So the Judge approved a pastor’s Wife to supervise a visit with that known history? A Police Officer should have been supervising those visits! To allow an unaware untrained Pastors wife to meet in a desolate location shows negligence on the part of the judge to protect innocent civilians and the children! Shame on You!
You are quite right. However, the grandparent's family are also anti government, and as Republicans, probably gun holders, so there may have been an escalation to a hostage situation and a shoot out. Still the mums probably would still be alive in that scenario. The way the grandmother had behaved for the last few years this was always going to be a nasty outcome. Does anyone know how long she had had the children?
I read since 2019 the father wrangler got custody and he’s was always with mom /kids grandma and months ago he went to jail now rehab

Tell us what court denied the protective orders.
How do they think killing Veronica and Jillian was going to benefit their custody claims? When people become fixated on something, they lose any semblance of common sense. What a turbulent childhood those babies have had, now none of them will ever see their mothers again. I wish for a more peaceful future for them, hopefully not with their father as custodian.

The development that is important here is how the State used relatives and friends to perform a job that really belongs to a case worker or a supervisor who can assess the risks regarding the interaction between children and adults in this case. To save money, the State protective services used a non-professional and ended up with two dead people and a parentless child. Penny wise and dollar foolish. Now the child remains a Ward of the Court and the father missing in this case nowhere to be found for the collection of child support is problematic. The grandparents after filing for custody should find an attorney and sue the manager of that office, its casework supervisor, supervisor, and case worker, and the contract service agency that assess and evaluates risk for the State, in a wrongful death suit. The negligence here is on the State. The party truly responsible for this negligence is the Kansas State Legislature failing to allocate funds for the protection of children in their state.

It was premeditated murder, not only of the daughter in law but of the other lady. Granny told her preferred court appointed observer to take time off. She wanted to kill somebody else she did not have "attachment". Now, here's my question: didn't her acquaintance find that request odd? And, which judge granted custody to that psychopath? There is a lot of fishy stuff in this story.
I had heard she took blame so Tad would not be blamed. Just hope all the children including 16yr old who broke case wide open find peace and happiness in all of this. RIP
Remember class, a protective order is just a piece of paper, IF you can get a judge to issue one! There is a fifth suspect in this case, but that person will never be held responsible for their role in these crimes.

Speaking from personal experience having a broken spine, arm and dislocation of shoulder under a protective order. It's only a piece of paper. Only those who chose to abide by that order will make it work. Who will pay for the move? Dead beat dad that never pays child support?

I pray the victims family members sue their local district court. Their daughter and a lovely young case worker wouldn’t have died were it not for their dirty rulings.
I think the father of the children was in rehab and was using that as a cover so they would not link him to the murder, and his mother didn't think they would be caught.
