i love that we are all here to learn arabic! good luck everybody :) lets police our own dress code if we like, no need to judge others. This was very easy to understand and helpful too. Most videos seem to be men and i ended up trying to copy their pitch too! i enjoyed this teaching style thank you.
Cause some sounds in the arabic alphabet are so unique they can´t replace it with letters in the latin alphabet. For example, for the letter Haa, they use number 7, for the letter Ayn they use number 3, and so on...
So is there no "ah" in Arabic like the "a" in father? As how ,at least in the west we pronounce Allah الله as Ah-Lah should it be the fatah short vowel?
Question, so in the video is understood that long vowels can´t never begin a word. What about alif? What´s the difference between alif and waaw and yaa2 ?
+Mikis Gaitan Yes, alef waaw and yaa2 cannot begin a word (or a syllable) when functioning as a long vowel. There is one exception: الـ the "definite article" (even in this case, however, ا is pronounced as أ). Probably what you are referring to is that often times words that start with أ "alef hamzeh" are sometimes spelled with ا "long-vowel alef", but this incorrect from a spelling and a pronunciation standpoint.
What does bib (beeb ?) at the end of the video have that line jutting up in the middle. Seems it should just be a straight line for beginning and final `b`, with the vowel indicator for e. E is a sound, not a letter
She says that each constonant in a word has to take diactrical marks but she doesn't add those marks in her other videos. Check "This/that yes/no" lesson for example
This instructor is fabulously talented in teaching!
Teaching could be more tricky than learning itself . And pronouncing is a combination of both, a good teacher, and linguistic practice.

Are short vowels pronounced in arabic? Is the flower name pronounced Yasmin or Yasamin?
