    the name from the original is haunting, like, your suffering so much, and you can start to recall some thing,. "was it all a really bad nightmare?" you ask yourself, but no. it was the calm before another,much worse storm. its really terrifying.

    As someone who suffers from early-onset dementia I’ve stopped asking myself “is this a dream” 99% of the time, but those rare (becoming much more rare as time has gone on) occasions where I do have some form of lucidity, I ask myself every time then, “was it a dream? Am I okay now?” before falling back into the void.

      @@Zawmbbeh It’s more of a very slow burn. I suffered a head injury 9 years ago that kind of ruined me. As time has gone on I’ve remained mostly the same but what is lost is lost slowly, almost unnoticeably by me, or even others, but eventually realized after the fact. I struggle to recall the faces and voices of loved ones like my grandparents and old friends. That’s the hardest part.

    He awakes, startled, shaken. Quivering, he remembers: his wife! His wife laid perfectly still to his side. He loved his wife. She was his only placid reminder of how things used to be, of the life he lived. Tears welled in his eyes as he recalled her shape, her voice, her undeniable presence. But her face, how was her face? He reared sharply in a dim haze to the other side of the bed. It was left empty. He was suddenly overcome with the dreaded feeling that she was gone. That she had been gone for quite some time.
    Until the pitch darkness of sleep engulfed him again, he mourned the loss of his wife, for her face now eluded him.

    I am truly afraid. I’m still young and still a minor, however I have a mother who was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis and might develop dementia. She’s had this even before I was born and we both make the most unwise decisions. Makes me worried whether in the future I’ll have memory issues. I guess that’s why this scares me so bad.

    • @Pagglet
      @Pagglet 9 месяцев назад

      Dementia doesn't necessarily work like that-at least according to science. It's probably something that sparks randomly at an old age. It is also believed not to be really genetic. If you want to prevent the disease, you should eat healthily, exercise, and refrain from drinking, smoking, or using tobacco.

    He glared unto his wife, as if he were to make up for his lost time for he n’ere even hugged her since the diagnosis. He swallowed down his misery and his head bobbed up from the sea of lost memories and he was finally able to embrace his wife. “Was it a dream?” He thought to himself. Was what a dream? What? Was? Dream? For he is swiftly dragged down into the garbling mess of his own mind, where his own clarity and lucidity would frighten him, stark contrast to when after his diagnosis, he would break down even if he forgot something so trivial, such as forgetting his keys. Though now he finds comfort in drowning himself with the sea of memories that ebb and flow. It’s better to forget forgetting than to have a moment of clarity where you remember forgetting.

    Stage 1: Oh, There’s no milk in the fridge. No biggie, i’ll just buy some more. Stage 2 : Uh oh, i don’t have enough money to buy milk. This is a problem! I need money fast. Stage 3 : I’M NOT MAKING MONEY FAST ENOUGH! I DON’T ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY MILK!! Stage 4 : I GOT FIRED FROM ALL MY JOBS AND MY FAMILY KICKED ME OUT OF THE HOUSE BECAUSE OF IT! WHAT AM I GONNA DO WHAT AM I GONNA DO.. Stage 5: OH SHIT OH SHIT MY DOG GOT TAKEN AWAY FROM ME AND EVERYBODY AVOIDS ME AND DOESN’T TALK TO ME WHAT IS THIS HELL!?!? Stage 5 Clarity: Your family felt bad, and invited you to go back to the house. You got your dog back, and your family helped you get a perfect job. And in the meantime, They got you some milk. After the clarity: THE JOB DIDN’T GET ACCEPTED BECAUSE THEY KNEW WHO YOU WERE AND NOW YOUR BACK ON THE STREETS AND ITS EVEN WORSE THEN BEFORE.. YOU HAVE NO MILK!? Stage 6 : I give up.. I’ll just.. Cry here while i rot away.. Goodbye world.. Put me out of this hell.. Terminal Lucidity: Your in heaven.. It’s all over. You can do what you want! Most importantly, you don’t need to buy milk, you already have enough in heaven! You do feel kind of sad that it ended this way, but now your in a better place. CONCLUSION: I just wanted a glass of milk ;-;
