I know this is a video you did 5 years ago. But I’m just now doing my homework on setting up a bearded dragon set up. And I’m thinking of getting this. You explained this device better the ZooMed did! Thank you so much for making it!
I just got that exact therm about 2 months ago. I love it. Wish it was proportional instead of off and on but for the price u can't beat it. Great vid and info.
So im trying to understand where should i put the probe i litterally have this same exact thermostat if i tape it to my heat mat it doesnt work properly how yours just did with the water
I remember i bought a knock off brand from Pro Exotics back in the day and they lasted 7 years along with there laser pointer tempgunz that worked great. Great vid bro very informative might need to get some.... thx for sharing this
So here's a question, and a bit of background to frame it. I live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, It's a "temperate" rainforest where it goes from mostly 70's and 80's in the summer to 30's and 20's in the winter. Though you can never be sure what the weather has in store. I would love to keep a monitor, But have concerns about keeping them warm in the winter without over heating in the summer. These seem like a great solution. But I'm wondering if one would be enough for a whole set up or if it would be better to have say one for the over all temp. and as second to regulate the basking area? I know humidity has an affect on air temp. and should be considered as well. Any insight would be greatly welcomed.
I might be getting one thermosthat but I've got a question... How does the thermostat work at night if it gets too cold? I mean the heat mat stays on so how does it work if the temperature descends beyond the one u selected? Or the heat mat goes off at night? Can someone explain me pls?!?
I amputting this out there to anyone that sees it I have watched so many and no were do they say were the probe goes I was given a lepord gecko and I have no idea wereto put the probe on the thermastat under or in
He said that it will keep heating up to that temperature set anything over that it acts as a killswitch if it gets too cold it opens the circuit to come back on so it's constant fluctuation of temp simulating the real cycle.

They need to make this WiFi.
if I get a dimmable fixture will this thermostat dim it accordingly or does it only flicker on and off
Just how does this work for a snake enclosure
Do you have to turn the bulb on and then it controls it? Or does the thermostat turn it on by itself?
Awesome vid, never thought of the backup. Thanks

Awesome video...I’m going to have to try that out..I’ve been using inkbirds thermostats which work pretty good.
How do you set up a thermostat redundancy?
How would you connect another one when there is only one plug?

I feel it means that if the temp exceeds the setting it's a kill switch for devices then comes back on when temp gets too low.
What store can I get mines in because thermostat is sold online
Thank You🙏 excellent, clear review👍💯
SUPER helpful!!! thanks man
Use a dimming thermostat with a bulb not an on-off and DO NOT use a vapour bulb with a thermostat
Would a dhp be considered a vapor bulb?

Probes go in between the mat and the enclosure to regulate proper temperatures.
@@NewEnglandReptile thank you so much
So will this stay at a constant on if the temp is at constant 85 degrees ?

J F thanks for the reply. I ended up going with the WIFI INK BIRD. Totally understood everything after I got it set up & running.
@@Stacker_Actual I'm glad I could help for I am an invertebrate breeder.
Do you have any blue tongue skinks?
Thanks
where did you buy this from?
zambimaru I can get them at Zoo Med dot-com
Tajah Colyer How do you get prices or actually buy them online? My phone only lets me look at details, but I get no prices or options to buy it.
Is that a nutty fluorescent flood bulb?
