long story short, yes, jdm started as cars that are affordable and have potential to tune, and now, its the opposite with a few outliners , id say keep a eye out on the domestics ;)

US cars have always been cheaper power and performance. But JDM enthusiasts are JDM enthusiasts because we love JDM cars. Dakota 100% right. "Could have got a mustang, should have got a vette" has been the bane of every JDM Enthusiast for decades.
Dakota sure talks a lot of shit on domestic cars not handling well for a guy who doesn't race and drives mostly Volkswagens

I would say to an extent usdm cars getting more popular locally I know that here in Appleton we actually have a decently large Dodge SRT-4 group. And some Cobalt mostly turbocharged ones. But I do hope that the American tuners do shine a bit more same with 80s muscle.

Honestly I agree with you if you still want an affordable drift car you can’t go wrong with a C5 Corvette, C6 Corvette, SN95, S197, or 98-02 Camaro also if your planning to build a roll race car C5 Z06, any C6 with an LS3, or an S550 Mustang as much as I enjoy tuner and JDM cars I will say domestics cars as of right now are the best power to dollar, 43:22 my childhood dream cars where the C6 ZR1 and 5th Gen Camaro ZL1 I gotta say they both have age very well

The ferarri is 15-20 years old (i forget what year it is) and has sub 14k miles, so it averages less than a mile a year, yall wonder why its always broken 😂
I was hoping for a more thoughtful conversation on domestics vs. japanese cars. You could have discussed why domestic cars aren't "cool." There are domestic cars that perform better than the challenger. Maybe invite someone who drives and has years of experience with domestics and return to this topic.

You might think people would see the police and their cars and not do stupid stuff, but 2 months ago we had our first cars n coffee of the season, with officers rented, and right in front of the officer a stock base model nissan altima tried swinging it as he pulled onto the road, and lost control and went into the crowd, right in front of the officer. of course wrecked his car severely and went to jail, and got CNC cancelled for the rest of the year. 🤬
Ehhhhhhh.....The only factor that makes them comparable is that they're cheap but that's mostly because they made a ton of them. Millions of mustangs and Camaros every generation. Millions of cobalts and cavaliers, neons etc. Hundreds of thousands of corvettes. All that aside they're just not the same.
25:30 I disagree these new cars are “boring” only because it isn’t the 80’s and it isn’t scary to go 90mph, they made them so much better you’re tricked into thinking a slower more uncontrollable car is “better” because it requires YOU to do more work
