via Queens Blvd Local line The next stop is 67 Street
8:40
No for real, I just noticed that the 6 and 7 actually have the angle brackets on the LCD Interior Displays, while the F Doesn't. That's interesting
R160B Alstom Express Train Via Queens Blvd Exp/63rd/6th Ave Lcl/Culver Exp
nice i got the express announcement too
Why are there only 2 in each direction? They should add more. Do you know if they will add more in the future after the signal modernization?
I still did not see the point of updating the transfer at 42nd St...
I wish that 2 diamond F trains should run in both directions during Rush Hours between Jay street and Church Avenue.
@MqchaXD no its 2 brooklyn exp f trains that run during am and pm rush only in one direction
I think it should be a permanent express. And the G trains should be fully lengthened.
Nice
Good one
The way she says "F Express Train"! :-)
There should be a stop at Bergen St for the . If the MTA ever decides to reconstruct the lower level Bergen St Platform, that means that passenger won't have to take the G all the way to 7th ave for the . They can just use the lower level for an interchange.
And make the permanent for all throughout the days. Just increase service on the G trains, by making em longer or add more trains per hr to service between Bergen St and Church Ave
That would be $75 million please.
Plus these guys don’t even need to use the F train. G train riders between 7th Avenue and Bergen Street that need the F train can instead ride to Hoyt-Schermerhorn and transfer to the A or C trains, which will get them to a nearby station.
Also, making every F train express throughout the entire day will do nothing but deprive people of a direct ride to Manhattan on the northern end.
@@TheRailLeaguer 🤓
@@ItsDuckToYouI agree with this
It’s about time
Feel like something should be done about lower Bergen, like that should be the split for local and express F's, maybe even G's, like Nostrand is for the A/C (still paranoid about that one time an F decided to go express to 7th Ave with no announcements for the connecting A at Jay St as I was coming home from Manhattan late at night)
Jamar Murray The express tracks do not connect to the Crosstown G Line. If they were to reactivate it ($75 million upfront cost), then it should solely serve Culver express trains.
I love it
I miss NYC my hometown
Are the R211 announcements going to be different than the R143/160/179s?
No one knows yet
I’m from the future, the R211 announcements are the exact same
F train stops is 169 St Parsons Blvd
YAY
Do you use a microphone when recoding these?
Yes, I had a specialized microphone that I used. Unfortunately for newer announcements I just use my phone recorded so theres a little disparity In quality
Hey Mr railfan Next can you do the F Express train to Jamaica 179th street please
i kown is it
I take the F express train last Friday for first time
Have the F train go express between Church Avenue and Avenue X in Peak directions only.
Joshua V The only people that would benefit from the F express section between Church Avenue and Kings Hwy are those living south of Kings Hwy, and these guys already have ample alternatives for express service. The next best alternative would be the Brighton B and Q. The bus rides between the two is not that long.
The passengers living north of Kings Hwy would not benefit from an express device between Kings Hwy and Church Avenue. Unless any service is added back in compensation, these guys will be forced to wait longer for a train (and no, extending the G is not a viable option for them, since it serves different clientele).
JeremiahC99 Would that change if the fleet got expanded with the R211 order?
kingoftrainz The problem with adding service involves track capacity, not just fleet size. Currently, the 6th Avenue can host around 28-30 trains per hour. The M used around 9 trains and the F 15 trains. The line also travels express on Queens Blvd, which is used by the E. The E requires 15 trains per hour. You could add extra trains on the Queens Blvd Line, and then along the 53rd Street Tunnel and Queens Blvd Local tracks. However, both of those tracks are used by the M from Brooklyn. The M was changed in 2010 to serve the 6th Avenue Line, which has benefitted 22,000 riders. Due to the sheer popularity of the service, M service was increased from 8 trains to 9 trains per hour. After service is increased to 10 per hour, then you are precluded from adding more than ONE train.
Even if extra capacity existed and extra cars is available, the demand is simply not there for an express service between Kings Hwy and Church Avenue. The benefitting passengers would be better off riding the bus to the Brighton Line.
Therefore, in my new mater plan, with the Nassau-8th Avenue connection (and eventually, the S. 4th Street Subway), I plan to introduce a proper Culver Express service in the form of the V. Under this plan, F service would decrease from 15 trains to 12 trains and V service would operate at 12 trains per hour, giving a net total of 9 additional trains between Kings Hwy (where the V will terminate) and Church Avenue as well as in Manhattan and Queens. In Queens, both the F and V would run Local and the E and new K (replacing the R) would be express. Past Briarwood, the E and V would go to Archer Avenue (new extension to be built past Parsons/Archer) while the F and K go to Hillside Avenue. More details on this soon.
However, in short, the current situation would not be changed with the R211 fleet due to track capacity, switch layout, and demand.
JeremiahC99 Why make so many drastic changes to Queens Blvd? Would long-time customers really be satisfied with that? As I remember, when the V was first instituted in 2001, F train riders along 53rd St were disappointed they didn’t have a one-seat express ride to Jamaica-179 anymore, same in the opposite direction to Coney Island. 20 years later, the orange M is very popular and those people aren’t complaining anymore. Although the R has it’s issues, rebranding it completely would confuse customers. With the money you would need to build those extensions, you could easily fix the interlocking at Kings Highway to make an F express service more plausible. And while an interesting idea, where’s the demand for service past Parsons/Archer or 179?
@@kingoftrainz One of the reasons why I am making drastic changes to the Queens Blvd Line is that I've talked with the guys on the NYC Transit Forums, and there's been some division over the Culver Express, R yard Issues, and the like. When I made my plans for the Nassau-8th Avenue Connection, I made service changes to every line since our current patterns are not affected. One of the lines that were affected was the Queens Blvd Line, already one of the busiest in the system. The big change I made was removing the R since the R on Queens Blvd impacts the reliability issues of the whole line. Therefore, I rerouted the line back to Astoria (to address the yard issue while at the same time increase capacity, I also had the R service rerouted from the 4th Avenue Line to the Fulton Street Line to Euclid Avenue, were the existing Pitkin Yard is readily available to accommodate the R fleet). When my plan posted, they also suggested I also deinterline the QB Line at 36th Street. Two suggestions were offered:
-Have the E and K go express and F and V local. G service to be extended on the line.
-Have the E and K go local and F and V express. G service remains the same.
I eventually chose the first option.
In addition, my plan retains direct service between the Myrtle Avenue Line and Midtown Manhattan. However, it would be via the 8th Avenue Line (which currently runs under capacity) instead of the 6th Avenue Line. The service would also be redesignated as the K. 6th Avenue service would be replaced by the V for Culver Express. They also suggest rerouting all 8th Avenue Local trains to the Broadway El, replacing service to Lower Manhattan due to demand changes.
The plan has since evolved into new plans for a new South 4th Street Subway to replace the outdated Jamaica El.
Here is the link to the original plan: drive.google.com/open?id=1SeL9tHd9_mr2gLertrqJd329ADbTJpts&usp=sharing
I live like less than 1 block from one, I wish I could have see you
Your forgot on weekends when the (M) train goes to Lexington Ave 59th st
This only runs during rush hours
Express
LOL at 3:00It says this is 1⁄2 local train via queens bullard local line
Is that Charlie pellet from Bloomberg radio?
That is.
Ok.
My question to you is, where is this F Express now?
Haven't seen the service operated in awhile now.
It happens but most of the time the trip scheduled to run it runs local or the trip itself isn't run due to lack of staff. If the previous trip is canceled than they run the express local.
2 Diamond F train should go express Between Jamaica and Forest Hills in both directions during rush hours.
Joshua V You got three rush hour E trains doing that job. No need yet.
Make another one
OMG! R160 with a diamond Display! 1!1!1!
Can somebody make a video of a custom R142 F train that uses the voice of the 2 train when saying "The next stop is" but uses the R179 voice when saying "This is." That would be really cool and weird.
The problem here is there aren't enough trains running
The V should be brought back as the Express service along Hillside, queens Blvd Smith st,and Culver.
It definitely would help travel times
The F world continue to be the same.
All Kings Hwy F trains would become V trains, running Express in peak direction along the Culver el, Express both directions Church to Jay, Express along Queens Blvd and Hillside Ave to Jamaica.
The V could also operate along the Express tracks on sixth avenue, but I suspect that might interfere with trains going to Central Park West,or Manhattan Bridge.
Overall, Bringing back Express service to the F line should have been done years ago
Especially the subway 7,R and F train
5:10 WAIT I RECOGNIZE THAT ANNOUNCEMENT
Does the f express still run?
Yea
To Coney Island amazing also is express
It’s so short now
Lexington Av 63 St
Hi I am you fan
i agree
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss
Only if it went to Kings Hwy, then it would ACTUALLY be considered Culver Express. The only problem is the other F trains short-turning there to go back to Jamaica
It would be smart to short turn the s at Kings Highway.
arvoos Having F trains run express between Kings Hwy and Church Avenue would not bode well for those living north of Kings Hwy, who are way more dependent on the Culver Line.
The benefitting passengers (the ones who would benefit from an express service north of Kings Hwy) would be much better off riding the bus to the Brighton Line and riding from there instead.
HplusG Do not even consider an express service between Church Avenue and Kings Hwy, with only one stop at 18th Avenue. That would benefit absolutely no one.
JeremiahC99 ok foamer

They should have added more F express trains during rush hour in both directions. The F express should be between Jay Street Metro Tech and Coney Island
Duncan Koch Under your stupid plan, passengers between Church Avenue and Kings Hwy would end up losing half of their service. The only people that would benefit from an express service are those who live south of Kings Hwy, and they already have a viable express alternative (Brighton Line). Passengers north of Kings Hwy would end up seeing longer waits. More specifically fro the MTA Analysis (which is NOT flawed):
Current Infeasibility of Express between Kings Hwy and Church Av
A one-way peak direction express service between Kings Hwy and Church Av, with locals generally originating or terminating at Kings Hwy and expresses operating through from or to Coney Island-Stillwell Av, is not feasible given the current track and switch layout at Kings Hwy. Most of the passengers between Kings Hwy and Church Av, who are more dependent on the Culver line, would only have local service and therefore longer waits.
Yea but there will still be Local F in both directions in Brooklyn at all times including F express.
Passenger that need to get off at a local stop can take a local F and passenger that needed the express to and from Coney Island Can not be late. Because of overcrowding trains and stopping at all stops
Duncan Koch But it won’t be enough. According to the MTA analysis:
Current Infeasibility of Express between Kings Hwy and Church Av
A one-way peak direction express service between Kings Hwy and Church Av, with locals generally originating or terminating at Kings Hwy and expresses operating through from or to Coney Island-Stillwell Av, is not feasible given the current track and switch layout at Kings Hwy. Avenue X is a local station like Avenue U. In the 1970s, the F train ran express in Brooklyn between Kings Highway and Bergen Street. Now, Bergen Street was made a local station since the lower platforms are replaced at that station.
Captain Keyboard There is no express stations south of Kings Hwy. South of there, there are switches between the middle track and both of its middle tracks, but it requires that trains must skip Avenue U. At the southern end of the middle track south of Avenue X, it continues as a yard lead to Coney Island Yard, with a switch to the southbound local track.
@@TheRailLeaguer I know. There has never been express trains running south of Kings Highway except when a General Order calling for a local track to be taken out of revenue service due to maintenance work.
