  • Join us for our first ever visit to Pigeon Forge Tennessee as part of our April 2022 road trip to explore some cool attractions, rides, food and drinks! We have a delicious southern lunch at The Old Mill and check out the most historic spot in Pigeon Forge, finally get to ride the famous (and infamous) Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride Adventure and it's everything we hoped it would be, we explore The Island, ride Pigeon Forge's newest ride, Skyfly Soar America, made by Dynamic Attractions (who also worked on Soarin' at Disney World and E.T. at Universal Studios), ride some fun rides including the Smoky Mountain Wheel, of course sampled some moonshine, see live music, shop and drive the Pigeon Forge Parkway (US-441) main drag and see some of the wild building facades on this popular tourist corridor! All with perfect weather, blue skies and views of the Smoky Mountains looming in the distance! A beautiful and perfect first time exploring Pigeon Forge! Have you been here? What's your favorite thing to do?

One of the best things about living in middle TN is knowing I can be in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg in a few short hours! Dollywood is my absolute favorite non-Disney/Universal theme park & The Apple Barn (and its restaurant) is a MUST visit every trip!

We usually visit the Smokie's twice a year. But be careful! Rod runs and other vehicle shows will really make it crazy. We try to go before the season really starts kicking and after the season is over staying away from the Christmas holiday. We have been there during the holiday and it was not as enjoyable as other times with the crowds. Doing this makes for a great vacation. Only downside during those times is most everything closes by 9pm.. We have stayed at the Island for 5 trips so far.. need to start looking at other options now.

Love seeing you guys in my "happy place". When everyone went to the beach when I was a kid my parents took me to the Smoky's. And we....hiked, and hiked and hiked and hiked. My parents instilled a love of that area into my heart. fast forward many years and I passed on my love to my wife who also has a love of the outdoors. Fast forward quite a few more years and we ended up buying a vacation home that overlooked Mt Leconte. We raised our girls in that cabin going there every time we had a chance. Fast forward a few more years and the wild fires in 2016 destroyed our little cabin. Broke our hearts to lose something that was so ingrained in our family unit. We rebuilt and ended up selling it as it was not the same little cabin that held all of our memories. And now we still take our girls up there we just rent certain cabins of people we have known for years in the Arts and Crafts District outside of Gatlinburg. I will not barrage you with recommendations as I am sure your trip is already finished and you had it planned out already but if you ever plan to go back I have quite a bit of knowledge I would happily pass on that would really create a magical experience for you guys that is outside of the standard tourist stuff. Anyway thanks for the video and glad to see you two having so much fun :)

@@NoxCattus HA! Yea that traffic is NOT cool. Years ago they would have down times but they have all gone away now. We know all of the back roads to get into the Smoky's and Gatlinburg and how to get around Pigeon Forge. As for recs I will just do some quick ones not to tie up the comment section. 1. Arts and Crafts District just out of Gatlinburg. Awesome Art Galleries, Tapas bars and British pubs. Also there is a very historic Inn B&B..The Buckhorn Inn. prior presidents have stayed there and you can get dinner reservations even if you do not stay there but book early. The GreenBriar entrance to the Smokeys is also on that side of the Arts and Crafts district and this is where the locals go to hike. Much less congested and great trails that will take you up Mt Leconte. I have other recs but I will leave it there for now. Hope you figure out how to traverse that place. Once you do it becomes much more enjoyable :) I have even cycled up to Clingmans Dome on my bike ( got to start that one around 0400 in the morning to beat the traffic LOL!

Authentic full size diesel and steam train tours. The Nantahala Gorge train excursion will take your breath away! Depending on time of year, they have a wine train, moonshine train, Bunny hop train, BBQ train, Polar Express train. On a day that proved kinda hokey.
Went on the slowest boat ride ever
With some Dinos that didn't look too clever.
Went on a big wheel oh so high
Your toes were dangling in the sky.
Nothing we did was dull or boring,
Especially the ride that was a copy of soarin
Nearly got whiplash on a parrot that was spinning
But with Jackie & Sam we're always winning.
So this video was definitely NOT a crock
We even saw a Catfish sucking a rock.

Pigeon Forge certainly looks like a fun place. I love watching Jacob the Carpetbagger’s vids, he really knows all the ins and outs.
It was so much fun watching you both experience it together, you found many of the interesting attractions and eateries, it truly is a fun hub of activities.
Jackie, it’s so much fun watching you experience all these new places! I think you made a great decision to take this trip, setting out on New Adventures! Thanks for bringing us along! 😄

Really enjoyed your video! I wouldn't get on that ferris wheel because, I'm afraid of heights! Never had moonshine either!
