Tidbits for those reading through the comments: This relationship also affects a creature's ability to store or shed heat, since that depends on surface area. A mammal in cold climates may find it easier to grow larger, because it looses less heat to the air for it's body mass. the opposite is also true. A Fennec Fox isn't particularly big, and it has big wide ears to add to it's surface area and aid in cooling.

I once saw a comment that it didn't matter if the larger dinosaurs were warm blooded by active thermogenesis because they couldn't help but be warmer than their surroundings because of their surface-to-volume ratio.

Love this explanation, and the little graphics that illustrate the concept! Could Clint perhaps explain what good it does to get a tetanus shot AFTER you’ve already been potentially exposed to tetanus (bitten by a dog, stepped on a nail, etc.)?
Danger ropes (snakes) have a great surface area to volume ratio! I imagine many of them would be fine falling out of an airplane! You even see many bacteria mimicking this cylinder/pill shape to take advantage of the higher surface area it provides (and thus better excretion and respiration)
As a horse owner I can say for absolute certain they do splash when in the water 😂 they love it but joking aside fun video Clint thank you for your informative videos as well as your content on Clints reptiles

Is it that the insects dont have bones? So that way all their insect meat wont stay togheter for being so big?
An insect does have bones, they're just on the outside of the insect's body.
