@@SchwinnXchange LOL Yeti Tundra coolers are not made in China. They are made in the USA or Philippines. If thats a selling point, you can call Yeti and let them know you want your cooler made in the USA. I go camping for weeks and leave the cooler in the sun. None of them warped. Lemons do happen. Especially when you sell more coolers than anyone else. The air valve is a gimmick. I have one in a nICE cooler it does nothing unless you take your cooler to the bottom of the ocean or Everest. Thats why you dont see them on high quality coolers (Yeti, Orca, Pelican) but you can believe the hype. I dont know of anyone that lost their plug lol.The roadie is made for a day trip. The height is so you can put wine bottles or tall drinks. The Roadie has built in handles so you can flip and empty. Like I said is made for a day trip. Oh and Pelicans, Yetis' Orcas, Rtics none of them are leak proof, not even the everbuilt. That's so you can put dry ice inside. But to answer your question, what makes it better...it keeps ice longer which is what a cooler is suppose to do. And the accessories.
For the difference in the price and the way I use a cooler, I would opt for the Everbilt - price would be one factor and the ruler on the top is another ... I do fish but seldom need to keep things in a cooler for multiple days at a time.
I like this even with the bias, The fact that I can secure to something and the can opener + $100 or more savings. Taking a hike and not wondering if I will lose a $200 cooler while I am gone fishing or whatever. Kool features worth stars. But you will be fitting in with other yuppies if you buy the Yeti.
We were trying not to be bias on the review but thanks for the feedback. Both Johan and Pete did prefer the Yeti design-wise but the Everbilt definitely had more features especially for the price. One thing we didn't cover is the fact that the Yeti looked worn much quicker with it's glossy finish then the matte(?) finish of the Everbilt. Both were scratched up but one would definitely see the cosmetic flaws first on at least this color of the Yeti.
@@slickdeals you both did a poor job of hiding the bias in the beginning. But at the end you both redeemed yourselves. I see too many of these reviews where the Yeti fanboys spend the whole review trying to justify the price. Both of you admitted that the Yeti wasn't a bargain. The major selling point for the Yeti is that it's supposed to keep ice for a week, which they do well. But realistically I have never needed to keep ice for a week. A 3 or 4 day camping trip is about the longest I have ever used a cooler.
Yeti is the best at marketing. They sell an image and they look cool. A lot of people would rather buy something iconic and cool looking vs something that works well.
For the ice test since both does not have the same capacity, it would be a fair comparison if they will be filled like 100% or 90% ice? Since dead air/space is a factor too.
Do same size or cool both down before fill both with ice up to top. Hope you guys improve next time time. Thank you for the entertainment and drop test.
If we only want 24 hours of cooling, a $24, 28-qt Igloo Laguna cooler from Walmart does the job just fine. I take it on my weekends and still usually have ice left after 36 hours or so. It sits on the passenger seat, so it's not exactly in the shade, but if it was to be in direct sun on a hot day then I'm sure there would be more of a difference between it and a cooler 10x the price.
My 20 dollar igloo special is still going strong.. my Yeti got jacked on our first camping trip.. so there’s that comparison. And second of all.. around here that Everbilt is 80 bucks. Oh well, still using the ol igloo LOL

@@slickdeals thanks for the reply, I’m only curious because of just how fast the water blew out the back. I would think being dropped on the lid would actually compress and seal the lid better for a second, but it was instant while the lid was compressed. Just one of those things I guess. Thanks for the video!
Sooo.....the Everbilt is 26 qt vs. Yeti 24 qt. That means the Yeti is .92 the size of the Everbilt. That alone counts for 1.52 lbs of lost ice in the test. They said the Yeti lost 6.2 lbs. vs. the 8 lbs. in the Everbilt. Add in the 1.44 lbs. (if the Yeti was the same size as the Everbilt) and the test gets MUCH closer, especially given the price difference! This is assuming my math is correct. I admit it has been awhile since I have been in school. :) This makes them much closer, not counting esthetics. Even at the normal price of $89.00.
The ice melt test was poorly done. Since they used the same amount of ice for coolers with different volumes, the larger cooler will always be at a disadvantage. If you did the same test with the Roadie 24 and the Roadie 48, you'd get the same results. The smaller cooler will outperform the larger one because of the difference in air space.
I have an RTIC 24. Looks just like the Everbilt. $100. By far the best cooler I have ever owned. I’ll fill it with drinks and ice on Friday, it will sit on my boat until Sunday and still have ice in it on Sunday. I have yet to find YETI anything that outperforms RTIC, or other manufacturers for that matter. I only own one yeti cup, and that’s because of the magnetic slide on the lid. They do have everyone beat with that. That was a great idea. But as far as coolers and cups, they are no better than anyone else at keeping things cold or hot. You’re just wasting your money.
don't mean to be a nerd here but for any hard cooler like this they should be pre cooled before putting ice in em according to their owner's manual. Just like when you pre heat a mug or something for tea or espresso. 👍🏼
You forgot the test if you ran over it or it fell out of your truck on the highway, which one would produce less stress. Everbuilt is clear winner and by far best value.
I don't understand why yeti would skip the drain plug on their tallest cooler. If I have wine bottles upright the last thing I want to do is tip it over to drain or even worse pulling everything out to tip over and drain
I can take the $150 and change I'll save on the Everbuilt fill it with food, drinks and ice 🧊 and still have $$ left over for gas ⛽️ , and bottle opener and drain plug to boot, Everbuilt for the WIN 🏆.
Coolers last forever, I've had two that I've been using for twenty years. Buy the best one you can afford because you'll likely be using it for the rest of your life.
The only real difference is that it looks pretty. And alot of people pay extra money for a prettier looking thing. Yeti knows this and targets those people lol I thought for that price it must be significantly better at retaining the cold temps for longer..not the case
The everbilt is the exact same height as the Yeti load out Bucket. I have both and they make a nice pair. I use the bucket for my dog’s food container plus water and food bowl plus teether. The everbilt is just used for beer and beverages. I often set my two burner stove on top of the cooler it is just the right size. I like the recessed cup holders and have had a great experience with the everbilt. Well worth $40. With the money you save buy a yeti loadout bucket maybe eve the lid, caddy and insert. Then you can be weird like me.
The drain spout is to drain the excess word out of the cooler not to empty the cooler Some people may not can lift the cooler like other people can to turn it over in empty or drain the water out of it And especially if you have cans of soda or beer or whatever else you may have in it

Seems like a pretty biased review in favor of the overpriced, Yeti. At the end of the day you're paying an extra $160 for the name. 2:20: I honestly think he's trying to make it look harder to latch the Everbuilt 4:32: They do it again 6:30: They insult anyone who'd buy the overbuilt, "If you're clumsy it's the better one" (I paraphrase) 7:30: When Everbuilt wins the drop test, it is sarcastically referred to as scientific, insinuating that the drop test shouldn't really be taken as seriously as the the tests that Yeti won... because those were "more scientific". No nothing about this video is "scientific", these guys are not scientists. 7:34: Making it look and sound extra difficult to open the Everbuilt and continuing to make the better latching system seem like a worse design? 8:09: You can use the Yeti as a seat (cut to shot of both reviewers sitting on both coolers)... Looks like one can also sit on the Everbuilt 9:02: THE EVERBUILT HAS A BOTTLE OPENER?! Why didn't you guys mention that, are you kidding me? Let me get this straight. The Everbuilt has cup holders, a bottle opener, and a drain spout. The Yeti has none of these, yet it is a better design? The Ice test was hardly a scientific experiment. Both coolers would have measured the same temperature at the end of the 24 hours. Why not measure the weight and volume of water that resulted from ice melting as well as the weight of the unmelted ice? Then you would have a better comparison of how much h20 you started with vs how much was in a liquid vs solid state at the end of the 24 hours? I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that Yeti costs $160 more so that they can afford to pay these hooligans to make videos like this. I should do my own cooler review.

Hi Daniel! We actually discuss in the video that neither of us believes the YETI is worth the price tag. We wanted to see if a $200 cooler is really THAT much better than a $40 one and we determined: no, not really. You're correct, the Everbilt definitely wins on features (it has cup holders, a bottle opener, and a drain spout) but we both thought it did not look as nice as the YETI. This test was not supposed to be scientific in any way. There are hundreds of great cooler reviews on RUclips that dive deeper into the features and performance of each cooler. This was meant to illustrate what you get when you pay that much more money for a cooler. Turns out, the YETI is nicer in some ways (not every way) but you are also paying a lot for the brand name (which we mention in the video). In our testing, we preferred the YETI slightly over the Everbilt. However, was it $160 better? We didn't think so, which is why we said we would only want one if someone gifted it to us. In terms of performance, the $40 Everbilt deal was the best cooler deal we've ever seen on Slickdeals. For that price, we don't think there's a better cooler out there (if you find one, let us know and we'll test it). The seat test was just a little joke that the YETI's extra height makes it a bit more comfortable to sit on, nothing more.
@@xleafr Opening wasn't super difficult but you still to pull hard forward (hence why Dan struggled opening it before checking the ice levels) but closing was the real hassle. Johan took it camping with his family and they quickly got tired of and/or were unable to latch it closed.
Travel ball parents love coolers that don't have a big footprint in their folding wagons at tournaments. The wider the cooler's footprint, the less room for chairs, food, fans, etc.
The generic cooler was set up for failure , it’s inside dimensions are bigger than the Yeti’s therefor more space to keep cool and more space for hot air at start of test . In order for test to had been fare , you would have obtain equal size coolers .. Also the Yeti when dropped , was dropped flat on its lid , the cheap cooler took the hit , rite on edge .. ( The takeaway ) the cheaper cooler is a better value and potentially holds ice as long as Yeti 🤔
Locks don't mean Shit to a Bear...I have seen a Yeti get it's top popped in a second, I believe the cooler still sits in the Kancamagus Highway Welcome center in NH
Glad I'm not the only one late to the game on this one, but yeah. I'm kind of with you on this one. Since the Yeti is 2CuFt smaller, less air space. Less air space means the same amount of ice will cool it more. (Think about the whole "a full freezer will stay cold longer than an empty one" adage.) Plus the taller design of the Yeti means cold air doesn't spread as much as it falls. So yeah....science! The amount of ice left is a marginal measurement, IMHO, but it was the one that they could easily convey on camera. Temp of the drinks would have also required a 'pre-cooler' temp to show not only how cold, but how much colder did it get.
People who work in construction or outdoor jobs use coolers like these daily for their employees to have water bottles available and refilling them with ice daily can be annoying and expensive over time, so I see where people need the ice to last a couple of days.

Those fish look surprisingly like Topo Chicos
awesome comparison!
Yes the ruler on the cooler is for measuring fish
thanks for the vid Im getting the everbuilt.
For the difference in the price and the way I use a cooler, I would opt for the Everbilt - price would be one factor and the ruler on the top is another ... I do fish but seldom need to keep things in a cooler for multiple days at a time.
These guys like the Yeti look and more importantly the marketing has influenced them.
I like this even with the bias, The fact that I can secure to something and the can opener
+ $100 or more savings. Taking a hike and not wondering if I will lose a $200 cooler while
I am gone fishing or whatever. Kool features worth stars. But you will be fitting in with other
yuppies if you buy the Yeti.
9:10 That is funny, and thanks for the review!
Great quality video. Thanks guys
Those T latches fucken RULE!!!!
They forgot to mention the bottle opener on the ever-built cooler. Very handy!
Do same size or cool both down before fill both with ice up to top. Hope you guys improve next time time. Thank you for the entertainment and drop test.
I hope I run across that $40 deal at Depot. I've needed a cooler awhile but can't afford to spend a couple big bills
At the time of my comment the Everbilt isn't currently on sale but we do see sales for coolers like it often - slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?q=cooler&pp=20&rating=3&filter%5B%5D=338&forumid%5B%5D=71&forumid%5B%5D=30&forumid%5B%5D=9&forumid%5B%5D=25&forumid%5B%5D=4&forumid%5B%5D=8&forumid%5B%5D=10&forumid%5B%5D=13&forumid%5B%5D=38&forumid%5B%5D=39&forumid%5B%5D=53&forumid%5B%5D=54&forumid%5B%5D=166&r=1
Great review from two guys who clearly have never been in the great outdoors.
Hilarious! :D
"What's the tape measure for?"
I think it's for measuring your kale leaves for your vegan, non-GMO, apple and pecan salad.... 😂
Looks like they only venture the great backdoors.
now that is what you call a review!
And the cup holders on the Everbilt will keep cups from sliding off on a boat.
Everbilt hands down. Yeti didn’t perform to justify $160 more.
Yeti as a company really needs to understand name brand bs doesn't sell like it used to. They really need to work on making their products better for that premium price they want to charge
I have the Everbilt, Paid in the Upper 20 Dollar range. Fantastic..I love it
Are you sure the Yeti was latched fully before the drop test?
Because it blew water out of the hinge side immediately upon contact on the drop test.
Yup, both were fully latched. You can see them latched at 5:58. Sorry we don't have a better angle of them on that.
@@slickdeals thanks for the reply, I’m only curious because of just how fast the water blew out the back.
I would think being dropped on the lid would actually compress and seal the lid better for a second, but it was instant while the lid was compressed.
Just one of those things I guess.
Thanks for the video!
Yes. To measure fish as some species need to be a specific size
Those guys have never left North Hollywood.
Yeti needs to put those latches. On all there coolers
They were.
My Yeti is a huge disappointment when it comes to a 24 hour ice test....the Igloo coolers are much lighter and much cheaper.
I do well with Igloo. I'm sure the differences are more pronounced the longer you go, but WTF needs to keep a 28-qt. cooler full of ice for 5 days? 🤣
awesome review u forgot account for size of cooler...makes big difference.
I meant 1.44 in the second line. Sorry.
Did the yeti have a place to lock it like the other one?
Why would you do an evaluation on two “Cooler” products without including “Temperature” retention performance ?
I have the exact same yeti cooler, same color. My fell out of my truck driving down the road. So I can tell you that they are tuff.
With gas prices it looks like it’s the everbuilt! Thanks guys
this makes me want the everbilt
The ice melt test was poorly done. Since they used the same amount of ice for coolers with different volumes, the larger cooler will always be at a disadvantage. If you did the same test with the Roadie 24 and the Roadie 48, you'd get the same results. The smaller cooler will outperform the larger one because of the difference in air space.
Absolutely. My first thought when I watched. But they meant well. :)
So what's the red button between latches on the Everbilt 26 qt Rotomolded Cooler?
The drain is key if you have to add more ice and you still have food and drinks in the cooler! Thanks Guys!!
You forgot the test if you ran over it or it fell out of your truck on the highway, which one would produce less stress. Everbuilt is clear winner and by far best value.
Girlie "men" who don't know why the tape measure is on the lid of a cooler certainly would not own a pickup truck for it to fall out of... just sayin
This is a great way to look at it!
Thanks fellas!!! this was very very helpful!!!
looking at all my other coolers, I can't go with a glossy finish as the yeti has
I'm not paying 200 dollars for a damn cooler.
The only real difference is that it looks pretty. And alot of people pay extra money for a prettier looking thing. Yeti knows this and targets those people lol
I thought for that price it must be significantly better at retaining the cold temps for longer..not the case
Yeti is a status symbol, Everbilt is practical.
Not good if your latches open if the thing tips over
I have this cooler and I love it paid 30 for it on offer up it was new igloo cooler well worth it
IF a bear wants to open my cooler, i pray that he can i'm not trying to open my tent.
Dude in the glasses putting off STRONG Aaron Franklin vibes
Who makes ever built where can I find one of these
www.homedepot.com/b/Everbilt/N-5yc1vZ402
Sadly, they don't make this model of the Everbilt cooler any longer.
I'll definitely buy the best and deals hands down
My vanity left with my hair. To save 160 bucks all day long is the answer for me
The everbilt is the exact same height as the Yeti load out Bucket.
Yeti is still way overpriced!
The drain spout is to drain the excess word out of the cooler not to empty the cooler Some people may not can lift the cooler like other people can to turn it over in empty or drain the water out of it And especially if you have cans of soda or beer or whatever else you may have in it
Bro spelling and pronunciation
Excuse me for that I do know how to spell it was most likely I was traveling and I was using Voice to Text....if you have ever used VTT You Know how it puts what it wants to say and then again it may have been Auto Correct so Yeah Forgive Me Honest Mitsake ..........MISTAKE
But u understood what I was saying
No excuse for may not can. Nice try anyway🤣
@@Linkys_Adventureyou’re replying to yt comments while driving? 🤦♂️
I happened to get an ozark trail same size as everbuilt & same look at Walmart for 40 bucks on sale I was lk wtf whats wrong with it decided to get it & boy am I happy I did its a good descent size not to small not to big... & it does keep the ice over 24 hrs even 48hrs if give or take mostly water 2nd day... but hey for 40 bucks I'm very happy with the purchase
Seems like a pretty biased review in favor of the overpriced, Yeti. At the end of the day you're paying an extra $160 for the name.
2:20: I honestly think he's trying to make it look harder to latch the Everbuilt
4:32: They do it again
6:30: They insult anyone who'd buy the overbuilt, "If you're clumsy it's the better one" (I paraphrase)
7:30: When Everbuilt wins the drop test, it is sarcastically referred to as scientific, insinuating that the drop test shouldn't really be taken as seriously as the the tests that Yeti won... because those were "more scientific".
Looks like one can also sit on the Everbuilt
9:02: THE EVERBUILT HAS A BOTTLE OPENER?!
Oh yea that is basically what they have in their "Advertiser Disclosure":

@@slickdeals fair enough. Sorry for being extra critical, was it really that much harder to open the Everbilt though?
@@xleafr Opening wasn't super difficult but you still to pull hard forward (hence why Dan struggled opening it before checking the ice levels) but closing was the real hassle. Johan took it camping with his family and they quickly got tired of and/or were unable to latch it closed.
I found this video extremely helpful!! Thank you!!!!
Travel ball parents love coolers that don't have a big footprint in their folding wagons at tournaments. The wider the cooler's footprint, the less room for chairs, food, fans, etc.
Drop test off the side at an angle and see how they hold up hitting on one edge
I bought a tan YETI I did squint when I pressed the ‘buy it now’ button 😢🤷🏼♂️😆
The generic cooler was set up for failure , it’s inside dimensions are bigger than the Yeti’s therefor more space to keep cool and more space for hot air at start of test . In order for test to had been fare , you would have obtain equal size coolers .. Also the Yeti when dropped , was dropped flat on its lid , the cheap cooler took the hit , rite on edge .. ( The takeaway ) the cheaper cooler is a better value and potentially holds ice as long as Yeti 🤔
Engel came before Yeti, it works as well and is cheaper. Yeti is simply trendy, hence more $$$!
The everbilt looks identical to a Lincoln cooler. I have one and it’s pretty good.
Locks don't mean Shit to a Bear...I have seen a Yeti get it's top popped in a second, I believe the cooler still sits in the Kancamagus Highway Welcome center in NH
No test of the temps of the drinks?
The more air found inside of any cooler is going to melt the ice faster , even yeti instructs you avoid any air gaps .
YET because I DESRVE IT!
What about those yeti coolers from china?
$40 or $90 wins anytime. People who uses this size of cooler would not need ice to stay frozen for more than 48 hours?
People who work in construction or outdoor jobs use coolers like these daily for their employees to have water bottles available and refilling them with ice daily can be annoying and expensive over time, so I see where people need the ice to last a couple of days.
Wouldn’t the Yeti 35 be more of a better comparison?
These 2 lovers were so Yeti it wasn't even a fair comparison.... should do a comparison between Spirit Airlines and United Airlines...
Now the Yeti is 249.00 yyaahhh I don’t think that price is worth it now.
That seems so insane - they must still be selling enough of them to keep the higher price and if so, good for them
