- Felipe Manuel Madinaveitia performs an improvisation on the Forster & Andrew's organ (1883) of the Presbyterian Church of St Andrew's, in Buenos Aires, using harmonies characteristic of Celtic music.
The organ of this temple was originally located in the first building that the Presbyterian Church had, towards the end of the 19th century. The instrument had a manual keyboard and basic stops for use in religious services. Later, at the beginning of the 20th century, that first building was demolished, and the current temple was built. The organ was left in storage, and when the new church was inaugurated it was installed there, enlarged, with two manual keyboards and more stops, to accommodate the greater size of the new building. In the 1930s, Vincent & Swell added a third keyboard using Gray & Davison materials, the "Solo Organ", and the transmission was electrified. This new division included beautiful solo stops, such as flutes, some soft reeds, and a Tuba Mirabilis. As the years went by, as a result of all these modifications, the instrument fell into progressive deterioration, until it was in very poor condition, where it was even impossible to use it for religious services. Serious air pressure problems, electrical failures that caused unexpected sounds and the invasion of water in the third keyboard were the problems that brought the organ to a critical situation. Starting in 2017, major restoration work began to recover the instrument and put it into operation. The work was arduous and extensive. The restoration still continues, slowly but surely...
