If you are a single person and earn £1500/1600 upwards, you should be able to save atleast £200 a month, as long as you don’t live in London.
I am saying this because as a single lady living alone, paying rent, council tax, car insurance etc.. I am still able to save and treat myself.
Live within your means
I was in this video, heyy❤
Awwn hey girl! You absolutely great❤️
Things are expensive globally. In Zimbabwe maize meal has doubled in some shops prices trippled since 2021. Chicken was 4usd but now it's 7usd more expensive than in the UK. People are struggling to feed their children/grandchildren. So please don't say things are expensive in the UK only. Life is now expensive globally. Travel to other European countries and see the prices. Stay blessed.
Hello, I don’t live in Zimbabwe, I live in the UK and my niche is based on happenings in the UK, hence this content.
I just returned from Harare back to Canada. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I thought my mom was exaggerating as usual. Some snacks like Lemon creams etc are cheaper for me to by here from the South African store. Ko matemba $4!
@@claramunhu5523It’s crazy!! 😮
@@MelissaOti We know. Just commenting on what is going on in Zim. Thanks for your content
That PhD lady is absolutely honest and lucky to have a parents who are financially capable.
She’s blessed, I agree. Thanks sis
Hi sis, please is there an update on the graduate route review?
Life is way easier for married couples without kids yet cause of double income. But singles also have that advantage of living in an en-suite shared apartment with bills inclusive. Just budget your income and no do more than yourself
I disagree, how about expenses? I personally think singles find it easier
@@MelissaOti from my own personal experience, living here as a couple without kids yet, life is way easier. We didn't get to experience all the discomfort that people complain about. Cause we combine income and after bills we are still able to save reasonably
@@Lauralovesgistthank you! For singles it is way harder!
@@MelissaOtiit is way harder for singles. You keep mentioning children but if you consider a couple without kids, it is easier for them than a single person. First of all, there is only so much that 1 salary can cover. The income of the average single person will restrict you in terms of where you can live and the type of accommodation you can get and whether or not you can even save. Couples can choose to live in a large studio (for a while) and save money if they choose to. Many single persons are subjected to house shares which can be a nightmare sometimes. Electric and gas and water in a studio apartment will not increase much if 2 persons are there. Even though 2 persons consume food (for couples), there is the salary of the 2nd person to afford it.
2 persons splitting bills is way more manageable, that is why so many persons look for other persons to share with in the first place.
I've had this conversation with my friend who's single several times. She also swears that married people are better off because of the financial benefits of double income. Personally I think there are benefits on both sides. All I know is that loneliness is real when you're an immigrant. Also, having a family motivates you to be frugal and work harder
I would make a street content on this topic because I personally want to know what others think about it.
The loneliness is real my dear🥹
Precious our celebrity😂. I stand with you my dear, double income with couples is forever an edge especially when there are no kids yet. However, i think its still very possible to save as a single.
Interesting, i’m actually leaning from you guys to be honest😂
We know😂😂😂😂 and we love you both❤❤❤❤.
Hahah love you too🥰
For a couple (without children) where both persons are working, it is definitely easier to manage cost of living than for a single person. Hands down.
Yeah, I absolutely agree with you on that.
Your sister is so funny about the student talk, as if school fees is a joke
Hahaha she nor know😂
I don’t like Lidl at all. Aldi is ok for some things but I can’t get a lot of the things I want. I do my shopping online weekly at Asda and have it delivered to my home. That stops me from doing shopping during the week and spending on things I didn’t intend to.
That’s amazing, I shop from Aldi and Asda, and sometimes Tesco. But I always look out for essential products on ASDA and tesco club card or Aldi match products on Tesco. As a family of 5 we are able to save reasonably after our expenses and invest as well.
Please taking of investment what kind of investment can someone invest in?
@@rukayatikotun51Opening an ISA is not bad, personally I love real estates, buying to lets, airbnb, etc… I believe in investing here in the UK than Nigeria.
@@MelissaOti oh okay thanks 🙏
Students are limited to 20 hours work. Not possible for a student to earn 3k pounds. Maybe their dependants though
How about during holidays? I personally don’t think it’s impossible.
@@MelissaOti holiday is usually one month. The last holiday we had was even three weeks.
@@Lauralovesgist3 months holiday for January intake
Stop this speculation girl, you can’t compare a student to a full time worker. I don’t understand you a bit, you lived with your sister the lady interviewing you for couple of months before you moved out to live alone, where is all your money going to? No be this UK we Dey together.
Relax, everyone’s story is different! Don’t judge what you don’t know.
Are you minding her. She also followed her sisters footstep by opening her own youtube page when she just came in to the uk
@@EmmanuelooukWhat is wrong with opening a youtube channel?
The singles have more advantage, married people have to cope with kids , and pay extra bills.
Exactly
A single person with full time job is better of than couple with kids working in the uk
Exactly
Even cost of living is higher here in UK than Nigeria
It depends though
Please if you are with your children, you must live in a bigger accommodation which rent is over high, feeding is horrible on cost, children bills are unavoidable, this girl is talking what she does not know
Thank youuuu! My point exactly
Shey you see that Second Lady in pink ..I no believe whatever she says .
Which of the ladies is wearing pink though?
@@MelissaOtii think she's talking about Precious
When you are single is better
I believe so too
Having a car in the Western world does not mean one is doing well.
True
Students hardly get jobs in the UK
Another angle ❤️
The education is not free , wait till they enter secondary school and university.
Do they pay fees in secondary school??
@@MelissaOtino secondary school is free in the UK.
@@shanghaichica I don’t understand, how is it not free? I know some certain schools like grammar schools aren’t free but majority is FREE! Kindly explain further because i’m so lost tbh.
Grammar Schools' are free in the UK. My children are in grammar school. We only pay for school excursions @MelissaOti
@@MelissaOtiI meant it is free. It’s only university that you pay for. Even college (16-18) is free here.
