I now find that I can't like this video. I prefer to remain in a world where the star wars cannon is limited to a book series and 6 films - of which only 4 films are good and the rest is pretty iffy.
Hi Clint! Actually, because we are thankfully on RUclips, when you started talking about the exciting topic I didn't quite catch the name of, I immediately went back and looked at the printed words you had on the top of the screen and hit pause so I could read it as slowly and as many times as I wanted. Yes. I AM a geek like that. I also would have stayed after class to ask what the word was because it sounded like something that would be on a test on top of being cool. I got to meet teachers and professors this way and was often asked to share my notes with sick students who had missed class. I wasn't really a suck-up, I just really love information.
Oh man I love the way you teach terminology. And it makes so much sense to me why we don't remember terminology given to us by teachers and some professors.
I have learnt from every Clint video I have watched! A very valuable resource for anyone interested in science, and especially the natural sciences. Thank you Clint, for all the effort put into these videos, and yes, I will remember your name.
I always love your videos, Clint, but your Billie Joe reference just made this my favorite 😄 Also, I will use this method when I teach my reading class now! Thanks for helping me be a better teacher!
The only reason I was able to answer the question at 1:14 is because I immediately thought "Is it really pronounced like that? weird!", so the term stuck with me😅
I totally agree that the way you inform is the better way for people to remember terminology. And that method, indeed, helps me remember terms. But can you explain why the same method absolutely does not help me remember names? And absolutely no memory method I've yet heard or read helps me remember names? Only repetition over time commits names to my long term storage and even that doesn't guarantee I will be able to recall them in direct conversation.
Yup. I often say "I'm sorry, what was your name again? I'm terrible with names," then repeat it over and over in my head or under my breath as I walk away lol
BTW, it's even worse when someone says the name of a concept / process / person once at the beginning of a conversation & then repeatedly says "it" or "he" or "she" or "they" over & over & over & over.... just avoiding pronouns for new / important concepts helps a lot.
Announcers in boxing and sporting event do names the right way. “And standing in this corner and weight in at 173 lbs, it’s the crusher from Canada, Colman smith!”
“Rogue One” was cool, it was different in that it was made more in the vein of a war movie than any of the other “Star Wars” movies. My only problem with it that it’s troubled production seemed clear to me in both the cinematography (a lot of tight shots that I’m guessing were used to disguise the fact they couldn’t rebuild the sets for reshoots) and in that some plot elements that seemed extraneous. I also enjoyed “The Force Awakens” quite a bit. My biggest complaint at the time with that movie is that I walked out of the theater forgetting the name “Kylo Ren,” which is a fail. You don’t walk out of the original “Star Wars” forgetting the name “Darth Vader.” For one thing, he should have been mentioned in the opening crawl. In addition, I appreciated how they TRIED in “The Last Jedi” to mirror the duel plot line approach of “The Empire Strikes Back,” but still subvert the audience’s expectations at every turn, but I’ll agree it was lackluster, and didn’t flow naturally with “The Force Awakens,” leaving “The Rise of Skywalker” to try and clean up the mess. I think “The Rise of Skywalker” is unduly maligned, I liked it better than any of the prequels for sure, but certainly not what I’d have hoped for as the ending of the trilogy.
By the way, you're totally right about Rogue One! We have so much in common!
I'm pretty sure that is the only thing...
I'm totally with you on this!

@@clintexplains5327 Well most animals on this planet are my favourites, so we have that in common!
Wow, Bill, you really made me think more about the way i present myself to people.
Thank you for the interesting video, Luke.
I knew this would happen! 😉
Lol love this!
Clint buddy, I hate to break it to you, but you’re not goofy looking. You have a lovely and friendly face, and an altogether pleasing appearance.

Love these videos, it’s always the stuff you didn’t know you wanted to know that’s so interesting.
"You'll learn things you never knew you never knew" 🎶
Couldnt have said it better!!
Oh man I love the way you teach terminology. And it makes so much sense to me why we don't remember terminology given to us by teachers and some professors.
We have a video about those dyeing dart frogs, you know, if you're into that kind of thing: ruclips.net/video/IUrzCTxvw18/видео.html

I just realized that often at work I give my name after I've helped customers instead of introducing myself first..
Fascinating!!!!!! Also highly useful!
Thank you for explaining why I don't ever bother to learn names! They don't matter when I first meet someone (usually)
OMG! I no longer feel incredibly rude for instantly forgetting people's names when introduced- there's a reason for it! 🤯
I always love your videos, Clint, but your Billie Joe reference just made this my favorite 😄 Also, I will use this method when I teach my reading class now! Thanks for helping me be a better teacher!
This is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen on RUclips, this Clint guy is a superlative educator :)
First, I will always remember your name, sweet Clinty. Second, great job on yet another video! Love you and your family lots. ❤️
I love this! I'm not very good at people, so I'll definitely be using this in the future!
Brilliant taste! I love green day!
Awesome vid too!
This is pedagogical gold! Thank you!
Currency has a lot of interesting history, thank you for another great video.
Indeed it does! Thank you so much!

This one gave me strong Vsauce vibes. "Hey! Clint here, can you remember this name?"
YES thankyou for putting all of this into words!
I think this is one reason I thought I wasn’t too smart growing up… any time I learned a new word it was followed by the definition.
This is so cool! Also, I feel called out. Dang I can't remember names ever, and now I know why
Really good advice
Nice video! Love these
Oh I can already tell that Your name is definitely worth remembering, Carl.

You can tell me your name at a get together in any way and I'll still probably forget lol. Great video though Luke! ;)
As someone who cannot remember people's names, thank you!
Clint. Clint Barton. Hawkeye. Can’t miss. Hits the target. On target. On topic. Interesting topics. Aha, it’s CLINT!
Thanks Billy!
We love to watch clints videos, my hognosesnake Newt and i 😄
This guy just lowers my blood pressure. I wasn’t even listening
How dare you Sir remembering useless information is the one super power my autism grants me I bid you Good day sir!

Way cool Clint
I'm confused now. I've been watching Clint's Reptiles for awhile now and the whole time it should have been Luke's Reptiles.
So this is why people mispronounce my name again, right after they asked and corrected themselves?
Announcers in boxing and sporting event do names the right way. “And standing in this corner and weight in at 173 lbs, it’s the crusher from Canada, Colman smith!”
Hey, I remembered tapirage. But I was interested and cared.
Clint "can you remember all that while talking to me about Star wars?"
Me: "with the powers of ADHD, maybe!"

this is so true
No Luke, I am more interesting!!
NOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU
Explains sooo much
Nothing I want more than to be insulted by the title right up front.
