True!
WOUT = POULIDOR

1. Erik Zabel (22), 2. Sean kelly (21) and 3. Nicholas Frantz (18). But yeah he might get that record since he is gaining lots of 2d places this Tour, his total is now at 10 2d place finishes.

I used to love pretending to be a road bike rider....an old man reliving his Eddie M childhood idol days, when affording such bikes was a mere dream...flash forward 55 years, really good bikes arrived...but at 71, I gave the road around the Covid time, after a I nearly T....boned a car that drove straight out across my path while I was doing about 50 kmph.......Point of the story....can you imagine flying along like these young guys do, and in a millisecond being thrown up in the air, and slammed into the ground before you knew what hit you...Dear Lord, do I respect this sport..truly the toughest in the world...
Very chaotic indeed! Geez, who would’ve thought TdF was a contact sport 😬
I saw a little bit of Eddy Merx's hungry in Pogi. 😂.
the lotto rider acted in bad faith, dind't even look back... he saw that rider infront of him look behind him and starting to open up, eve if he had already accelerated he should have touched the breaks and take the right line, not the left netween the barries... wtf...
WHY is Tadej even in that bunch, those crashes could have taken him out!!!!
Exactly! I'm struggling to even understand why his teammate kept looking back and it looked like Pogi wanted to sprint? Bonkers if you ask me!

On behalf of all Eritreans I'd like to thank all cycling fans for the support and the warm welcome that you showed to our rising star Biniam Girmay.❤❤ Congrats Jasper on your first clean win🎉
Further: Eritrean-cycling has more than a century history, and cycling is so popular in the country and one can even say the people breath and dream cycling for a long time, and Eritrean cyclists have dominated African cycling for a while. So, it's no surprise to see a strong contender emerges from this small country. So, all cycling fans throughout the world brace yourselves for more talents from this country. Eritrea in Africa, just like Colombia in South America will supply stars for the years to come. Love to all❤❤
First clean win…lol. Open your eyes, friend. Politics bro
Human rights organisations all say Eritrea has terrible human rights on the same level as North Korea.
The whole country is a giant prison and young men have to endure decades of forced military service. The President has been in office for 30 yrs and never held an election and he is an absolute dictator.
The only people who can leave and come back freely from Eritrea are the ruling elite and their families.
Biniam Girmay is a friend of the President who holds rallies for him in Asmara.
Does Biniam approve of the lack of even basic human rights in Eritrea?
In this TDF and at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games there are no individual Russian cyclists under a RussIan flag and no Russian team because of that country’s invasion of Ukraine and this a correct action by the world
Why is an Eritrean allowed to enter under an Eritrean flag?
@@epincionkeep crying for nothing

there's no roglic who helped him in 2022
and there's no kuss this time😢😢😢
I understand hitting the wall but some of these riders are in the middle of the pack and just give up. Get to the side of the road as quickly as possible and dont gingerly meander your way to the side.
Have to agree, that was bad form.
Keep going in a straight line you mean, definitely don’t go to the side as quickly as possible
They are doing a 'lead out' for the sprinter on the team (a lead out is where you ride really hard on the front to give a slipstream to your sprinter and also keep the pace so high that nobody can attack on the group). When they stop they are usually completely worn out, but also they may meander so other competitors have to go around and waste more energy or take a longer line.
@@pandymoose usually lead out men gas out and exit on the sides, rather than splitting the bunch sprint in the middle.
Pogacar is so doped that He can't stop racing.

The Lotto rider was unsighted squeezing through the left that started the crash. The Lotto rider threw the shoulder to push the dropping rider who moved across to the left... just unfortunate.
Damn that was an impressive sprint! He’s gotta be doing 2000 watts!
Just for comparison: 1 hp = 750 Watts. Pogacar was showing he was doing 500 W on a training ride before the Giro while behind a pace scooter.

Pogacar is such a smart racer. At times he seems to be clairvoyant.

Is it true most of the riders are on 165 cranks?
Could be. I heard the TdF-commentators (Danish Eurosport) tell that the pros have started to experiment with the length of the pedal-arms, and the trend seems to be towards shorter arms. Traditionally, you have not experimented much with that (as an amature!), so I guess it's a relatively new issue.
Back in time, I only remember having heard about it used (short arms) for criteriums (street races), where you corner a lot, so short arms are an advantage. This new trend is based on something else I'm sure, so I can only speculate.

His team tried but he did not follow their wheels and got blocked in. This used to happen more often to him so Bini is getting better. Also today was a very flat road sprint and Bini is best when its a harder (uphill) finish.

Girmay is using more than just the green jersey to get away with cheating. Double and triple check his bio samples...cheaters tend to cheat every where.
Totally agree, the UCI are allowing this.
Do you have any proof? Maybe they are all juiced, but that you single out Girmay feels a bit like you just don't like black people.

@@GonzoJohnny Good for Vingegaard. He needed that
Lotto rider should be punished/ fined and relegated for that crash he caused. he shrugged it off quick but it was blatantly stupid and 100% his fault.
First😅
Mark Cavendish (not first).
Cavendish was given the 35th sprint win by a peloton gentleman's agreement on Stage 5. Cavendish has not been given anymore free sprints after that and is not in competition when a real sprint occurs. His team had to attend to him in mountains. Pathetic stat padding.
post a link to the proof of that please...
@@ripgeorgie3156 If Cavendish was so dominating on stage 5, why is he not in contention on any other sprint? Cyclist agreement put Cavendish past a tie with the Merckx record.

@@ripgeorgie3156 Again you have yet to mention why Cavendish is not 1 to 5th place in all the other sprints in this TDF. Cavendish was 116 place in stage 13. Why wouldn't he try for another win. Because he can't and the field will not give out anymore free wins. Because he was given the 35th win. He should have been at the front of the pack before the crash like all the other sprinters.
