  • Solo mountain camp in my Hilleberg Soulo.
    Heading out from Dunmail Raise and following the path up the side of Raise Beck to Grisedale Tarn. My ascent continued to Grisedale Hause before the steep pull to the summit of Seat Sandal at 2414ft (736m). I pitched my Hilleberg Soulo in a sheltered area of snow just below the summit.
    Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed it.
    Drone used is the DJI Mini 2.
    All the best - Dave

    Outstanding video Dave! Regular spots doesn't appear on Dave's map, but it shows the adventure spots. Next time when you camp on Seat Sandal, wear some sandals instead of hiking boots. I'm only joking with you. There's always time for a brew with a view. Gorgeous waterfall. Thanks for sharing, take care, Jordan.

    1:02 RN Merlin I think. You get quite a bit of low level aircraft through there. I used to sit up there days on end photographing them, either the valley sides of dunmail raise or up get up onto helm crag, take the tent and stop on top the night ready for day 2. Just a shame we don’t have the aircraft numbers these days, it’s quietened down a lot.

    Hi Dave, You don't need that dubbed wind effect, your camps are epic enough without it ( reminds me of Erik Normak's videos and his added crow noise ) :-) Seriously though great stuff and look forward to your Cairngorm adventures, keep smiling and camping, the only way is up! A

    • @TheSoloSummiteer
      @TheSoloSummiteer  2 года назад +1

      Haha. For me it’s all about setting the mood and the emotion in my videos. I do this with the music but unfortunately (unlike our Erik) my equipment isn’t good enough to capture the true sound of the wind and it just becomes an annoying noise. I’m certainly not adding things that aren’t already there, but just better conveying the atmosphere. Cheers bud 🙏🏻

    Echo what's been said. Sorry things aren't great but try to remember that everything comes in waves and phases so just ride it out and keep doing the things you love. You are in complete control of how you react to the s**t. Take strength from that. Looked a nice, uneventful but scenic camp. Just what's needed 😊

    Another fab vlog. Love it. There on Friday for a week - super stoked. First of three visits this year. Will then Be back in May taking part in the Cumbria challenge for the vets. Don’t let the doorstep stuff consume you. You will get through it - some of your camping conditions prove you have the fortitude to endure tough conditions. Stay strong fella. We are all behind you. Solo Summiteers. How’s the hand - looks better? Can wait till you get the drone up in these conditions. I often do Seat as a quick walk when I arrive up from the South Coast. 0500 start on Friday for me 😆

    Absolutely loved that, Dave! Well done, you! I would be petrified to wild camp in those conditions, so all power to you. At 58 years I'm a bit of a novice wild camper, but I'm inspired to get out more by the likes of your good self. Big thank you, and all the very best.🏕

    Another cracking video Dave, totally lose myself in those drone shots with the back ground music mate. Listening to you at the end Dave is why we all do what we do and why we all support your videos. That momentary release from the crap life can throw at us that the mountains give us is why we push on. Everyone's struggle is different, but like you said about this wild camp being a bit of a challenge, you wouldn't do it it if wasn't. I think I can safely say for every subscriber on here, your videos help everyone of us in some sort of way. You are doing more good than you probably imagine, so I hope that's enough for you to keep digging in and giving us these great vids mate. Up there myself next weekend, too long the wait has been. Can I ask where you got your water bottle holder on your strap. I've looked on-line and some seem a ridicules price for what they are. Cheers

    I'm guessing this camp felt like a summer camp compared to where you are right now (up north)! Grizedale Tarn looked so calm, surprised no other camper were there, the whole video had a calmness to it, great spot to camp too, looks awesome in white.
    Can I ask about your hand, your fingers seemed to be in that closed position whenever I looked, did the surgery go well?
    Top job with the video mate, and women are always cold water swimming, love it haha! 🏞🤘

      Hi Paul and thank you. My hand is doing ok but the fingers have started to close again, not because of the dupytrens, but because of the scar tissue after the operation. Very frustrating but it is what it is. ATB Dave
