A good base to start with is approximately 2% of their ideal adult body weight. I found this is just a starting point. Some dogs require more while others require less. Learning how to tell body score by judging the layer of fat over the ribs is the best way of determining whether your dog needs more or less.
I'm glad you asked! So dogs do not require grain. The reason they say don't feed grain-free kibble is because the majority of grain-free kibble replaces the grain with legumes. The problem is not grain-free. The problem is too many legumes which not only mess with hormones but also cause heart defects. I feed very few legumes.
I was told to never give my dog (also a golden) a chicken bone because they splinter or something & can choke on it. She’d LOVE CHICKEN, so do you know if this is a myth…or just parts of the chicken are off limits? Thanks for your great efforts on this video! Good job 👍🏼 & appreciated ❤
From what I have researched human grade pork is safe to feed raw to dogs. Of course there is always a risk with feeding anything, so I would encourage you to research on your own and do what you think is best for your dog.
"Micro-bies" is supposed to be "microbes" pronounced like a regular person? "East" meant to be "Yeast"? with these glaring mistakes in the first 4.5 mins, how can i trust your attention to detail on anything else?
They way the fourth one in the kennel, dances when that food is coming is so cute.
Nice to see such well behaved and happy dogs.
Dr ian Billinghurst is my mentor also .... great australian vet. Great videos Em, thanks for all your hard work
Great details, and dedication to your passion!
You're amazing, Em! I love your videos, so informative. Such a sweet bunch of Goldens ❤❤❤
15 years of feeding raw really makes me, a newcomer, feel a lot better about feeding my dogs raw!
You are the best! I love watching your videos you are a super doggie mom. Is there any dry dog food that is good?
Dog paradise for real
Just curious what do you recommend to buyers who do not or cannot feed raw food and what probiotic and digestive enzymes products do you use .
How do you know the appropriate portion size for each dog, male/female, puppy/adult??? J&S

Your dogs eat better than I do haha! Good job 🙂
Is it more cost effective when you have more Goldens to prepare this raw diet? Dry dog food is easy but your diet looks so much more healthy.
Do you know roughly what the cost per meal approx. would be?
@@bencleniuk7252The cost can vary depending on where you source your ingredients.
Good dogs.
12:41 do you feed your dogs only once a day or twice?
My adult dogs eat once a day.
Do feed them once or twice a day?
I feed my adult dogs once a day.
I thought goldens needs grains. So it can prevent DCM? I’m so confused about this

If chicken hasn’t been cooked the bone wouldn’t splinter
Thank you. @@ivyroy615
I do the same thing with raw chicken and feed my boy outside 😬
Erin any idea why some goldens nose's turn pink from black?
Yes and that's actually what my next video is about!
No water with the meal? 😮
I thought pork has worms if not cooked?
