Egg shells are safe to eat and they can be used another source of calcium. Although, I wouldn't recommend eating too much because eating too much of anything is bad for you.

The Holy Gamer That is usually only if you don't hard- or soft-boil the eggs. If you are eating raw egg left over in the shell and there was a salmonella outbreak in that particular batch it would cause you to get a slight case (because there isn't nearly enough to cause a severe case usually) I personally haven't eaten shell unless the eggs were hard boiled so I can't speak for other situations.
