Hey Mike thanks for the videos. I got my TWIC this week. Filling out my paperwork and sending it off soon. If you’re overqualified for the position is the pay effected? The example you used was a captain being an SU-will the pay be captains pay or SU pay? Also, do you think supply room would be a good position on average? I know an entry level can’t pick but I’m looking at that role.
first question no. doesnt matter what your qualifications are if you apply for a specific position your pay rate is going to be whatever the pay rate is for said position. Hmm....if you actually go in to supply its a chill position for the most part money gets aight the more you move up obviously. so if supply is where you wanna go i suggest to do it.
I appreciate all the information you’ve been sharing. May I ask, after receiving in your credentials (Passport, MMC & TWIC) what are some other companies can you apply to entry level besides SIU & MSC?
thanks for the quick answer@@MikeMills1 another question, how long did it take you from being called up by MSC and actually going to MSC. What were the steps? You fill out the app, they call you within 1 month? Then you go do your doctor bloodwork, dentist, then training? How long is the training and do you get paid for it? Also how long til you go to a ship or start? Also can you be on a laptop on the ship and is there wifi on any of the ships to do online class for school? Thanks bru

@MikeMills1 Thanks for all the information, not sure if you already made a video on this but I wanted to know what is the typical/average work schedule when you work for MSC. You mentioned around the 9:45 mark that at MSC you can stay on a ship for over a year. What's the standard work rotation for Entry-Level MSC employees?
Typical for deep water ships usually minimum you are attached to a ship is 4 months. Unless you go with specific companies that might be 3 weeks in 3 weeks off. But those are usually private sector companies. Hard to get in as an entry level
@@MikeMills1 so with MSC if you have a contract for 4 months, do you get vacation pay for time off ? or is that SIU i am thinking of? Lastly, at MSC you get off a ship after 4 months do you get to say how much time you will have off before you get back on a boat.
@alfjones6377 they only give you a month off. But I tend to stay home as long as I want. I think they are trying to make it so everyone gets 2 months paid leave but idk. Nor do I really care much. About these things

You said you took 6 months off. what happens if i take off 2 months after a 4 month tour with MSC, will they blacklist from ever working their ships again or will they work with me?
